  1. Depends on whether it's been set or not in the nav system. Should be in settings, vehicle customisation and then maintenance. Can only be done when car is in Park btw.
  2. Yes probably. On hone visits ive seeb plenty of people who have very nice cars and old wooden doors which can be kicked down, no internal locks and rubbish windows and cheap locks. Some don't even have an alarm. Ive seen one case in person where police were trying to knock down a door. It was composite and they couldn't break it down at all. It just kept bending and absorbing all the shocks.
  3. Moral of the story - No point having car security if home security isn't up to par.
  4. Overall car looks in good nick which is expected as the mileage is low and priced reasonably. The rear seats don't look used at all. The driver side seat is in good condition too. Lexus Leeds used to be fantastic when they were under the Benfield group but have since been taken over by Vantage. The whole staff have changed and they are nowhere near as good tbh. However, what you will get is decent service as they're trained albeit like robots. Don't expect more than £500 discount off the car though and autotrader p/x value for the GS if trading in
  5. Depends on where it's parked I suppose. I doubt they'd try to break in and threaten though. The majority of these folk are cowards and want to be in/out as quick as possible. Any signs of disturbance and they leg it.
  6. All 4 of mine got taken which means someone had the cheek to go around the car Wish I'd caught them - would happily have carried out a citizens arrest
  7. It's not wind noise as such although this does affect some NXs. The vehicle overall is slightly louder which is to be expected. This includes road and wind noise. The engine noise is apparent when using the accelerator which you would have to do quite often and for a prolonged period of time compared to your current GS and the RX. It's particularly noticeable on hills. The RX is so quick that you barely notice any drone but the NX requires sustained effort so it can seem like the engine is droning on. Also worth bearing in mind that the NX suspension is slightly firmer and thr seats narrower than you'd find in an RX
  8. That's fair enough bit the RX is not much longer or wider than an NX and you get used to it. A few days youll be worried about it but after a week or two you get used to it pretty quick especially with all the parking gubbins
  9. Sounds about right - they usually have 90-100k life anyway. They probably included the labour price in the price as the bulbs are about £60
  10. The discounts should no longer be available as its now fixed price. But the member discount would still apply.
  11. TBH the RX is also too big for my needs too. I'm usually the only person in the car and the NX space would have sufficed as a family car. Problem was mainly with the power and refinement levels coming from multiple RXs since 2004! The RX is bigger yes but at no point does it become harder to manoeuvre. Most people move out of the way when it's coming down the road. I didn't really want to go down the route of the Audi SQ5 either though as that has enough power and the V6 refinement.
  12. These grey ones would probably do the job as well. Dirt cheap https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-Grey-Plastic-Universal-Valve-Dust-Caps-Tyre-Wheel-Car-Bike-Schrader/132434266557?hash=item1ed5b289bd:g:X0cAAOSw5cNYVTxp
  13. That's odd as the packet is for 10. It's also clearly pictured so I would argue mis-selling
  14. Hi guys, This is one for the security conscious out there. One of my friends has had his Golf R stolen the night he brought it home from the dealership about 4 weeks ago. Not surprising as it was in the relatively rare Red with carbon leather seats and akrapovic exhaust. Regardless, he's got himself another one in the same spec but in Blue and had a Ghost system installed for £500 or so. I've tried it out and it's pretty cool tbh. It's basically a Canbus immobiliser which is fitted to the car. The car will not turn on even with the key but instead, the steering wheel buttons are used to enter a sequence ie a code to start the vehicle. It can be made up to 20 digits long and has an emergency start up code if you forget the normal one. https://www.ghostimmobiliser.co.uk I'm not associated with this company at all.
  15. It'll be the 40k full service. It's based on mileage or 1 year from previous service whichever is first
  16. Has the windscreen been changed? Check for the Lexus Logo above the VIN on the nearside. If not, more likely to be a blocked drain or bad seals.
  17. Clay is abrasive so yes, it would have an impact on the coating. I would personally ditch the car pro reload and go for Sonax BSD. Beading is insane and lasts fairly well.
  18. The OEM ones are silver plastic and available for £5-8 for 10 on ebay via Lexus UK.
  19. Yes it's not available on some Lexus vehicles post 2012. It was due to some earlier models locking automatically and then the car being in an accident and remaining locked trapping the occupants The cars are now programmed to self release in an accident so they've reintroduced in on new models
  20. Yep as mentioned completely and utterly normal. I've got it on my 4RX. It skips when reversing at low speed no matter what the weather. I've been told tyres make a difference but it won't fully go away. It's particularly worse on vehicles with a hefty rear tyres or long wheelbases. The last Porsche 911 I drove did it, as did a few Mercs and BMWs with wide tyres round back. The 911 was particularly bad. I swear it barely turned whilst reversing and actually skipped for a few cms. It's basically due to the front wanting to go straight rather than turning when reversing. There's also less contact patch on the tyres when turned.
  21. TBH those are fairly easy stains to remove and fairy liquid would remove them let alone dedicated carpet cleaners. Try car oil in carpets left for a few months. Meg's super degreaser would be my last point of call. If not removed it's new carpets I'm afraid
  22. From the story it seems like the van was clearly in the wrong. It sounds like he simply didn't look and kept going. TBH admitting liability doesn't mean much. You can admit liability and then completely change your mind. Happens a lot in reality. Insurance company most likely will give a 50/50 payout as its a roundabout incident. Unless you say "crash for cash" he pulled out in front of me....
  23. Yep all 4 of my previous RX ones got nicked. I went to my mate in kwik fit who dished out some new metal ones which never seized after 3 years. I agree with Steve in finger pressure. No point over tightening them. Don't see the point in anti theft ones either.
  24. Yep mine also comes on at the slightest touch. It's a 63 plate. I wouldn't expect later models to be any different.
