  1. Expect to see a modification in list prices with all the options from the manufacturer ;)
  2. Seems about right pricing wise for an independent dealer. Does the car have full Lexus service history? The warranty probably wont cover much apart from the actual 2.5l engine and the CVT transmission. Its unlikely to cover hybrid components.
  3. RX450h is certainly wider and longer.
  4. Only you can decide on the ride quality and performance after an extended test drive. Its totally subjective, some will say its fine, others not so much. As for the F-Sport, theoretically it should be stiffer than the other models, practically, some owners have said the opposite. However, the F-Sport does handle better if thats what you want. Also worth knowing that the difference in size between the RX and NX is marginal.
  5. He's talking out of his backside. As mentioned already, manufacturer tyre pressure ratings take heat into account. Overinflating tyres isn't going to cause a crash unless it goes over the maximum PSI rate on the tyre (usually around 50PSI or so but check on the sidewall). If you start putting the RC and IS on 30psi instead of the pressure they should be at, take a look at how flat the sidewall looks
  6. Very interesting - your review pretty much sums up my initial test drives and then ownership experience. I love the RX now and seems to fit my lifestyle perfectly. Yesterday I took my father in law to the airport. Without putting the rear seats down, it carried 4 large suitcases and 2 smaller ones with multiple carrier bags and other bits. I still had space around the corners as well. Granted I couldn't see out the rear window but heck, its still enough for me! With regard to the ML, I found it quite flat at first but you need to play with the equaliser settings and it sounds much better. DAB is rubbish anyway regardless of settings IMO. BTW you have to do this for each source individually as FM sounds better with lower bass IMO. Also, for the paint Id probably recommend a ceramic coating instead of a sealant. Menzerna powerlock is a bog standard sealant, wont protect from stone chips or scratches. On the other hand something like CQUARTZUK makes an actual 4 micron barrier on the paint and becomes as hard as glass - net result being less scratches on the actual paint.
  7. Stick it in SNOW mode and off you go No drama really although I do have all seasons tyres on mine But I cant remember having problems with Dunlop summer tyres either.
  8. Yes dipped beams are LED's whereas the high beams are halogen Go on Menu > setup > vehicle > vehicle customisation > Light settings The sensitivity should be there, just hit minus a few times and then save it.
  9. Yes I get mild car sickness if looking downwards when a car is moving, perhaps at a book or something. I don't get it if my eyes can see what my brain knows is going on! Nausea can be caused by a few things, check the windscreen is clear for a start. Some valeters tend to clean the windscreen poorly and instead leave smears which cause the eyes to strain, hence can cause glare and eventually nausea. It may be due to the relatively firm ride and poor road surfaces as well, especially if you're previous car was more cossetting. Other factors could be claustrophobia. The CT is fairly enclosed and has relatively poor visibility compared to something like a VW Golf for example as they have lower shoulders and hence larger windows.
  10. I like this guy - very detailed and thorough
  11. Brilliant review IMO. Honestly covered, to the point, good sense of humour and professionally presented. Hats off to you!
  12. The grill has been on Lexus for the past 4 years now, it was bound to happen. There are 5 wheel options to choose from ranging from 19-20 inch and there is a full length panoramic sunroof shown in some cars. They have a black glass roof in contrast to the cars with standard sunroof that just have a cutout glass piece. Full length moonroof: The car in the video looks much better than the pictures and Ive found that angles dont photograph well - the car itself looks insane - theres nothing like it on the road especially when you see how big the thing is.
  13. Seems an odd and random problem. Might be worth checking battery terminals and key fob battery as mentioned. Might sort the issue out.
  14. The full beam on the 3RX is halogen I believe. Both LED lamps on each headlight are dipped beam and you can just see the halogen high beams medial to them. Ive found that reducing the sensitivity of the headlights to the lowest setting is best as it seems to on only when its somewhat dark rather than at random times.
  15. I wonder if it could be the battery issue that some cars had where the terminals were loose? Worth checking anyway, If the sensor was faulty indicating the car was in park, surely the hybrid system would start regardless?
  16. Work fine on all Lexus vehicles I've driven. The only issue is that the RX doesn't wipe if there's water already on the screen whereas the IS does.
  17. First thing id check is alignment. Sons VW polo had significant negative camber (unwanted) and needed jumping on to get it to turn. I thought it was normal when i drove it home and perhaps i was too used to Lexus steering. Anyway i checked tyres, inner edge had worn down to the wires. Had alignment done and it's back to being light
  18. Worth taking a test drive to make sure it works anyway. However, even if it doesn't work, the sat nav is good enough. It's never not recognised a 7 digit postcode and always got me to where I want to be.
  19. Yep it should outlast the car. Some prius taxi have 500k on them on original batteries
  20. Works on the IS if you turn it on on your phone first and then the menu lights up. Usually it's just greyed out
  21. Unfortunately only an American thing. I believe google maps works via mirror link though Can't say I've had any issues with Lexus Nav either. Mine is 4.5 years old, didn't bother updating as roads don't change all that much. It's never let me down
  22. I agree. The trick is to keep momentum and I've found it helps mpg alot
  23. An NX will get 35+mpg if you're doing those kind of mileages no problem. Test drive average is always low as the car barely gets time to get warm.
