These cars are American spec - hence have foglamps and single beam LED headlights rather than the triple LED headlights we get on the F-Sport and Premier models. The RC-F in the UK has only had the multispoke diamond cut wheels as standard and recently, the forged wheels were made an option. The US and Canada have always had another base option wheel so its unclear whether the new 7 twin spoke wheels will be offered as standard or as an option here

Nah. ML just gets special ceramic knobs. 2013-2014 had brushed metal effect knob and 2015 onwards had real brushed metal knobs

Update - Made some phone calls and spoke to some of my friends who work at Lexus across the pond. The naples yellow is certainly an option now but on the RCF and F Sport only. There is a new 19" split wheel option but no sure if the UK will get it The infotainment system and centre console the only thing changed on the interior. Just gets a bigger screen like the IS Spec changes means safety system + is standard across the trim levels. The looks will remain unchanged The RC Premier gets diamond cut and dark finished wheels now rather than the plain silver and diamond finish. The design is the same. The Luxury will get wheels from the GS Luxury

I agree, it sounds like they're just changing the spec It's also not unusual to bring new colours to an existing vehicle. The CT and NX had sky blue introduced, the RX recently had azure blue added, the IS had azure blue added mid cycle and the GS had Cadoxton slate added mid cycle too

Well yes it follows the intermediate and full regime but the big services include additional work like spark plugs etc which don't need doing - however, Lexus will happily charge you the extra and change them anyway (or if they're naughty - leave them be).

Great work - certainly looks great! IMO much better than the facelifted one with its somewhat odd rear lights as well

Looks like its got scratches which won't come out. Some of the other stuff is just dirt which will clean up pretty well. TBH, it shouldn't get that bad - ours is 4 years old and its nowhere near that stage - it looks fresh bar the odd scratch.

Which picture is this? I would be absolutely gobsmacked if an updated RC is on the way as the US hasn't got it yet - so unlikely to come here anytime soon. I literally think its just the new 2018MY - not an actual facelift. It takes up to 6 months from the official release to the delivery of the vehicles.

No, certainly not - but the point is that most people just don't see them for one reason or another - mainly because they are covered up with fillers. If they pay for a detailer and give a good deal, I would take it. It won't just be better than new as supplied by most dealers, but better than new full stop. Well yes that's what I meant they should pay for it and it'll be better than new. Trust me all new cars will have scratches and swirls including the dealer ones. They just slap some spray fillers on to make it seem like they dont which wash off after a while

Urm, to an extent but it still needs waxing periodically. White cars tend to go yellow even when clearcoated. They need to put the wax on for a number of simple reasons - prevention of bird poo etching, prevention of iron contamination and make the car easier to clean for a short period of time whilst looking good. Dealers dont polish the paint - they only stick protective layers on unless it's being prepped as a used car. I'm not sure it's hand polished only the forged wheels are which are an option on the RCF. I think what you mean is the paint is wet sanded by hand to make it smooth

Well it won't be £645 then if its only at 40k. The spark plugs are the main things changed at 60k which degrade with mileage not time. Therefore you would only need a Full service, not a 60k one. Extended Warranty is invalid if taken to an independent

They were probably 4300k semi yellow ones. I would go osram nightbreaker or philips. They won't be bright white but they will be whiter than normal ones. You can also get osram cool blue intense which is LED like

New cars need transport wax removed and then paint protection applied. This was probably what caused the scratches. All new cars will have scratches. Lexus paint is more susceptible as its softer. Only needs taking to a detailer than anything else

Replacing the factory HID bulb with an LED is illegal and will fail MOT I believe the bulb is a D4S. Change both at the same time especially as there may be a colour difference. If you want an LED look go for colour of 5000k

Mainly cosmetic but there were suspension changes, addition of sport mode and improvement of the centre console layout as well as the nav system. There were no changes to the drivetrain AFAIK in terms of MPG I got about 27 mpg in town and up to 35mpg on a motorway run. Essentially i managed to do about 450 odd miles per tank. Having had an RX300 I know it drunk fuel like crazy and my fuel bill halved. Worth remembering that the facelift came out in 2012 as a 12 plate so these will be cheaper

Yes, on the premium nav system you can set it yourself. I usually set mine to a month in advance

It might only be on premium nav versions. It should come up with an indicator for service but it'll only come on on the due date.

Not sure whether the UX will replace the CT but it's being released in March 2018 at LA motor show I believe.
