  1. Probably because the GS is really long and doesn't have useable boot space If you have small kids, an SUV is much easier to get them in/out from car seats and the boot can take much more, including bulkier items. Additionally, the AWD is a factor that many buyers like whereas the GS is RWD only. Big Saloon's just aren't in demand anymore. At one point you would see loads of 5ers, now its difficult. Same with the E-class although the new one seems to be making a comeback but thats because its a brilliant machine, especially in E43 AMG guise.
  2. Nope, its a Lexus only part and I believe its fused to the bumper, not just clipped on and therefore breakers won't want to risk removing it and damaging the bumper
  3. Use 2 buckets, a good wash mitt and good quality drying cloth for a start. No auto or hand car washes allowed. Check the detailing section - more info on there or see thread below and download the PDF
  4. That blue/ochre combination is good Yellow just looks a bit naff. And Sonic T looks boring as hell
  5. Nope, reason being, better vehicles out there - Golf MK7.5 is very difficult to beat with the new 1.5l Petrol engine. Also the reason for the deal is because the 2nd Facelift is going to come out so it'll shed £££ in value
  6. Last time I checked, groaning is different to a thud Get it checked out, might be brakes sticking a bit. These cars do get sticking parking brakes from time to time, especially in colder weather.
  7. The bolsters on the F-Sport are more pronounced, hence the increased wear - you'll catch it more often than if getting into a car with normal seats. With regard to the mileage covered - I expect more wear to be on an older car with less miles - it suggests short journeys and an "in,out, in, out" effect on the seats. Seems to happen on all cars with bolsters - Audi super sport seats get ripped within a year.
  8. No issues with the rear camera here. Its not full HD but does the job it intends to do - i.e. make sure you don't wack the backside into anything
  9. Yes the electric motors do whine in normal acceleration albeit only very slightly.
  10. thats an LX by the looks of it Both are plain ugly - fact, not opinion.
  11. Try IPA on wipers first.
  12. They do still go on these courses - but the courses themselves are rubbish. They don't learn the features of the car inside out - instead just drive it for a bit, sit in it for a bit, work out some basic stuff and thats it.
  13. Well, how glass sealant works is by going into the pores of the glass so yes, using Cerium Oxide which removed a layer of the glass will certainly remove it. Having said that, Id just try Barkeepers friend a few times until its gone rather than polishing glass - only done it once but it takes the pure mick
  14. I think Barkeepers friend is one way to remove these coatings and certainly the only way thats worked for me in the past.
  15. Thats why I use a "light" glass sealant like Powermaxed rain off. Beads very well on side and rear windows but tones down on the front after wiper use so it makes visibility better but can still use the wipers! On a side note, you're right about the lambswool brush - its now used for interior dusting! But, Lidl have a wheel cleaning brush - its basically a little noodle mitt in very stiff but flexible metal. The metal is all covered and it works extremely well and is very sturdy. Cost a grand total of £2.50
  16. I did try this back in the day when I was a fool! It made a smeary mess.... and was removed the next day
  17. To be fair, the majority of Lexus customers get good service and Lexus are consistently better than most dealers but the bad experiences do occur. However, it can be argued that its all subjective and possibly dependent on what service you've had before. When you get pampered by your local dealer and go to another Lexus dealer to find that their service isn't up there, it makes you feel that the service is bad - however, it was probably still much better than a Merc/BMW dealer. Having said that, it also depends on the buyer. Some buyers are naturally fussy and want everything to be perfect - therefore, more likely to be unhappy about something that didn't go quite as well as it should have. For others, they just want another car and aren't overly fussed with its condition etc.
  18. Im not so bothered about when they say they don't know but they should at least offer to find out and let the customer know. Back in the days, the salesmen were extremely good at their job and knew their products inside out - it seems nowadays, salesmen just go to the brand that's giving them the most pennies and hence seem to change jobs every 6 months
  19. Thats an RC convertible concept
  20. Not worth it The Premium fuels are only really good for high performance vehicles or those that suffer from carbon build up etc.
  21. The 12 speaker Pioneer system comes as a package called Premium Nav The ML is an option.
  22. Yes the ML is optional The majority were demos, press vehicles or pre-reg. They had significant trouble in the first year shifting them due to the Top Gear review and hence, significant discounts were given after the 1st year on these vehicles.
  23. I believe you can also mute the radio by holding the MODE button on the steering wheel Its funny how the dealers don't know these things - its in the manual as well and if I was Lexus, Id be insisting that they read the manual front to back for every model that comes out
  24. Yep, can take it off for a few seconds at a time - it'll keep itself in the lane but it does have an odd bouncing sensation to it.
  25. If that were true, they'd all be the same price! They add to dealer profits, that what it is!
