  1. Its supposed to last 1-2 years apparently but yes its steep for what you get. Says 15ml is for 17" wheels, 30ml should be used for larger wheels which is £42. The IS wheels are 18" and my RX is on 19" The Planet polish has been getting 6 months from 2 coats making it ridiculously cheap in comparison
  2. LA00 seems to be the 1st gen IS colour referred to as "Tan" in the states I believe the 2nd gen IS beige interior colour was called "cashmere beige" in the US Bare in mind that Lexus use some of the softest leather going in the car industry right now. The downside ofc is increased wear
  3. Yes Sonax BSD can go on any surface, including glass and plastics. I wouldn't advise using on the windscreen though as it leaves streaks when wipers run across. You can add about 3 coats of BSD before it becomes a waste of product. I usually just stick to one coat as it gives me about 1-2 months of protection and its extremely easy to do.
  4. Agreed. The picture don't do the wheels justice really. They are extremely shiny and I could visually see a better shine when removing the Planet Polish wheel seal and shine. If the wheel sealant helps to keep the dust off (the IS is so bad for brake dust) or atleast makes it easier to clean with just a shampoo and soft brush rather than using a dedicated wheel cleaner, then it would be worth it. I guess the wheel beading up is also a bonus!
  5. Mirrors some of my views of the GS-F. Its certainly better than an RC-F for sure. It seems like they realised the mistakes of the RC-F and developed the GS-F that one bit further. The brakes in the GS-F are better even though they're the same spec as the RC-F ones. Have to say that some bits were definitely added more for effect/humour rather than being true. The few examples I could point out: 1) Its actually quite hard to hit the remote touch when getting a drink (in one scene you can tell that JC's hand went towards the drink and he bobbed it down before getting it). Its even harder still to get it to turn on the nav as soon as you hit it. Initially, it'll just go to the nav screen and show "destination, route" etc etc 2) Not well equipped (again, probably for the sake of humour as the car even has HUD and TVD as standard and a whole host of other things not standard on M5 etc
  6. Yep, hate the Yoko's they put on the CT, they're so loud!
  7. Private - £16500-17500 Trade - £14500-15500
  8. All keyboard warriors who haven't driven a Fiat 500 let alone M4's, RC-F's etc. However, the article does suggest the RC-F has taken a massive hit. Perfect for second hand buyers!
  9. Unlikely to bolt 2 turbos onto the current V8. Its likely to be an all new engine.
  10. I would give confused.com a try. I believe they are part of the Admiral group and therefore tend to give the best prices for Admiral and Bell on there.
  11. Same here. I got told the traditional warm up was mainly for older cars with carburettors to prevent them stalling. Also found that idling would probably take 10-15 mins to warm the car up. It'd be warm in 5 through normal driving.
  12. Agree completely, hence Ive only stayed with the same company for a maximum of three years. I always check the prices upon renewal and I only renew if its the cheapest quote I get. Something to note with the comparison sites though is when you click through to the insurer, check your details as Ive found on many occasions that some of them have been filtered through wrong or the comparison site didnt ask certain questions. Ive found them to almost always affect the price be it for better or worse
  13. Ooh you're going to have your work cut out on black! Everything shows up on it. The white is actually quite forgiving, there's a few light scratches here and there from finger nails and stones flicking up but you can only see them when they get engrained with dirt. The car needs a good going over with Autoglym SRP to get all the dirt out!
  14. Its all based on statistics. Street parking is cheaper because the statistics show that a lower proportion of cars get stolen from streets with keys. If you're car is in a garage, they know which house to steal the keys from. Same thing with the mileage - their databases show the annual mileage of drivers who claim the most and they adjust the premium accordingly. Upon renewal (Admiral) my multicar policy went up to £890. I had paid £764 the year before and nothing had changed, in-fact, the value of the cars had dropped and our NCD had gone up to 17 and 13 years. Granted, it was the cheapest quote I had obtained anyway as brokers wanted £1000+ for each car. I rang renewals department and asked why it went up. The woman asked a few questions, all of which I said no to and the price went down to £750. I believe its a sales tactic - inflate the prices and some people either won't notice or it'll be cheapest for them anyway and they'll automatically renew.
