  1. On a side note, worth remembering that if P/Xing the car - the options are worth maybe £1k more in total. Lexus dealers really don't offer a higher price for more options However, they do see it as a profit maker i.e. they'll give you a similiar P/X price to a base model but when it comes to listing the car on their website, will mark up the price considerably compared to a base model.
  2. Volvo CTA is rear only. Scroll down to the bottom: https://www.media.volvocars.com/global/en-gb/media/pressreleases/148124/all-new-xc90-innovative-intellisafe-solutions-make-tricky-parking-and-tight-manoeuvres-easy-and-safe The auto steering is different - my RX can steer itself between lines - thats just the Lane keep assist. The tracing is mainly for the adaptive cruise control so it doesn't get confused on corners etc
  3. Torque vectoring - you can certainly feel the difference but in day to day driving, its probably not an option you want to tick as the standard LSD is fine for UK roads. Its expensive at nearly £4k too. ACC/PCS- Id expect this to be standard on the facelift. It works well but can get confused sometimes (quite rare) Dont know the relationship between TVD and ML - doesn't make sense to me either.
  4. Just booked my wife's IS300H for service on 30th August. Long list of things to do for Lexus Bradford: - Full Service, MOT, courtesy car, full valet, Recall work and Driver door light which doesn't have a cable after they repaired it.
  5. I'd get in touch with Lexus GB as a non responsive dealer is bad. I agree with Mikey999 about Lexus Cheltenham. Their prep is poor and sales is average at best. They also have a Porsche selling strategy i.e thr cars sell themselves at their advertised price or slightly less. They also offer the worst p/x prices out offer all premium brands and lowest discounts. I'm a die hard Lexus guy but some offered the dealers are shocking. I'm glad my local dealer, Lexus Bradford are top notch, and tbh, the experience at Leeds has been positive as well.
  6. I understand your concern as I share the same ones! However, with Lexus you can generally be sure that your car will be looked after. I've been in the workshop and have seen my car being worked on (and others inside the workshop at the time). I've tried to answer your questions as best as possible below. Lexus will take the key from you and it all works on trust. I've never had a Lexus service manager give me a courtesy car and check the condition of it before exchanging keys. However, the service tech will do a quick damage assessment to cover major damage and you'll get this on the visual inspection sheet. If there is damage to a car after service, they usually won't try to deny it as long as you don't drive the car away so check thoroughly when collecting after service. I don't think they remove wheels for a service - however, they tighten the nuts using a torque wrench and remove them with pneumatic air gun. If they do need to remove wheels, they're placed on a holder. Im not aware of them using magnetic wing covers. They cover the wings with a cloth but its certainly not magnetic. I very much doubt they'd use a cheaper oil than recommended. It will be or should be Genuine Toyota oil 0W20. I've never had an issue with them washing the car - my dealers have always done a good job and have specialist valeters working on all cars rather than backstreet wash boys. I've never been disappointed. Additionally, just because a product is PH neutral, doesn't mean it wont strip your protection off. However, they do use TFR so that will remove any protection on the car, or atleast degrade it. The mechanics will park the car in the car park - if you look carefully, you'll see that these spaces are genuinely massive (american size!) so no issues with people damaging your car - They usually park all the cars to be collected next to each other anyway
  7. Might be interested in one of these - let me know when it arrives and how it looks (pics if possible!)
  8. Front cross-traffic alert/braking and reverse auto brake are world firsts. No other cars come with these systems. I believe lane tracing is a new technology as well - other cars only have forward vision for the radar cruise whereas the LS will trace the movement of the car in front and watch the lines at the same time to prevent confusion around bends. Tesla is the only car maker which has auto lane changing like the LS. Essentially, the LS has capability to drive itself, just cannot do so because of legislation.
  9. Battery life is 2 years according to Lexus for the key fobs. If servicing at Lexus, they replace key fob batteries on every Full service.
  10. The only issue is, a dashcam is useless in a small car park. Due to the height of the RX, and the particular place on the vehicle where the scratches seem to occur, I would bet that 9/10 times, the dashcam would fail to provide a reg as the reg itself would be too low.
