  1. Not entirely sure but I would presume they can just swap them over entirely and reprogram. But, I would be prepared just in case to have them change all the sensors around.
  2. Our IS doesn't have rusty calipers either, and neither did my 3RX. My 4RX doesn't at the moment but its too new to really tell. I don't think its the way they made but whats been used to clean the wheels, and how long calipers have been left without cleaning. Commonly, when people wash their cars, they miss out the calipers or they use strong acidic products which will cause this kind of rust on calipers. The new Mercs have horrible centre caps, they need changing really often! So much so that my Father in law has got cheap ebay ones which look the same - yet they are much better at resisting corrosion. VW Aluminium ones tend to do the same. Mercs wheels are notoriously bad for corrosion too.
  3. Not a fault, Im pretty sure it highlights the box to show where the cursor is
  4. Change the battery, might be the problem, especially in colder weather. Its very simple to do and listed in the manual
  5. In theory Paypal will protect you. In practice, its not that great. If its over £100, you might be better off using your credit card instead and if there is a problem, going through your bank under section 75
  6. Doesn't surprise me Whole VAG group is like that TBH. Of course, you would probably expect more with Porsche than VW for example but my son's Golf had a ABS brake pressure sensor failure. These were recalled and the VIN was in the middle of the ones that VOSA gave as having a problem. Well, for some reason, VW said it didn't have the issue (yeah well why has it got the issue then?!) and wanted £600 to fix + diagnostic charge. Got my indie to do it for £100 labour and supplied him with a reconditioned part for £200.
  7. Maybe Im missing something but that looks like a GS one so won't fit the 2nd gen IS Perhaps you meant this one? https://www.carmats4u.com/tailored-boot-liners/lexus-boot-liners/lexus-is-2005-2013-boot-liner-mat-tray.html
  8. Yep that sounds about right. There's usually a long gap between when these things are released and their deliveries unless theyre facelifts. Although I think the IS facelift took 6 months from being unveiled to deliveries!
  9. The protective coating on semi aniline leather is much thinner than standard leather. The process of cleaning too often might rub the top layer off I wouldn't think they need conditioning. A sealant should be fine without attracting dirt, maybe that's why it's getting dirty enough to clean every 2 weeks! I leave mine for 6-12 months atleast unless they get something really bad
  10. I deal with disabled people for a living - thats my job. The blue badge thing is a bit of a scam tbh, yes I get some people really need it. But the problem lies with those who have it for the wrong reasons, and those who abuse it i.e. family members. These disabled badges are given to people with walking sticks who can walk for miles and miles. In that case, I don't think its necessary. Also, disabled badges can be obtained by people with disabilities of the arms - last time I checked, that didn't affect how far they could walk....or whether it caused any difficulty in walking.... All disabilities aren't the same
  11. It'd be interesting to see how the GS/ES replacement is going to be priced. The only issue with your comment is that the GS300h isn't sold in the USA, so itd be priced higher anyway due to the 450h setup.
  12. Have you tried putting a toddler into a baby seat before? The doors are able to open wide enough in parent and child bays. Start taking them out, there's going to be a lot more dings on everyone's cars. As for disabled bays - surely it could be argued that they're unneeded. For a start, every disabled person around here seems to park on double yellows right outside the shops rather than in the disabled bay anyway!
  13. Batteries should be OK even at that mileage. Hybrid health check each year costing £59 gives you an extra 1 year warranty on the hybrid system. But overall, these things are much more reliable than other vehicles, so its unlikely you would get a bill to do with the hybrid system More likely itll be the standard items at that mileage - bushes, maybe waterpump etc
  14. I prefer to just do it myself - don't use ceramics personally though - used it once and realized that I was waxing/putting sealant on top anyway so wasn't worth it. Haven't had chance to do it on the RX yet due to weather and other commitments but its been protected with spray sealants every wash. Should get the time to do it this summer.
  15. The new ones make a whirring noise when opening and closing.
  16. Use an old chair. Good for sitting on when polishing sides too
  17. Yep thats the one - glad its sorted!
  18. This is what I don't get though "lucky not to have received parking penalty notices" - in my view thats daft. Just give them one, no ifs and no buts. Then next time they'll think twice about doing it. I think the government needs to give more power to supermarkets atleast and allow them to give parking notices. The amount of non-disabled drivers using disabled bays, single occupants using child and parents bays etc etc is quite amazing tbh
  19. Go for the Viofo A119 which is sub £100 and is very good. Can use with a standard hardwiring kit i.e. a fuse piggyback but make sure you check what size fuses you have. I nearly got caught out because I checked my son's car (to which the dashcam was being fitted) and most of the fuses were small rather than the large ones which the piggybacks tend to use.
  20. Button to the right of the steering wheel where the ASC control is. You can manually turn the parking sensors on and off using this. Instrument cluster will permanently show a P with lines coming out of it if its turned on.
  21. In my car I just use the volume control buttons on the steering wheel to adjust it. Only works whilst you're making the call obviously
  22. Probably a bit of both! The dealers have always given me a price that's a bit more than WBAC.
  23. Yes it is a wider vehicle and longer too.
  24. That is very true. £5k seems daft though. Are you sure it's even right? Usually Lexus dealers tend to be on the money or not far off the book value. They usually use HPI valuations formerly CAP. They all make a profit of £3-4k in the end but it'd odd. Unless Arnold Clark are pricing it at like £35k 😂😂
  25. Probably confused with the latest RX which doesn't have air suspension on any grade. But in 2015 yes the premier had air suspension Tbh the ride is fairly tight. Something to do with anti rolling safety malarkey and having to handle semi well for people to buy the thing. Felt my RX300 was a but disconcerting at high speed, would probably feel similiar to the 400h whereas the newer ones are more stable
