  1. Breakers yard I would have though - or ebay
  2. Worth remembering that although those quotes give an indication of the area, because Insurance companies check your credit score, they won't be entirely accurate as they won't be able to pull the details
  3. I think the GS one is controlled by the passengers sitting in the actual seats.
  4. It won't warm up within a mile or two. And you'll get around 25mpg. But apart from that, I don't think you'd cause a huge problem - plenty of low mileage cars with no issues at all - including our IS - 15k over 4.5 years
  5. With the tyres, yes it could be the OEM Yokohamas but generally the NX is louder inside anyway. Connected services - for me, no its not worth the effort. Even the traffic updates are unreliable and I haven't really used anything else. Connected services are a work in progress to be honest and I think they need to start putting some actual connected services in, like remote starting and warming up the car when cold via app etc etc. With the rattle, yes could be from the number plate rattling as the subwoofer is on the hatch. I would get some sticky pads of the foam variant and put them on each side of the number plate first along with the screws
  6. For a good refurb between £80-100
  7. Yes, they've been doing it for a few years now. They cover rattles up to 2 years and say everything after 2 years is due to wear and tear
  8. I wouldn't be worried about adding on extra costs for a bumper repair. Even if Lexus do it it'll be £1-1.5k at most. Iwould say go for the Lexus approved bodyshop. They generally see a lot more Lexus. Last thing you want is a monkey usually working on Fiats and Citroens armed with a screwdriver taking off things he doesn't know how to put back properly - that's where you get misaligned panels from
  9. I paid £465 on my 3RX almost every year after the 2nd year. The first year it was £560 or something. I had mine down for 10k miles, 3k of those were business miles and a tracker. Fully comprehensive of course and excess was usually around £500-600
  10. I'd get it sorted before 2019. Lexus only give 2 years warranty on rattles now
  11. I was under the impression S-flow reduced the flow to the rear to heat the cabin up front quicker. Ive never noticed it turning off on the passenger side either. Unless its supposed to be in Auto, with efficient ventilation mode on and S-flow on as well and the DUAL setting turned off.
  12. I see this day in and day out in the dealerships. Dealerships are there to make money - they have margins that they put on used cars. For vehicles that have a retail price of over £20k they will give a P/X value of £4K less. In Lexus case, that will cover the £500 discount that they give along with adding the warranty and the PDI checks which costs them perhap £500. Overall on a £20k+ car they make about £2.5k-£3k For £10k retail, vehicles will usually be flung off to auction unless they have a full service history. They will have expected to list the car at £10995 or £9995 if they were feeling generous Trade value is always going to be less than private value and its amazing how many people don't realise that - they always seem to pull out the "but parkers says its worth this much". Well no its not because Parkers are irrelevant, only Glass and HPI (formerly CAP) are the books used in the industry. Worth bearing in mind that condition on a p/x car will not add much in value - it just means itll be easier/harder to sell for the dealer and they may give you an extra £250-500 on a car worth that much. They always have wiggle room in the P/X prices as they make a good profit and deliberately give a lower price to begin with.
  13. Thats probably true but atleast it'll take some cars off the road which havent had brake fluid changed in 3-4 years! Or force them to have a change atleast
  14. Even so, probably better than nothing at all Old brake fluid is pretty obvious
  15. The HID thing is good. Too many vehicles with excessively bright HID lights which are obviously not factory fitted. Reverse lights make sense and it is a safety issue if cars dont have this IMO, same with brake fluid checks which I presume will allow testers to open up the cap I welcome these changes. There's nothing there which would make me think - why is that there?
  16. Not really but the customer service may vary for obvious reasons You don't necessarily need to take it to Lexus for a service history but if you want an extra 1 year hybrid warranty, get the £59 hybrid healthcheck done at Lexus annually.
  17. Lol didn't realise until I looked at the date. Seems like OP revived his own thread though!
  18. £3.36 is a joke for 1 valve cap. It's flipping plastic and tiny. Nowt special really. BMW ones are cheaper. TBH they should be £1 each at most.
  19. Wouldn't be worried at that mileage. As above check the service history Also worth checking the mot history to see if the mileage is genuine and what kind of things came up if they did in terms of advisories etc
  20. Tbh if you're only using it round town. I don't think you'll miss the power much. The only issue I had was that I have 3 kid - ones a 86kg one so it all adds up and the SUV is our main family car
  21. TBH I think you have a dud battery. Mine is left for over 3 weeks sometimes and starts first time - its a 63 plate as well so one of the early models. I believe it had its battery changed before it even got to the 1st owner though as the first one was not right.
  22. Not sure - Id expect them not to come out if it was frozen on a cold morning rather than being stuck out.
  23. Some shuddering is normal and will occur on all modern cars on a cold start Its to do with trying to warm the catalytic converter up as fast as possible. Happens on the RX, IS and VW Golf
  24. Best colour combo that's for sure..... But then I may be biased having 2 white on red cars haha Post pics when you get the chance and let us know how you find it after you get to know it.
  25. That grimsby road is dire. No in cedes why they made it like that.
