  1. The main problem is that our climate is nowhere near as bad as other countries to warrant a change IMO. We get maybe 2 days of snow, a week perhaps at most and for those 7 days, Ill take the main road and grit my driveway each night. Ive ran the IS300h through the winter in heavy snow and the RXs as well with no issues. You get a little bit more slip, but nothing drastic and certainly nowhere near the kind that you see in the videos posted above. I know the winter tyres are supposedly supposed to work at less than 7 degrees but Ive never noticed a massive improvement when its not snowing and its just under 7 degrees. Hence, all seasons are probably a better bet but they're hard to find on the IS300h F-Sport and for the awkward 4RX size. I also take it easy for the first few miles just to warm the tyres up and then summers are fine for 90% of the year
  2. Maybe but if you've never experienced getting stuck even in Yorkshire and I also ran an RWD car for 2 years then it doesn't make sense
  3. You may struggle with the 21" michelins as I believe they do stick out further than the actual rubber insert itself. Bosch said 20" and wiperblades.co.uk are listing 20" michelin stealth as well which is odd.
  4. Ill be honest with you, Ive had all the RXs bar the 1st gen and Ive never bothered to put winter tyres on any of them. I find them quite stodgy and the feel of the car is altered. I've also never been stuck and I live in the hilliest area in England! If the RX was an RWD then yes, but its FWD with an effective snow mode and Ive never had any troubles. I ran All season tyres on my 3RX and they were better in the rain than OEM but then it could be that they're just better tyres. Its not the tyres that will save you, its the mushy thing between the ears - stick to main roads, grit your driveway etc etc and don't be stupid - goes a long way in the winter but many people lack a simple thing called common sense
  5. No idea but the dealer can certainly do it. Some car insurance policies will cover you for lost keys as will house insurance. Obviously check your excess before you make a claim though and be aware, the prices next year may go up unless its a separate service.
  6. Turn it on, put an ice cube on it - should melt very quickly. You could also try touching it but I wouldn't recommend. Be aware that its only the bottom part where the wipers are sat, not the whole screen.
  7. No wind noise here.
  8. I'd be sincerely ****** if it was organised already. 4 breakdown's of what, Lexus CT's? I doubt it
  9. The seats themselves, no. The covers of the seats - possibly but not on the F-Sport as the foam is injected into it. Would I do it? No, simply because it looks odd and then you'll have 2 badly worn seats.
  10. Im sure the immobiliser itself can be reset/erased and new keys programmed to it.
  11. All cars registered after 1st Nov 2012 will have TPMS fitted as standard.
  12. Yes they do, really annoying. The guys in the US say it's to do with the new flexible arms but I think it's just rubbish blades. The Bosch ones cost £16 so we'll see. Had good experiences on wife's previous Merc and sons Golf. What size Michelins did you get?
  13. I don't think they offer it for the 4RX Premier. Must be to do with reliability for sure otherwise it'd certainly be on there
  14. Has anyone noticed that the OEM blades are crap? These are the flat OEM blades which Lexus first introduced on the NX, although I don't see anyone complaining about them. Mine are genuinely rubbish - they wipe OK but certainly not as good as the OEM Denso's on the 3RX and they squeak! Additionally, I thought it may just be the refills wearing out. Tried to get hold of them and they're £20 each!! So if its of any use to anyone, I've decided to change to Bosch Aerotwin A089S. These are 26" and 20". The OEM size is 26" and 21" although the 21" looks too close to the cowl for my liking and Bosch, as well as wiperblades.co.uk have confirmed that these are the correct blades for the 4RX.
  15. You mean this one? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201711030919293?radius=1500&sort=sponsored&price-from=500&postcode=wf177rs&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&model=IS F&make=LEXUS&advertising-location=at_cars&page=1 Very nice although the colour is the softest Ive ever come across - PITA to even polish let alone put a finger on.
  16. My son has the Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited Halogen H7 bulbs and they are very good. Almost too good in fact. Oncoming cars WILL flash 70% of the time even if headlight adjustment is right.
  17. They did make them but getting hold of one would be quite difficult now that its been discontinued and is also quite a rare vehicle. Not sure about the bumper protector though, never seen an IS250C with one. The bumper is a different shape to the standard IS250 as well so bumper protectors for those wouldnt work. An alternative would be to see a PPF specialist who may be able to cut down to size and fit.
  18. I'd presume it does it exactly. I havent really checked. But the closest estimate I can make is that the IS300h has TPMS set to 36psi. It did come up with the yellow low pressure warning once or twice and I put the number on the compressor to 36psi. It inflated the tyres to 36.5psi and turned off and I haven't had the TPMS go off since. So it is reasonably accurate - im not overly concerned about tyre pressures as long as its near enough anyway as there are so many variables changing them all the time
  19. Sons car and his videos lol. I just edit them. Wouldn't be surprised he's just turned 22 and wants to get everywhere in a hurry. I'm pretty sure I crashed my dad's car at 22 yo into a wall lol
  20. I'd recommend the Ring RAC635. I use it to top up all my vehicles including the lawnmower and bicycles - takes about 20s to top up from 31 to 36psi on 20" RX wheels and is pretty handy in an emergency. The one below is an older model but you can see how it works from an independent tester even though the tyre is completely flat. I like how it comes in a carry case and has different lights on it - a white light for illumination, solid red light and flashing red lights for warnings From memory I think its about £25-30 to buy
  21. Can get those for the RX450h but they're only H rated in 235/55 r20 size - preferably want V rated tyres
  22. I wouldn't wire it directly to the battery - thats usually the first place they look for it. Had a mate with an M3 in Silverstone 2 with a tracker fitted. Car got stolen and left in car park but they ripped the carpet out of the front passenger side and the sill covers. Luckily the dealer had fitted "dummy" wiring so they gave up and left the car. Was actually on Police Interceptors not too long ago.
  23. Interesting combo and congrats. Sonic Titanium is not my cup of tea, never has been but the car itself is great. The IS has just had a facelift so I suspect what they meant by unavailable is that it'll be on factory order which would take roughly 6 months. The others are cars built already and on the way to the UK i.e. stock cars/shipped cars.
  24. What tyres are you guys on? and how are they lasting? My 4RX has only done 14k miles, the fronts are shot - definitely under 3mm anyway and will probably need changing when the service is due at end of January. They've worn much more than my 3RX OEM dunlop sp sport 270's which lasted 25k miles before I changed them.
  25. Dealers used to give discounts but many of them don't anymore. Always worth checking just to make sure though
