  1. The RC one won't fit properly due to the contours of the bumpers being different. If you look carefully at the cross section of the rear bumper on the RC, the lip is horizontal at first and curves straight away. On the IS, the cross section is horizontal, then theres a slight decline and then it becomes vertical. Excuse the crude picture of worktops but it illustrates the bumpers well. The RC has a single pencil round. On the other hand, the IS has a single bevel edge. Additionally, I don't think the RC has a stainless steel plate as an option. Its the same brushed alloy look that is available for the IS from RGM. The stainless steel plates are labelled as such and usually have sipes in them.
  2. As above comments. Something spilt and not been cleaned Try cleaning it yourself - can't hurt - may make it a bit better
  3. Repost I've already posted this video in the "2018 Lexus NX Facelift" thread. I strongly suggest you take a look at that thread.
  4. My son's VW Golf is Black Magic. Touch up works fine on it but you have to be aware that you can't just dab it on and leave it. It needs to be put in the right direction so the flakes are aligned in a similiar direction and then wet sanded to get it flat. For touch up of wheels your suggestion regarding colour swatch matching is probably the best. Otherwise, if you want to get the full wheel done, then its best to go to someone who uses a colour sampling machine.
  5. Parkers is a rubbish site and its books should be burnt. Their reviews and valuations are both utter nonsense
  6. Also, hasn't the LFA got a carbon fibre body? Most them that are still alive tend to be ticking around fairly well. Especially that yellow one in the states with over 30k miles on it with nothing apart from normal servicing
  7. There is none.
  8. I test drove both last month. V8 for me although I didn't get the gearing. It was doing 70mph in 3rd with 3k revs to go. I also downshifted the sh*t out of it and it certainly roars!
  9. Depends on how you define quick. Anything under 6s is quick in my book and mid range acceleration of the GS450h would still decimate most cars on the road today. And if opting for the F-Sport version, can go around corners as quick as any other M-Sport or AMG-Lite saloon from Germany with its 4 wheel steering. Ask me how I know - I've done it.
  10. It was tongue in cheek..... :D But yes, I wouldn't get rid of the GS450h, its the first hybrid saloon from Lexus, it'd be rude to get rid of it.
  11. Here's the latest addition to the franchise - number 3
  12. Yes the ones in my IS and RX come on even when its light for 30 seconds. In the settings there's something about exterior lights, I presume you would have to put that on to whatever time you fancy
  13. Maybe its just me but Ive got an awful sense of deja vu about this thread Lets lock it before it gets out of hand again.
  14. The hybrid holders are cheaper to buy from ECP than the wiper refills from Lexus so shouldn't be a problem. The drivers side wiper arm looks too low. Open the bonnet, pop the cap and adjust it
  15. 4RX is about a foot longer than 3RX but the width is the same. It's also marginally lower than the 3RX. Power train is roughly the same although the 4RX feels stronger in every situation due to extra horsepower and programming of the CVT. Brake feel is better on the 4RX and so is the ride like for like between trim levels. Interior of the 4RX is massive but the 3RX interior is still big. Refinement of the 4RX is improved. It's dead silent at even 90mph on the motorway. The 3RX is still quiet though. You should get a good feel of how the 3RX is from the 4RX but you'd still need to drive a 3RX as they have different characters which may or may not make the 4RX test drive a bit pointless.
  16. Very odd - maybe it just seems smaller then due to the higher floor and the shape.
  17. This is the life I live every day
  18. If I bought an RS3, or any RS Audi, Id expect it to be stolen.
  19. All new models after MY2014 have self healing clearcoat to heal light swirls and scratches. Needs heat to be activated I believe. Technically you shouldn't really polish these paints with abrasives as it removes the self-healing aspects but whether it makes much difference is yet to be seen. I personally would have stuck Fusso on it - found it lasts much longer than King of Gloss.
  20. There's a 12V socket in the armrest for sure. Mine was a facelifted 2012 model and it also had a 12V socket in the cutout of the centre console. Not sure if its present on 2011 models. Wouldn't worry about it - life's too short and time certainly shouldn't be spent on being paranoid about these things.
  21. There's a way to disable to smart key system and just use it as a regular fob. Its in the manual somewhere. And no, the car will keep on going but just display the "key not detected" sign until its turned off. But personally, I wouldn't worry about - life's too short and plenty of Mercs and Audi's to steal. No point getting paranoid over a hypothetical situation
  22. Thats very very odd. Im yet to hear of AC RX450h problems and suspension issues are probably the air suspension but even then, Ive rarely heard of anyone complaining about bust air suspension on the 450Hs
  23. As Dan said - With the USB, keep audio plugged in as it reloads every time and takes an age if you keep pulling it in and out. Also, the USB isn't great for charging, Amps are too low. Keyless range is 80cm from the front doors and from the tailgate.
  24. I dont believe you can get them custom coloured though so they always tend to look different to the wheel unless you get black ones which may blend in with the rubber but make the wheel itself look smaller. Also worth remembering that when these things get kerbed, they look absolutely shocking
  25. The thing with chrome tailpipes is you have to keep on top of them from day one. They tend to get pitted and then corrode and no amount of wire wool and metal polish will remove that. The best thing to do is polish them up every 1 year or so and put a temperature resistant wax on it - something like FK1000p