  15. The hills here kill the MPG anyway. It doesn't recover as much MPG going down as it loses going up a hill. Also worth remembering that the IS300h does give a "Low Engine Oil" warning if its really low.
  16. The pictures dont really do the product justice. The Sonax BSD was from ECP and its always worth ordering some when there's a sale on. The trick is to make an X on each panel and just buff it around - not much is needed at all and it has some cleaning properties in it so you will end up with a dirty cloth afterwards. I think I must have done both cars 4 times now and still have half a bottle left. It leaves a grabby surface though - dont expect it to be smooth. Thats the secret behind its water behaviour apparently.
  17. Have you got a service checklist stating whats been completed? If so, I would take it to the dealer and tell them whats been happening. Any chance of it being a bad batch of fuel?
  18. It was freezing outside yesterday - 4 degrees! The missus decided to tell me I was being lazy and her car needed washing - took a look at the wheel and was like whoa (only 2 weeks worth of brake dust). Car was washed with Carchem 1900:1 shampoo (Leather Oak scented and smells divine), wheels done with Valetpro Bilberry at 5:1 and arches with diluted APC. All dried with a MF drying towel and then a coat of RainX on the rear screen and the rear side windows. I don't like using it on the windscreen so used PowerMaxed Rain Off instead. Finally, Sonax BSD applied to the car (amazing - literally takes 10 minutes to do the whole car, lasts 3 months and the water behaviour is unparalleled). Anyway, my hands were too cold to master my phone so I only took afters! The paint quality on these still amazes me! Yes its soft paint and I swear the old couple in the shopping centre car park scratched it by staring when I activated "Stealth mode" but its probably the smoothest, most reflective paint this side of £40k and - because I got fed up with taking ages to clean the wheels - Ive invested in some Planet Polish Wheel Seal and Shine (video attached). Its just under a tenner and came with a small sponge for application. The sponge itself is quite soft and easy to get into the spokes. The product itself comes in a 250ml bottle but I only used 2 pea sized drops for each wheel so will last absolutely ages. Initial impressions are good with application and removal extremely straightforward - only gave the one coat and beading is looking fine! Ill let you know how it goes
  19. Buying outright or finance? Carwow has a good discount on them if buying outright. All from dealers ofc so you can ask about finance if required
  20. Most likely, the cold weather is to blame. No idea which part of Yorkshire you're in but where I live the temperature has fallen significantly since November. I believe it was about 10-12 degrees in November, its about 3-8 here on most days. From what you've said, you're gaining 215 miles from £35, and using a rough price of £1.18 for petrol thats about 29.7L. You're getting roughly 7.24 miles/L which is 32.91 MPG. Depending on what kind of distances you are doing, its very likely that the engine takes longer to warm up and sometimes may not even get fully warm. My wife's IS300h is doing about the same MPG so wouldnt really worry yet. My wife's IS makes a rattle upon starting the engine first thing on a morning - it doesn't do this when driving however.
  21. Would be crazy if they made it even higher than it is already. It's expensive compared to other brands anyway
  22. Thats extremely odd. Both my cars are on service plans. The IS is on 2 intermediates and 1 full for £935 - 23 monthly payments of £38.95 and deposit of £39.15. RX is on something similiar but its £1295 in total due to 60k service included in it. Forgot to mention that I get half price MOT so only works out £27
  23. Eh? The service plan should be the same price as the initial 3 services bought separately. I certainly only paid that amount and no more. Make sure they havent added a "Admin fee" or something similiar My service plan includes - free full valet each year, puncture repair for all cars in close family, 10% off parts and free monthly wash if I required (I dont use it though). Also includes a guaranteed courtesy car or pick up service
  24. 8 speed is on RX350 F Sport which we don't get. All RX450Hs have the same engine setup. On a side note, I've been getting 23 mpg this last week! Been cold though and only covered 50 miles
  25. Yep it's now fixed price for servicing unless you buy the car new so really you should be able to get a discount on it. I'd prob go for the grey. The black looks too black imo. Saw one in the showroom and the front just looked odd as there was no contrast
