  1. Probably a good thing! Will keep the other half from speeding!
  2. Looking good - any difference in terms of ride and speedo?
  3. I believe you have to turn the car off after you've turned it to conventional cruise for it to go back to adaptive. The video below is quite helpful in understanding the system. Be aware that this is for the IS though - the RX has the same controls but it is Full speed capable - all the way down to standstill.
  4. To be fair, it does look much better in person - doesn't help that the pictures seem to focus on the grill than anything else. Maybe marginally larger but even when changing from the 3RX to the 4RX, I had some difficulty in parking - only a 12cm difference. The 4RX doesn't fit in normal car parking bays - only has about 20cm on each side and the doors are way too big so can't get out!
  5. Never used the foglights - but they match the DRLs on ours. Ours was 2 years old when bought though so maybe its our bulbs that have been changed! Im one of those that flashes people with foglights on when not needed - and yes, I did it in the RX and some guy literally just stopped in the road - I presume the LED full beams on the RX blinded him
  6. You can get plenty of signal blocking key covers which is a better solution IMO
  7. Odd - mine are very similiar on the outside in terms of colour. Any chance bulbs have been changed from original?
  8. You have to be a registered keeper yes but the dealer should be able to give the printout as they have all the details
  9. Yes you can - just hold the cruise control stalk down for a few seconds rather than just knocking it down once. Having said that, the adaptive cruise on the RX is very good but the distance setting has to be put to the closest
  10. I think you'd struggle with that engine to be honest. The 1.8TFSI is fine in the A4/A5 but doesn't suit the character of the A6 and is a weed, really needs ringing out to get anywhere. Electrical failures of the honest john reports are accurate - brother in law has gone through 3 A6's - he changes car every year and they were all riddled with electrical gremlins. These were the 3.0l TDIs but I would presume it would be similiar across the range. Last one was a Bi turbo. BMW do a petrol engine in the new 5er which is a decent unit. Personally I would wait a bit - there's a new GS on the horizon
  11. They're an absolute boss on the 4RX - probably due to the change of wiper arms to the germanic style ones
  12. Dont think they were in the 3RX. Guess Lexus realised because they are in the 4RX now!
  13. I meant in the UK. Itll sell for sure in the US! Well not really because Lexus sales figures are the highest they've ever been
  14. Only 17" and 18" were options on the 2RX. The 6 spoke wheel was 17" and the 18" was 5 spoke. There was no 19" option However, I would imagine the 19" wheel from a 3RX to fit the 2RX. Some owners tried 245 wheels with no issues across the pond but I would keep the diameter the same if possible.
  15. Yes, its mainly aimed at the states - will be a nightmare transporting it around the UK and I dont think it'd sell here at all I believe there is some bootspace behind the third row so it should be OK in terms of safety - obviously won't be as good for rearmost passengers as the standard RX though but I presume they would have strengthened the rear for the 7 seater.
  16. I think its supposed to be an VW Arteon, A5 Sportback, 3 series GT and 4 series Gran coupe competitor so it will probably be FWD if its the ES thats becoming a 4 door coupe. They won't price it as much as a CLS I dont think - its too niche a market
  17. Update on this thread - Had some horrendous rain - these blades are the best I've ever used - and yes, that includes the Denso hybrid wiper blades on the 3RX These are extremely quiet, leave no smears anywhere and just get the job done, and at a great price of £16 for both Be aware that these are OEM volvo xc60 size - dont go for the aftermarket multiclip ones as they tend to fit slightly differently. All in all, massively chuffed with these blades and they certainly should have come from the factory like this rather than having those rubbish OEM lexus ones
  18. The RXL has finally been released today. Trim levels generally stay the same. The RXL is 11cm longer than the normal RX which is massive anyway and has a slightly different rear bumper garnish. It will have tri-zone climate control as standard, along with power fold third row. The engine options remain unchanged
  19. From what I have heard, the GS is being converted into a 4 door coupe style thing like the CLS. And the ES will be a saloon in the range. However, there are various sources saying that pictured below is the next gen ES - Not sure, it could be that they've made the ES into a 4 door coupe and kept the GS a standard saloon I'd expect it to be released in New York next year
  20. Not sure about the 400h but most Lexus do have mounts and the plastic screws go in there no problem
  21. I believe @wendle over on the LC500 section found a key pouch costing less than £4 each which blocked the signal. He said it wouldn't open the car even when stood next to it. Faraday signal blocking pouch something or other I think it was called
  22. The facelift RC hasn't been released and orders usually take place a few months after released to the public. The RC doesn't have a 4-5 month waiting list so what he's saying doesn't make sense. Additionally, current cars are made until the facelift is released which would be in January if they're having March deliveries on the facelift. Their story doesn't add up at all as you can't order these cars before they're released anyway. Also its more likely that the RC will get the IS screen rather than the NX one. And I forgot to say that the 2018 model year RC was updated in the US 2 months ago with engine changes that the UK won't get. The US typically get deliveries and info much earlier than we do. I genuinely think the dealers dont know what theyre talking about or certainly have their timelines screwed. For reference, when enquiring about the new RX a day after US release the dealers gave me a price of £69995 - the price of a GS F when it came out. I'd take dealers with a huge pinch of salt.
  23. Update - latest is that the UK is being released on 6th March 2018 at the geneva motor show
  24. Oem every time. Hate the look of screen mounts and hate people who keep looking down to at their lap every 5 seconds for phone nav afree putting it in the centre console or lap. Should be done for using the phone whilst driving IMO. As for the Lexus business nav, it seems like it's just an add on to the screen and isn't integrated well at all.
  25. interesting regarding the wipers because the NX uses the flat blade type Oem wipers like the RX which are *******. I changed mine for bosch ones which are actually half price of Lexus ones
