  1. To be fair I don't really lug much around even with a full family inside so the loading has never been an issue for me. I'm also considering an NX300H now that the premier pack has become available on the F Sport and so ill need to take extensive test drives to ensure the performance is enough for me.
  2. Nope no change in sound deadening. The new one is eerily quiet though apart from the loud tyres on them. I suspect they spent a while on the sound deadening on those
  3. Tomtom is always going to be cheaper because of the increase in free nav apps and Google maps and also with the increase in nav being fitted as standard to some cars. Google maps works with mirror link on the IS btw.
  4. It doesn't happen on all cars hence why it took so long to fix. Mine has no vibrations at any speed and a lot of owners don't have it either so seems to only be on certain cars. It happens with most brands, for example VW Golf Rs are having injection problems and again only on a select few cars
  5. What transmission problem? Do you mean because they're changing to multistage CVT? They do read this forum regularly. The only problem is it takes time to make changes, especially for a very small market. They rely on American customers to get problems across like the small screen which they've now made bigger And of course they're moving to multistage CVT as reviews keep complaining about the normal CVT. From reviews of the LC500H it appears the multistage gearbox is much much better with no holding of revs
  6. The drivetrain in the IS is hardly unrefined or "laggy" compared to other cars The new 2.5l hybrid is coming out in next couple of years with 240hp and 70mpg+ on the IS and has lithium ion batteries. I believe it's also coming with the new multistage CVT gearbox and Lexus are working on a plug in as well but it's taking time due to testing for reliability.
  7. Nope if you have TSB number then you can do it at home using Lexus Service website.
  8. Yes there are some holes there. AFAIK the mud flaps don't fit into the actual bodywork but sit there. The actual fittings go into the arches where the carpet lining is Update - did some research and they fit into the wheel arches with plastic clips. They just rest on the body but don't fit into the body itself. Looks pretty idiot proof to fit as well
  9. Advance comes with reversing camera as well After updating my software to the latest version it's been smooth sailing. Infotainment system is responsive and no issues with phone connections
  10. They're just plastic pieces that fit easily using plastic bolts I don't really like mud flaps. I think they ruin the lines of any car. You'll notice that yhe wheels are set inwards and the body sticks out slightly. I presume it's for economy but it helps regarding dirt too, doesn't get as dirty as the IS which has wheels which are flush
  11. Glad that worked. Probably should have said that eco mode actually makes the AC warm up slower as it tries to save energy. I'm also fairly light on the brakes as my car is used mainly on commutes with stop start traffic. I dont do anything special with brakes just do a hard braking manoeuvre once every few months or something.
  12. Disagree. I drove one just to see the hype and wasn't won over at all. Yes it's got instant torque and quite a lot of tech but hey, my cars are garaged so don't have any frosted screens. The quality of the Leaf is crap as well. With the IS it feels like luxury, the Leaf feels inferior to my sons VW Polo inside The worst bit is the range. It's absolutely shocking. Couldn't even get my son to York and back without being worried about the range. It officially said 7 miles when I got back. Plug in Electric Golf is much much better
  13. Suffers from sticking brakes in the winter after washing. If you decide to wash, take for a spin or keep the parking brake off. No issues with the battery. I've left my car (currently on holiday) and i don't doubt it'll start straight up. Mine is 4.5 years old, original battery. The brakes are checked on service so nothing you have to do specifically. Can't say any other issues exist. The ones you mentioned for the 400h are very rare on that model and non existent on 3RX Disc and pad wear is very very good. I'm on 50% wear and covered 42K miles.
  14. It's just a facelift so not much attention will be paid to it. They're more prioritised with the LC, new LS, GS and CT which are coming out in the next few years. THe NX is also getting a facelift. The infotainment in the LC is the new generation one and it works very well.
  15. I've driven many cars and the wipers, sensors and adaptive cruise control is fine. The car is 2013, not 2016 btw. It's been put for 3 years
  16. Looks a good product actually and should be quite durable. Thanks for posting.
  17. That's a good deal for cars which need frequent alignment The thing is, ive had my car for 5 years and the alignment is still bang on
  18. Agreed. Hence when I buy a car I give them the price I want to pay, details of PX and bits I want adding on. Then I just walk out, tell them to ring if they can do it or not bother. 9 times out of 10 I get a phone call 3-5 days later.
  19. Omg I guess you've come of age lol Yep the E class is certainly very long. One of my colleagues has one at work and it sticks out of the standard car parking spaces we made and it's usually parked next to mine
  20. They're not going to use android auto. They declared it a while back as there's no being sure of what direction android will take
  21. The auto button is for switching between recirculation and air from outside automatically depending on air quality The trick to warm the car up quick is leave in auto (climate control one). What some people do is leave it on let's say 22 degrees and put fan up to max. All this does is blow cold air out and then warm it up again once the air has been heated In auto it should leave fan speed on 0 until the air is warm and then crank it up automatically.
  22. The wiper stalk should click down.the highest setting is single wipe and this one will click downwards automatically to off settinf, next one down is Auto and the rest are intermittent wipe settings of different speed. There is a wheel on the same stalk which adjusts sensitivity. Just move it up and down, the mother upward setting is highest sensitivity
  23. People usually look at paper figures. Hence £280, 33mpg doesn't look as good as £20 and 45mpg on the face of it. It's only when cars start breaking down that they end up spending more and not realising it's cost more overall
  24. Red circles you say? Could be that you've added some destinations leaving a big red circle. May also be speed cameras?
  25. Agreed with this. The RX seems to be the family workhorse in the Lexus range and therefore most will have quite a few blemishes unless the owners are like me and really look after their cars! After looking at multiple RXs even after buying mine (usually when my car goes in for servicing) and just being curious, I found many to have touched up areas and poor seat condition. Some even had marks where people put baby seats in without placing a towel or similiar underneath. My youngest is 7 and still requires a car seat but what I've done to combat wear is to get a long pile hardwearing carpet, cut it to size for the base of the seat and stuck it on with some super glue :)
