  1. My RX also says as of today's date. I believe mine is the Takata Airbag recall which is showing on VOSA. Your wheel arches will be fine. I dont think its actually happened, just that they've noticed some cars may not have the sealant on, or a defective sealant on. Make sure you don't go with a full tank
  2. It could be a few things. Wheel bearings often make noises upon turning - sort of sound like groans. Its not a fault as such but just normal wear and tear, especially on a 05 vehicle with 88k miles. However, it could also be tyres. I had a Merc with budget tyres on (dont ask, all my money was spent on renovating the house) and it made a washing machine like whirring noise. Budget tyres are notorious for this. Its unlikely that they have put the wheel on wrong - its literally just put it on and tighten the bolts to set torque. Why do you want to change the discs and pads? Are they rusted or worn? If not just leave them. However, Eurocarparts currently have 50% off discs and pads using code FEB70. Go for the Brembo brake discs and pads - you can't go wrong with those and they work out less than £100. Use topcashback/quidco and you'll get about 2-3% back as well. 4 years seems ridiculous for batteries. They should last atleast 6-8 years I would have thought.
  3. Appears to be an LC mule running around with blacked out bumpers and sideskirt. Wonder what it is, an LC F-Sport or LC-F engine testing mule?
  4. The grill is 1 piece and therefore the whole unit needs to be changed. Not cheap from what I've heard either.
  5. This is a well known recall but no letters were sent out. Instead it flags up on the computer when booking for servicing and its done with the service. If there is corrosion, they will repair and then put the sealant on top My RX is showing an outstanding recall - I wonder if its the ECU for the tailgate but I know thats been done because its on the Lexus Portal and my car was brimmed when I collected it. I would check on the Lexus portal to see if its been done - it may just say refueled or something. If they've refuelled, they've done the recall.
  6. It was always bound to happen. Porsche has removed all diesel vehicles from the lineup and of course, its not going to do the diesel Porsche's already on the road any favours in terms of resale price which will be going down. With modern petrol engines and hybrids, there really is no reason to go for a diesel unless doing galactic mileages per year
  7. Just to update - the picture showed above which were supposed to be a collapsed bolster is not actually a collapsed bolster at all This is the same car From this angle, the bolster looks intact - just a bit of leather stretch which is normal if used harshly Ive gone through the Lexus website and the bolsters seem fine - completely normal wear and tear but the leather has stretched in some of them which makes it appear like the foam has compressed.
  8. All the engines are new So I presume a 250h will be 160-170hp roughly. The HS engine has been long discontinued now so its not that. I would presume its a new 2.0l petrol engine running on atkinson cycle paired with hybrid motors The UX200 is more likely to be a NA 2.0l petrol engine on otto cycle with atkinson cycle when load is reduced. Could also just be the same engine from a CH-R and tuned to 160-170hp. I presume the UX200 and UX250 will use the same engines in different states of tune. The 200t is now called the 300 so it'll have to be a smaller turbo engine or a NA 2.0l
  9. Just give it a miss and find another one if you're concerned. These vehicles have service schedules of 10k miles or every year. That particular vehicle has missed more services than its had! 50 miles travelling is nothing for a car you're going to be doing thousands of miles in
  10. Recommended is not the same as "it needs to be done" Lexus dealers usually recommend an AC Service after 2 years - not sure why they're saying its recommended after 1 year. You don't have to do it though, its your choice. Same with the engine cleaning fluid - doesn't need doing but is recommended. Its like places which say "alignment recommended" after new tyres fitting. It doesn't need doing because the alignment doesn't magically pop out of place when fitting new tyres. It only needs doing if its not aligned I think my 3RX had a air con service recommended after every 2 years. I decided to do it finally when it was 5 years old - only lost about 10% during that time.
  11. Im not so sure - its not been subject to normal wear and tear Someone has been sitting on the bolster and then rotating around it from what it looks liked If sitting in the seat properly, there's be very minimal wear to the lower bolster as it doesn't take any weight.
  12. BMW X1/X2 competitor I would have thought
  13. Everything you haven't paid for is still saved though.... Its about £300 from ALA for GAP insurance of around £25000 back to invoice.
  14. Lexus UK have made a right blunder there. Its a small SUV around Toyota CH-R in size and more than likely to use the same chassis. It will be available in the UK as UX250h which will be an all new engine. It will have around 160-170hp.
  15. 235/55 r20. A very awkward size. The previous gen had a good range of tyres available as the size was used on other vehicles - 235/55 r19.
  16. Over time foam will compress but it dopends on usage. If someone is sitting on the bolster when getting in and out, then it is more likely to compress and not go back into shape
  17. Yes that wouldn't be normal. I can pretty much assure you that this vehicle was owned by an elderly person who sat on the bolster whilst getting in and then moved across. Needs refoaming. Nothing else would work
  18. Creases are normal. They occur even if sitting in the seat. Id only class excessive wear as torn, ripped or completely collapsed.
  19. The UX has been teased ahead of its release at the Geneva motor show in March. It appears the full width light has made it to production.
  20. Would be awesome if we could get decent tyres for the RX The cheapest decent tyre is the Bridgestone dueler H/L 33 at £188! Yoko Advan Sport is cheaper but I dont think I want Yoko's tbh
  21. Take a picture and post it up to see if its normal or not. Obviously a seat bolster is going to wear as its the part that everyone brushes against when getting in and out constantly. Made worse by wearing studded jackets etc
  22. Spoiler looks good Not too keen on the badges - makes it look like an older Lexus which had those badges.
  23. Would have thought regen would make it worse as the rears dont get used as much as conventional brakes Discs and pads may be the same but Im not sure about calipers - they look entirely different
  24. Ah mate, thats not true My wife's previous car has a little chip in it. Used the pressure washer, nothing special just a home use karcher and it turned the chip into a 5cm diameter blob
  25. On alcantara - any kind of fabric shampoo or carpet shampoo I use Autosmart Brisk for cloth seats - leaves a scent behind as well. An APC would be fine as well tbh Just make sure you do the whole seat and not try a spot clean - follow it up with a steam cleaner and leave to dry