  11. Listers Lexus group in general are not as honest as some of the others. Again, mixed results when buying my RX - wasnt particularly happy about the prep of the car and change of private reg - they make it a farce compared to other dealers who just get it done.
  12. Yes, usually what happens is that an insurer will put their prices down 1 year if they need more sales/customers and then hike them the next year. The price difference between comparison sites is based on the commission. For example, if gocompare is taking more commission than confused.com, their Esure prices will be higher than confused.com esure prices. Also, I believe Admiral and Bell are part of confused.com so it can be found that their prices are usually very competitive.
  13. Yes, Michelin Cross Climates and Dunlop Sport Maxx RT are very good. I don't think you can get better tyres for the CT than these two at the moment.
  14. Lexus Japan have released multiple videos of the upcoming safety technology that will be debuting in the new Lexus LS. Of course, the main up side is that all the technology will most likely come on the LS as standard whereas they cost ££££ in other manufacturers (some of this tech is also world first)
  15. You've been dreaming it. Historically Lexus don't auto lock after the car has been used. It only locks if the car is unlocked and doors not opened after a while
  16. Amplifier sounds bust for sure.
  17. Yes it does. I tried it on my sons mk5 golf and that maintains speed down a steep hill. It doesn't get faster but also doesn't put brake lights on.
  18. Yes but would be put to bed almost immediately
  19. Yes there is. Its the same on all Lexus models post 2012. When you go into the settings the displayed bricks are a different colour. If you choose the furthest one, the sensors will come on earlier (1m from the obstacle). If you put it on the one closer to the vehicle, they'll start coming on at 50cm from the obstacle. Ive just made the figures up to demonstrate the point but thats how it works.
  20. Look extremely light - should come out no problem with some polish.
  21. None of that is relevant The OP was in lane, the other vehicle moved from another lane into the OP's lane without indicators. If it wanted to go into the 1st lane on the left, it should have been done at the first instance, not later on unless indicating. Additionally, what OP did after the incident doesn't matter - he may have changed his mind, he may have gone into the other lane to pull a finger at the driver etc.
  22. The 200t isn't being dropped elsewhere - only in the UK I think. Its already been dropped on Lexus UK website for the IS and NX but awkwardly, the RC200T still soldiers on - perhaps its selling better, who knows? The GS200t doesn't really make much sense in America and it wouldn't in the UK either due to the 350 being only a little more in the US and the 300h being the leader of sales for the GS in the UK. The 200t seems to do OK in Australia and Asia but they are extremely small markets.
  23. Yes, the screen can be timed out after 1 min, 3 mins or 5 mins. I set it to timeout after 3 minutes.
  24. Appears that the CT is about to get a new competitor Was in Granada, Spain for 5 days and they were testing what appears to be the new Merc A-class! Awkwardly, I wanted to go UP in the lift and the lift was going down to -2 which is the lower underground car parking level for the hotel. The guy inside probably didn't realise I knew about cars and I was with kids so he went down to that level regardless. Anyway, The whole floor only had 5 of these camouflaged A-classes on it. Grabbed my phone and tried to take a picture but the swarm of people reacted and blocked it! Anyway, got some outside when they were unloading them!
  25. It appears that testing for the next generation GS/ES is in its final stages. Both prototypes were spotted testing against a Merc E-class and an Audi A6. Awkwardly, no BMW 5 series was seen. The above appears to be an F-Sport variant with its mesh grill and the spindle grill itself has been heavily camouflaged. Not much else can be seen apart from the fact that this model has a panoramic sunroof and the mirrors are identical to the LC which would suggest this is in fact a Lexus and not a Toyota. We still don't know whether its going to be FWD or RWD either - and the vehicles its been testing with don't give any clues too! Having said that, the front overhang is relatively large suggesting this may be an FWD model after all. What we can see however, is that the GS/ES has a sleeker, more coupe like profile The rear of the Next gen appears to be very similiar to the current GS.
