Does look great. I was considering getting one for mine but in the end couldn't justify the cost even with 10% off parts and a discount. Quote was £350 fitted but in the end decided to give it a miss and then forgot about it. -
Nothing wrong with the Sport. Arguably the best value trim in the line-up

Hope you didn't pay for that. I believe they sell it for £300 and it costs £25 in the trade Doesn't work and good luck on the guarantee! Watch how many excuses they make when you say it doesn't work "Sorry sir, you weren't washing the car with the dedicated £50 a bottle, galactic space foam gold lined super shampoo" "Oh and you can't visit a hand car wash" "Or even a automatic car wash" "Actually, you shouldn't be washing your car once its been applied" "You took it off by looking at it" "You shouldn't have parked your car under a tree" "You shouldn't park your car outside" "In fact, you should always keep your car covered with our £500 GardX Bomb Protection car cover with its PTFE, non stick coating and premium materials blended from Sumatran Striped Rabbit fur, Lion's mane and Kevlar" "The fact of the matter is sir, that GardX is designed to protect your car when stationary, hence, should not be driven after application - it's the main thing our suppliers forget to tell you - we're extremely sorry for the inconvenience. However, we will make things right and as a goodwill gesture, give you the royal middle finger"- 42 replies

RX400h Brakes Banging
rayaans replied to lexusloopy's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Does it make the sound when taking off first thing on a morning or all the time? If its just first thing on a morning, its completely normal and caused by a combination of rain and cold weather causing the brake discs to rust and therefore stick. They release with a little bang. It'll only stick completely if left over a long period of time so if you go on holiday, keep the parking brake off. -
NX 300h - Mud flaps yes or no

Stick out like a sore thumb to me. Probably more so because it sticks out away from the actual body of the car and you can see the seams. I think I would defo go without. -
I see your car has the dreaded boomerang on the drivers seat This used to happen on early cars - can replace the seat under warranty if you visit the dealer about it as its not a normal wear and tear issue.

Generally I just compare the premium brands on ratings and choose the one with the best rating that's also relatively cheap.

NX 300h - Mud flaps yes or no

No from me on any car - they look hideous! -
Probably because its the best looking version Its like how BMW hand over M-Sport's and Audi hand over S-Line models so they can get some nice photos published. Always makes me wonder what they compare ride to as well. Ive driven plenty of IS loaners and we own an IS F-Sport. Ive never noticed the ride to be harsh and there's hardly any difference between the premier and F-Sport anyway. When you start comparing it to the likes of BMW 320d M-Sport, the ride is actually much smoother.

The RX300 did not have parking sensors fitted from the factory. Therefore, they must be dealer fitted and unrepresentative of factory fitted RX450h front sensors. I presume you have a pre-facelift RX450h? They only seem to have 2 sensors, one on each corner which won't pick up things in the middle. They changed this for 2012 whereby they now come with 4 sensors at the front and therefore, I can say that mine have been very good at picking many things up. Make sure the distance is set to "long" Mine have been very good. They will not pick up certain things like very thin poles or low walls, however, they should pick up most things. Personally the first thing I would check is the parking sensor distance - if this is set to "short" turn it to "Long" and it seems to work much much better.

Oh go on, you know you want to! Besides, its valentines day and the car requires attention :P dont tell the mrs! Get a cheeky 50/50 in there with some masking tape as well -
For next time: Add the product to your basket. Then click on the basket in the top right corner. In your basket itll show the product and just under the product picture, it says "Gift Certificate/Promo Code". Stick the code in there and follow through as normal But yeah, Carparts4less are selling them really cheap at the moment.

Insurance or not?
rayaans replied to DanD's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
In an accident situation they are perfect if you're not at fault. However, the problem arises when you are at fault. They can, and will implicate the driver and the victim's insurance company will ask for dashcam footage if you have declared it to your insurance company. But going onto hit and run incidents, unless someone is seriously injured, the footage is of no relevance other than a memoir -

I highly doubt that Paul has Vestibular Neuronitis. Its essentially the same as Labyrinthitis (inner ear infection) but without hearing problems and causes balance problems but also dizziness, blurred vision and they are usually spontaneous, early morning or in the afternoon. It doesn't usually need treatment, seems to settle down itself in a few weeks and management is conservative. From what I can work out, he seems to be getting nausea only when driving the car which would mean its something in the car or the car itself. Also from the description of it settling down, it seems it could be related to the smell in the car which would naturally dissipate over time

Lexus Paint Protector
rayaans replied to NXnoob's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The 3G glass coat is slightly different in that its an actual ceramic sealant. The product itself is great and works. The problem seems to come from the application. Ive seen a few rushed cars where bits were missed and therefore the whole car would bead in the rain after being washed........ apart from a few bits on the bonnet, bootlid and doors! Id say it looked worse than a car with no protection on it as it left odd patterns on the paintwork- 42 replies

Im unsure about what a dash cam would achieve in situations like these. The footage is next to useless. Hand it to the police and they'll stick their hands up and won't do anything. Instead, I guess its a good tool for getting some subscribers and views on Youtube. Seems to be a recurring theme of car owners with dash cams to comment/use vulgar language towards other people's driving and upload it onto the internet. -
You have 2 options: 1) Purchase refills from Lexus/Toyota and fit into the current plastic frame 2) Purchase Denso blades from Eurocarparts which I believe are the same. This is the cheaper option especially as they have 30% off for valentines day - code LOVE30. And ECP always has free delivery on anything too. If you put in your reg it'll come up with the denso blades when clicking through to the wiper blades page

PLANNING TO PURCHASE IS 300H
rayaans replied to GregB's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Depends on how long you're in traffic for. If I were you, Id get a 24 hour IS300h test drive from a Lexus dealer, take it on your commute and see what MPG you get first- 45 replies

Most likely you'd need to go to a repair specialist to get a colour match. There is a sensitivity rotating dial thing on the wiper stalk which may help. Try putting sensitivity up and playing with it. Sounds odd that it doesnt wipe when the stalk is pushed up though

The 2017 IS comes with Lane Keep Assist which tries to keep you in the lane rather than Lane Depature Alert which just informs you that you're about to move out of the lane. On a side note - has anyone else noticed that the Lexus UK configurator only shows "electrically adjustable steering column" on the Premier model?

As far as im aware, there's no colour code for the red leather seats. Really it should be something that the dealer should have sorted out.

Lexus Paint Protector
rayaans replied to NXnoob's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
To answer your primary question, the Supagard will not prevent you from getting swirls and scratches. In reality, supagard is a glorified sealant which does nothing more than stick to the paint and prevent contamination from bird poo, brake dust etc. Now, supagard in itself is not a bad product for the price (£30 or so off ebay). However, Ive found that many dealers sell it at an inflated price mostly consisting of labour charges and whoever applies it makes a half-hearted attempt resulting in poor protection and ultimately, premature failure. Essentially, what you are after is a ceramic sealant. These include the likes of CQUARTZUK, Gtechniq Exo and Nanolex Si3D In all honesty, I would say (and I have a lot of experience with these coatings) that there's no point going beyond the realms of the ones mentioned above. There are many coatings out there and all pretty much have the same durability and properties, the only difference is their price points and ease of application. Im a big fan of CQUARTZUK actually, its cheap and cheerful yet still punches well above its weight. The thing to remember is that new coatings come out every year or so and they receive lots of hype for the sake of being NEW!- 42 replies
