  1. From what Ive heard from some insiders, it's exactly the same design as the 4RX in appearance but just with a longer wheelbase. I believe the RX200tL and RX450hL will be available in the UK
  2. At discretion of the examiner tbh Any LED pointing horizontally onto the road in face of oncoming traffic can be failed.
  3. You shouldn't need it on an NX though. It's tiny. It's even smaller than the IS in length
  4. The air suspension was a PITA on the 2nd generation RX where it would inevitably fail. However, the 3RX air suspension seems to have been much improved and to date I have not heard of any air suspension failures on it. The 4RX doesn't offer it as an option, not really sure why but TBH the ride in the Premier 4RX is really good that it doesn't need it. I think the side monitor is a camera underneath the mirror to allow you to see the kerb. All 3RXs with memory seats have mirrors which angle down in reverse. You won't find this on the NX as its not available with memory seats unless on the Premier spec/F-Sport Premier
  5. Maybe but im sure they have a higher threshold of approval compared to others in terms of payout They've got an extremely bad reputation as well. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to find hundreds of disappointed people
  6. Well it's not an official Lexus Trim level The only thing I can think of is SE launch model but that'd only be true if it was an early 2013
  7. Yes but that's all fairly low cost stuff. The hybrid drivetrain will probably not be covered and Lexus stuff is expensive and difficult to source from elsewhere so it's likely they'll try to scrimp out. Besides it's not much cheaper so what the point going with Warranty Direct?
  8. An IS300H SE-L doesn't exist.
  9. That one does look better and has lower mileage. Also a relatively good spec with the premium nav. Has a stainless steel rear protector which can scratch easily so take a look. Apart from that looks ok. The colour combo is fairly rare as well. However there's some really good 3RXs for less than that NX https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/RX-450h/35-Luxury-Plus-Pan-Roof-hkbkm77 https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/RX-450h/35-F-Sport-Premium-NavHUD-Display-n5bkuq6 https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/RX-450h/35-Premier-n5bkqq3
  10. Lexus had released a teaser of its RXL which will be a longer wheelbase RX and have an additional 2 seats. From the teaser, nothing can really be seen apart from the L after the original engine and model designation Even the taillights are the same. Interesting to see how much larger it's got as its a huge vehicle already. It will be released at the LA motor show on 29th November 2017
  11. Technically no, however it's one of those cases where you can be certain that you'll be fairly safe if using the same bulbs and you've got them from a dealer. I think the problem is mainly with aftermarket conversion LED bulbs which have a different pattern of light and aren't approved. If an LED headlight bulb blew in a dipped beam light, they aren't legally allowed to change the bulb, they have to change the whole headlamp assembly!
  12. The Sonic Titanium/Beige Premier looks in good nick overall. However, the wheel nuts have rusted so evidence of some heavy chemicals being used there. I know its subjective but I hate that colour - every Lexus I see is the same colour nowadays. Additionally, at the price its at, Id take a 3RX The Grey F-Sport is filthy and its at Evans Halshaw!! They will give you a rubbish P/X price and £100 off list with a £99 admin fee lol. However, it does have the premium nav and is a decent spec. The Red F-Sport looks OK overall although has scratches on the interior on and near the glovebox. There aren't any carpet mats in the pics so I would check that these are present. Also, the screen looks like it may have had some of its coating rubbed off and there is some wear to the drivers seat bolster although its not unexpected but worth making sure its not ripped or torn. Also has the basic nav which is rubbish IMO. The Blue/Beige Luxury has the basic nav system and I believe it won't have electric tailgate etc as it doesnt have the convenience pack option
  13. My 4RX F-Sport just has LED lights in the whole housing. Worth remembering that LED headlights or sidelights are illegal if being retrofitted. The LED lamps fitted as standard to vehicles are tested whereas LED conversions are not. Possible MOT fail if spotted by the examiner https://www.motoringassist.com/motoring-advice/news/fit-led-lighting-car-legally/
  14. Should be present on the SE and SE-L, not too familiar with the SR so cant say
  15. Post a pic of it. I don't like smart repairers for the reason that tar removers etc can't be used on smart repaired paintwork - takes the paint right off in some cases. I'd take a trip to the lexus dealer and see how much they quote for comparison purposes. Then try some others who have a good reputation. Problem is, most people can't tell if paint is good or bad as long as its the right colour and will probably post a good review when their car actually has bubbles, orange peel etc in the paint.
  16. They should move them over free of charge - might ask for a deposit but itll certainly be refundable. Thats how I do it sometimes anyway
  17. You can still use the goo, not a problem Just tell the tyre guy to clean it out Some people think the gunk cant be removed but the tyre fitters are too lazy to actually remove it because it certainly can.
  18. They are qualified but the reality is that they just can't do it, and Lexus won't accept them as doing it even if they do. So, essentially, if you go for the Toyota Service, you would need the hybrid health-check for that extra 1 years warranty on the hybrid system so cost won't be that different. Additionally, I'd be very very wary of warranty direct - there's a lot of things that they don't cover and I bet they won't cover a hybrid failure. Additionally, I don't think they're much cheaper than Lexus warranty which comes with roadside assistance included The Lexus warranty is actually very good - probably one of the better warranties out there.
  19. Yes, the 4RX uses larger diameter wheels. And the tyre size is awkward as hell, there's only 2 semi decent tyres available. If you get 3RX 19" wheels, go for 235/60 r19 tyres. You'll have a negligible 2mm difference in diameter. Or if you get 18's go for 235/65 r18 tyres. Theyll have 4mm difference in tyre diameter
  20. Its 6 degrees here today but I haven't noticed any drop in tyre performance on these crap bridgestones. its 9-10 deg for the rest of the week though :D
  21. Yes, it shows in miles. And the lady in the screen says "After 200 yards, turn left"
  22. Been a while but the 4th one is here. Fairly minor stuff, still annoying nonetheless!
  23. The cruise control can be retrofitted. Thats as far as I know. The cluster from an F-Sport will fit but I believe the internals are different and some of the functions won't work properly.
  24. Who are your local dealers?
  25. I'd be going for the F-Sport. Has a tighter ride and less vibrations compared to the Luxury. Some previous owners have actually said its better than a Premier - Looking at @Bodmeister here Having said that, 3RX all the way, and many owners would agree. The class of the RX is a step above and if they're the same price, its a bit of a no brainer
