  1. Yes, don't think its the actual circuit thats on but I read that there's a capacitor along the line usually and they hold their charge for a while.
  2. So what actually happened? An agreement not to disclose doesn't make a difference unless you've signed for it lol
  3. Interesting - the only ones you have left to try are the CT and the RC taking into account they probably won't give you an LS or LC! What actually happened with your NX btw? Im surprised you found the RX noisy - mine is like a vault no matter what speed Im going - and yes I did max it out once, only once, I mean you have to at some point!
  4. You would have hoped so being so much newer! Touch wood, the only one I had was coming from the pan roof In the warmer weather we've been having, thats completely gone so happy me!
  5. Not exactly, The F-Sport white is referred to as "Glass flake" paint. In a sense, its a metallic colour but without metal bits. It shimmers in the sun and will go slightly blue. Sonic White is a pearl colour - one of the best colours in the Lexus lineup at the moment. Its an evolution of Arctic Pearl
  6. I think they're stainless steel, not aluminium. Is it pitting as such or just sat on the surface? Just wondering if its worth applying some fallout remover to it or a clay bar
  7. As already mentioned, its rust causing the discs and pads to stick together. Its more prominent during colder weather but nothing to worry about Best thing to do is just leave the parking brake off. The shushing noise is more likely to be the rust being grazed off when the brakes are touched. Every so often, it is certainly worth doing some very very hard braking.
  8. You can do them yourself if you know what youre doing but you will have to remove the plastic covers - plenty of online videos to watch. There should be no access problems after those have been removed Ideally, just get a local garage or Lexus to do it as you'll be dealing with pretty high voltages
  9. Yes it will. Its state of the art apparently and I would hope so considering it's the latest Lexus dealership
  10. I see you have the GS450h Premier. Those came with LED headlights which are bright. My RX has the LED headlights too and yes, always seem to get flashed. Ive resorted to flashing back - it literally blinds them and had one guy just stop on his side of the road when I flashed. Or sometimes I just keep the High beam on until they see me and then turn them off so they know that Im on dipped beam Its the aging population and cataracts tbh!
  11. No, the Motorline group doesn't include Stoke. AFAIK Lexus Stoke is a standalone Lexus dealer not associated with any other dealers. The only explanation would be that Stoke couldn't sell it so gave it to Lexus HQ And then other dealers can buy them from Lexus HQ so I guess Lexus Gatwick bought it.
  12. Heads up for all you guys near Gatwick - Lexus is coming to you! Lexus will be opening a new showroom branded Lexus Gatwick in February 2018 It will be part of the Motorline Group which currently includes Lexus Bristol, Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells and Cardiff
  13. Mine had nothing wrong with it and works as it did before. They also quoted me for 2 new front tyres - worn at 16k miles! £250 each or something daft like that (although they did say "we'll price match anyone" Fitting price was £10+VAT per tyre if sourcing my own
  14. Doesn't surprise me. Lots of dodgy stuff going on even in the medical and pharmaceutical industry but of course its all done under the radar. Im pretty sure China has cloned a human but don't talk about it as its ethically unacceptable. The pharmaceutical companies regularly do crazy tests on monkeys to try and find the new alzheimers drug or next big antibiotic. Of course, this is all done overseas in areas we can't even pronounce - nobody asks questions over there because they're too scared of getting killed.
  15. Hey guys, For those of you with a 4RX - there's a recall/TSB regarding the rear tailgate ECU. I dont know which Model Years it affects but I would presume all. Mine has just been done (without even being asked or told about) whilst car was in for 20k Service and its showing up on MyLexus now. And of course filled to the brim with fuel (I thought my range had gone up!)
  16. Yes it the protection pack as mentioned above
  17. 2.5 years ago. Fitting will be fairly simple as its just stuck on with adhesive. Painting would be £100, can't imagine it would be more. Worth speaking to the dealer though and haggle. Ive found they have a lot of leeway in these things
  18. Change the average speed settings of the roads. It defaults as 30mph in town which is way too optimistic. Put it down to 15mph or so. It should give you the option of eco, short and quick. Mine does anyway
  19. Ah yes the street view - its very very handy..... for seeing how things looked 6-12 months ago Yes the NX is nimble compared to the RX but you're wife might not thank you when she gets in after her back operation for getting rid of the RX!
  20. Well yes, exactly, its designed to last for a very long time or atleast, a lot of miles. Possibly something like 500k. I dont think Lexus would tarnish their reputation for reliability by not putting a transmission oil change in the service schedule if it really needed doing.
  21. They still live in the 70's though and change their engine oil every 5k miles! If its sealed for life, its sealed for the lifetime of that car. Changing the oil will make little difference. Cars with 250k are still on original auto transmission oil. With the E-CVT in the IS300h its a different story - don't even know what kind of transmission oil they'd be using for that.
  22. Yes it's supposed to be lifetime of the vehicle. I don't think it says 40k changes anywhere. Re-read it. Spark plugs are every 60k on an IS300h.
  23. I remember when we got ours I enquired about it. Was £700 painted and fitted from memory.
  24. You can try but I know what they'll say Wear and tear. They'll say it's been scratched and moisture got in and caused it to rust. Although ours is nearly 5 years old and it's got no rust spots whatsoever
  25. More of an evolution rather than a revolution. I don't find the CT great on bumps, even the non-F-Sport models and the IS is certainly more comfortable in terms of just going over bumps alone. The CT does handle pretty well, almost like a go-kart though and its flat in the corners. The road noise is there and its noticeable - more so if you jump from an IS to a CT. CVT gearbox was improved but marginally. It doesn't rev for no reason unlike the early ones which used to hit max revs when you hit the throttle. The newer ones tend to increase revs as the car picks up speed so its more natural than before.
