  1. Oh no Carl.... Just watch this thread now unravel into one from before you were a member! Let's just say it got closed....
  2. The Lexus UX has finally been revealed today. We initially had a teaser of its backside and a front 3/4 pic. Now we get to see it all! Lets start off with some CGI Lexus pics: Key facts - 1) The Lexus UX is the first Lexus vehicle on the new GA-C platform 2) UX200 and UX250h are both new engines. the 200 is an NA 2.0l 4 pot engine whilst the 250h uses a the same engine in combination with 4th generation hybrid drive to provide 176hp. 3) Lexus has focused on making the interior less cluttered than other models and used a "less is more approach" 4) Proactive use of navigation allows the hybrid to learn the driving style and routes of the driver, making it more efficient in the process Exterior The exterior takes styling cues from the other models in the Lexus lineup. We have headlights similiar to the revised CT with the characteristic Lexus Swoosh DRL's on top of the main headlights. Similiar to other models, the grill takes the centre stage, this one appearing to be very intricate and three-dimensional compared to others. All models get a honeycomb effect grill whilst the F-Sport goes one step further by making these mesh The wheel arches are clearly reminiscent of the RX and NX whilst the UX's party piece is the rear end with the lighting running from one side to another The dimensions are 177" long allowing the car to fit into small spaces. Interior Lexus designers have taken a different approach to usual with a "less is more" approach. The interior is simple and elegant with features from other vehicles in the lineup. The Steering wheel, interior door handles and drive mode controls seem to be taken straight out of the LC and LS. The centre screen is large and similiar to that of the RX. The seats are an all new design and the audio controls have been integrated into the palm rest to free up space on the dashboard and give it a minimalistic look. New Lexus Features Lexus offers a new trim option inspired by Washi (japanese paper). Leather grained finishes are also available. There will be four interior options to choose from on regular models. The vents are now illuminated and they have a single knob which controls the air flow and desired direction from that particular vent. Engines UX200: 2.0l Naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine. An all new engine providing 168hp . It uses advanced technology such as VVT-iE to allow a maximum thermal efficiency of 40%. The UX200 is paired with a direct-shift CVT, an all new gearbox that has an additional gear set for using from a standstill to provide a more linear feel. UX250h: The above, paired with 4th gen hybrid drive providing 176hp and designed to provide a linear driving feel unlike hybrids of past. The 250h will come with Predictive Efficient Drive. This will analyse driving habits, road and traffic conditions to maximise efficiency. PED will also include Predictive Deceleration Support, a system which uses accumulated data to maximise regeneration when braking up to 1000 feet ahead. Safety The Lexus UX will have safety system + as standard along with technology trickled down from the new LS such as Lane Tracing Assist included in Lexus CoDrive F-Sport As with other Lexus models, this is the sporty trim so expect stiffer dampers, louder, more shouty grills and graphite wheels. The UX specifically comes with additional rear dampers, specific stabiliser bars and High Response adaptive variable suspension debuted on the LC. F-Sport will come with newly designed seats which using integrated foam technology and the moving gauge cluster from the IS/RC makes a comeback. Of course ASC is included and can be shut off but there is also the addition of Sonic Interaction Design which adjusts the sound of the vehicle in Sport+ mode.
  3. Certainly not normal - mine is almost instantaneous.....almost I think you may need a software update. These issues happened on earlier vehicles, especially 2014 but were fixed with software updates throughout the years. You may be lucky as I expect you're out of warranty to go to your dealers - otherwise, a cheaper option would be to get the latest map update for the nav system from an online seller as it comes with a software update I believe.
  4. A very interesting choice of wheels for an 82 year old. White Sport with the Black 18" wheels! Would have expected you to go towards a more sombre colourscheme, or atleast one of the trim levels which isn't aimed at 30 year old! Nevertheless, a brilliant vehicle and never had an issue with it in 5 years of ownership
  5. Dont know about VRT an the like but in the UK all options are worthless Just makes the car more desirable or easier to sell.
  6. I would presume you can Simply because I believe an owner has fitted 19" RX450h wheels onto an RX300 which has the same spec wheels as the 400h. Should just be a straight swap to be honest. Best thing to do is simply try it!
