It has indeed. Can't remember the prices on the pre-facelift ones but is it me or has the RC got cheaper? Seems to come standard with pretty much everything that were options on the previous car i.e. premium nav etc. Premier pack is pretty good value for money.- 18 replies

The paintwork has always been an issue on Lexus - they have always had soft paint, however, I have stressed to other members, and on other forums that paintwork quality is not about the softness or hardness of a paint. For example, Aston Martin and Ferrari typically have very soft paint and its usually laid down quite thin too despite being very high quality. Honda also suffers from soft paint but paints can vary from car to car, nevermind between manufacturers. Interior quality is similiar. You'll find that high quality leather is soft and therefore tends to mark/wear easily. In some of the Lexus vehicles, its semi-aniline so will mark quite badly if caught. Same thing with plastics - you'll find that low rent plastics will be almost impossible to scratch. Reliability has been a massive thing for Lexus so its a very rare occurrence that your car has had such major issues. I don't doubt there will be a recall at some point regarding the NX bushes if its affecting a lot of cars - there certainly was for my 2nd gen RX -
Good buy or stay away?

Could have been on business servicing though considering its done 50k in less than 3 years. So those intervals would have been 12k or every year The real concern is it has no service after 25k from what was said so that is 24k miles without service. That car won't sell at that price - it'll be flung through auction and fetch £16-17k -

Thats exactly what they do - they usually say you can order a facelift one with £5k discount. However, we have these available - in stock models, fully loaded and chances are they can find the colour combo unless its really rare (like red on red for example) and they have £7-10k off list. Most Lexus cars are pre-configured anyway and sold whilst on the ship. If you want a special build, the waiting time is roughly 3-4 months- 18 replies

Watched it today. May as well compare apples to oranges but the initial part was good. Didn't understand the pricing point either because it's relatively cheap compared to other cars of its class. Didn't understand why it was tested on a track though. Stupid really.

Some dealers haven't got their demos yet. The website hasn't changed either most likely because they have some older models in stock to sell. The Facelift ones seem to have similiar discounts to before. Carwow have £5.2k off. I built a naples yellow f sport with Clove interior just to make sure it was a facelift- 18 replies

Yep hopefully there'll be some good options in the future - however, have to say that this combination of sizes has been around since 2011 - on mercs and BMWs so I can't see why its taking them so long to come up with all season tyres for this combo. This is a pic of 245/40 r18 on 8.5J Does have some stretch but not drastic I dont think

Ah well, you win some you lose some I guess. I have no doubts about Lexus quality because Ive owned quite a few with no issues at all. My 3RX had bushes go after 5 years but nothing else in 8 years of ownership, 3RX had stuck brakes (but it was my fault for putting the brakes on after washing and parking it up for 3 weeks) but no other problems in 5 years of ownership. 4RX has no issues and 3IS has none either after 4.5 years. Sounds like it may be a manufacturing defect thats been missed rather than anything else -
Looking for a 300h

Ah you might struggle - sometimes the dealers take 1-2 weeks for prep etc -
235/45 and 245/45 are both SUV tyres. The sidewall is massive. 245/40 will be fine but sidewall will be slightly larger Will give a similiar look like this but maybe slightly better due to less sidewall on rear Fronts are 225/40 and rears are 255/40.

Thats a hell of a good deal there for a low mileage NX with a decent engine! -

Have you noticed that you guys all have pre-facelift 2017's? These issues have never been present on older models. We had the odd rattling number plate on an NX but nothing like groaning suspension, dried out bushes etc. The UK cars are built in Japan and they must have been getting ready to get the facelifts out I'd be asking for a new car at this point Ed. Chances of this only affecting the later pre-facelift Sport and F-Sport models?! -
Agreed regarding the perceived quality and true quality. I wouldn't own a German brand without an extended warranty after the first 3 years. With Lexus, Ive felt no need to purchase an extended warranty on any of their vehicles. With regard to barriers, I agree with number 2 and 3 but not with the styling. The styling is the reason Lexus has taken off in the past few years. Its the reason why NX sales are doing very well. You can get 10k off an Audi A6 but there are a few reasons for that - firstly, you have to add a lot of options to get it up to a decent specification. Additionally, the new A6 has been revealed and has been spotted for a while now. Once spy shots start coming out of the next gen, current model prices drop massively. Lexus offer £6-7k on a GS as well with a better specification so in reality, there's barely any difference in offered discounts.

New Owner Advice... petrol and updates
rayaans replied to b33rdy's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Its impossible to measure fuel economy of different fuels. Too many variables. -
Yep ok so what's happened there is the top clear coating is coming off, hence why you've been having the colour come off on leather cleaning wipes. Mine certainly dont look like that. The only explanation I can think of are metal buttoned trousers or jeans. I made the same mistake once and it looked exactly like that on my 2004 RX and had to have it repaired. Bought new jeans with studs at the back, didn't give it a second thought and it left marks all over the seat but particularly in those two spots. I have no idea how the middle line would be caused though Either way, since then, I only have plastic buttons on my trousers and buy jeans without buttons at the back.
