  1. In the past 5 years of owning my RX, I have only used the foglights once. The IS foglights have never been turned on
  2. Might be the original tyres. They're dreadful for noise
  3. Those are disgusting! Id rather get my wife unexpectedly pregnant and deal with the consequences than catch a glimpse of those monstrosities everytime I go into the garage! Suppose its a good excuse to crash a car Cant even hope that someone would pinch them either, they'd be caught within minutes!
  4. Yep thats not the original paint colour. Thats Phantom Gray 1E3, Toyota paint. Its deemed as the unofficial touch up. Its very close as makes no difference on a small section but its definitely not exactly the same as factory The original IS-F wheels from factory have a black and silver mixed paint but the ratio has never been discovered. The problem we have now is that there's so many different colours out there and hardly any of the IS-F's are on the original wheels. Most of the refurbed wheels tend to be too dark. Original colour below: ] We didn't get the above in the UK but they're from the same BBS factory and the same colour
  5. Mine has just the one in the rear seat area. There used to be a hatch one but I realised it was just the cover on the actual tailgate from which the 2 clips had come off. I put the 2 clips back into position and that went.
  6. Stuck wheel nuts are usually not a problem with correct torque settings. In theory, they should never get stuck at the right torque. I can only think that a pneumatic impact wrench was used to tighten them until they were clicking!
  7. Adrian Flux have never been competitive for me. Im paying £750 altogether for both cars on a multicar policy. Adrian Flux wanted £1200 just for my RX. Something to note is that most insurance companies tempt you with a cheap quote for the first year and then inflate it upon renewal hoping you won't bother changing. Therefore, its normally advised to keep changing policies every year unless ofc you get a cheap renewal Its also worth remembering that add ons like misfuelling cover and key care will inflate the price. Do you really need them?? With regard to the NCP, you are correct in saying that premiums would increase if you were in a non-fault accident. However, they would increase by a greater margin if you didn't have a protected NCP. I think the reason behind it is that insurance companies count you as higher risk if you've made a claim regardless of fault. Dont ask me how they work that out but most likely the statistics are showing that people who claim once end up claiming more often
  8. Turns out Lexus have a shortage of vehicles as well. They're selling like hotcakes in the US and they're at a point where they have short supply
  9. Fair enough, it just looked dark in the photo.
  10. Thats not true. You can use SNOW mode in all slippery conditions including icy roads. All it does is change the throttle mapping and I believe the car starts off in simulated gear 2 to prevent slipping, hence why the car feels quite heavy and planted in SNOW mode. It won't cause any long term damage if you're using it in the winter.
  11. Ah, well in that case yes, its completely normal. The sensors are very sensitive and quick so will behave like that.
  12. Most likely in the region of £500-1000 on used cars. Its probably registered on their name so will have 1 owner. Doesn't really matter though in the grand scheme of things as you do get a good car for a good price.
  13. Ive always liked the red! Yes as other comments have said, the wheels are non-standard colour. The originals were pretty much like CharlieC's wheels. There's no paint code for the original wheel colour so its a case of just getting a close match. The illuminated scuff plates are £400 accessories I believe. Looking at your pics, it seems that the front grill has also been blacked out - they're originally chrome
  14. I can only suggest trying it when the car is on then. If it doesnt work try taking it back to the dealer and see what they say
  15. Ive got to say, taking a look at the C63 pic again, it has a drug dealer vibe to it. I think it must be the black rims! Stereotypes galore!
  16. The mud flaps look naff on the IS IMO, ruins the lines! The 2017MY IS300h F-Sport for sale by Lexus Birmingham doesn't have the mud flaps on it. Seems a fairly well discounted price as well.
  17. Good result How did they check it was an old dent? Makes me think they knew it was already there but decided not to fix it and see if you'd notice.
  18. I dont think thats true. I believe all the showroom and demo vehicles seem to have protection pack fitted to them which includes the mud flaps in them On a side note, they've botched up the pricing on the IS300h F-Sport with Premier pack - its £40995 so will go into £450 a year tax band!
  19. Id say get the sensor checked out . It shouldn't really be turning on before about 4.30pm on a clear day at this time of year.
  20. Yes driven the C63 albeit in saloon form. Its definitely more of a muscle car than the IS-F as it doesn't really handle all that well IMO. Dont know about how you're finding it but it used to spin its wheels on every occasion including roundabouts, traffic lights etc. Maybe it was just my size 12 foot Ive only driven the later IS-F's and found the ride to be about the same. The build quality of Mercs of that era weren't great, huge slabs of plastic in the centre console and dash. The new C63 is really good though and built quality is better - would I take it over an RC-F? Probably not as Ive never been one to go with the crowd
  21. Yep normal. If leaving for more than 24 hours, leave the Parking Brake off.
  22. Doesnt mean anything though. People usually look at whatcar, topgear, autoexpress or carwow reviews nowadays
  23. 1) as above, the headlights can be adjusted. I keep mine on the lowest setting otherwise they come on too soon 2) You can play around with the PSI. I keep mine on 36-38psi 3) Some cars have rattles and some dont. Ive never been in a single car that doesn't have rattles bar the wife's IS300h so far (touch wood) but no idea on where it could be coming from. Get a passenger to sit in the back and point it out. 4) Makes a slight noise but not a creak as such.
  24. Its definitely worth a test drive - you won't be able to put your foot down for long in the 400h/450h thats for sure, especially on public roads. The CVT in the RX is actually an e-CVT, a planetary gear system rather than belts and pullies
  25. I doubt any police will notice but the insurance company will certainly pick up on all season tyres on the front and summer tyres on the rear if something were to happen. The car has to be road legal and different rated tyres on the same axle would result in failure and I would presume different types i.e. all seasons up front and summers on back would invalidate an MOT.