  7. That is a very daring colour combination - must say it looks great in the flesh but I bet those seats are hard to clean! Yes, the NX forum is quiet. The NX is a hit in the UK, sells quite well but as always, not much goes wrong. The VW forum on the other hand is always busy, many more cars and a lot more problems.
  8. Being rated better doesn't necessarily mean its better. It has a 5 year warranty but they tend to go dead just over 5 years. These Bosch and Varta batteries, although only having 4 years, tend to last a heck of a long time sometimes. My son's car is running on an OEM Varta battery - its 9 years old!
  9. Those Nokian Weatherproof's seem to have great reviews as well. Its a shame they don't make them in 4RX size. I can't find any decent all seasons tyres - there are the Michelin Latitude Tour HP but the speed rating is H, not V which annoys me.
  10. Well its a diesel so obviously going to get good mpg on the motorway. It supposedly does 78mpg lol I doubt it'd be 6s to 60mph. its showing 6.6 but probably feels faster because of the combined diesel and electric torque
  11. Well the local dealer won't do the actual repair, they have their own specialists that they tend to use. Worth knowing that the barrels are not clearcoated so make sure they don't paint and clearcoat that otherwise it'll look different to the rest.
  12. Its fine - snow mode and summer tyres, had no issues. Probably would be much much better being RWD with winter tyres on
  13. You shouldnt have any issues with any good wheel specialist - colour match is a problem if doing single wheels though but it can be done "as close as makes no difference". An exact colour match is almost impossible. The colour matching used to be an issue when these wheels first came out but bodyshops seem to have got the hang of it now. I tend to get them done by my dealers bodyshop - was around £60 for 18" and £100 for 20" inclusive of VAT. They've done so many that they've mixed up their own paint and got their own colour code now. Not official but it does the job.
  14. Its awesome - I dont think there's much point in elaborating...
  15. I doubt that would be a Cat D - its barely got any damage All it needs is a bumper and a wing - estimated cost at a Lexus dealership - roughly £2300. I had exactly the same thing done - the IS-F bumper is cheaper than the IS300h F-Sport one as I recall, ours was around £500 at the time.
  16. Brake discs and pads are probably OK tbh - will generally be using regen. I bet they've not been changed. Car should have had 10 services. Only problem would be the spec - its an SE - would be hard to shift on tbh and I think the current price reflects this. TBH for that money Id be looking at a 3RX than an NX with much lower mileage - there's almost no size difference between them and the 3RX would give you all the luxuries than a basic spec NX
  17. Ive had some fun with my RX over the past few days. Still on Summer Bridgestones which seem to be a very soft compound - they're pretty much shot after 16k miles. Anyway, no issues. Some wheelspin but nothing unexpected. No snow mode on the 4RX either so I used Eco instead which seems to do the same job.
  18. Ive still had my summer bridgestones on - no issues Couldn't even be bothered putting grit out figuring it'll just get covered because the snow was too heavy.
  19. Not sure about whether the UK will be getting the new 2.0l 4 cylinder NA engine but that has 169hp. The UX250h is more likely to be the new 2.0l 4 cylinder with 143hp + 107hp motor. Combined output hasnt been revealed yet but about 170hp would be my guess.
  20. Fack me, thats a heck of a pricing scheme!
  21. What were you clearing snow with?! Just use a towel wrapped around a can of deicer or something, nothing with sharp edges.
  22. You only need heated washer nozzles if your screenwash is rubbish. The original Toyota stuff is rated down to -70 degrees so you shouldn't have any issues.
  23. Interesting stuff, And to your last question - Yes every Toyota should have an EV for every model. Lexus will probably follow. I would also like to know how servicing has been and the cost, including any issues with the vehicle.
  24. Yep most likely is the above in the recent cold weather. Make sure you get some screenwash that is rated down to -15 atleast.
  25. Looks very good in black with the de-chrome should look even better. Orange stitching on the interior looks good but personally, a bit too black for me. Would have been interesting if they had orange leather seats instead!
