  1. There was one on here IIRC last year, ended up in a container along with a Bentley. At least one other that I know of this year in the UK as well.
  2. I wouldn't have any drivetrain concerns, however I would want to have it inspected to ensure the battery pack is in optimal condition and the cooling system is in good order. (As with any Lexus/Toyota hybrid) It would be worth considering the additional wear on suspension at that mileage, so possibly could be in for bushes etc given the weight of the car.
  3. Yeah, but he's been flat out in 1st and 2nd for 6 years... 🤣
  4. Unless I'm going mad, I thought they got a good thrashing at the factory before delivery anyway?
  5. If it's graphite black then it's probably a Black Inspiration...
  6. Is it me, or does it not have the carbon engine cover?
  7. This won't capture anything not registered yet, but was are in to April it should start to pick up 2024 cars soon. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?q=LEXUS+LC+500&commit=Search Gives 523 in total with around 50 registered in 2023. (A lot of those being special editions)
  8. I ended up booking a call back from them via a webform, I did message the chap on here but never got an answer. Call back was fine and got good service & pricing. 🙂
  9. The LC is a relaxing cruiser with enough grip and grunt to have a bit of fun, all the while looking and sounding stunning. If you want engaging, get something lighter with a better power to weight ratio.
  10. IIRC you had a thread on Pistonheads about this car too? Might be worth bumping that and mentioning it's up for sale too.
  11. I had a play around with the valves on the controller, the difference when they are open is a slightly deeper tone - that's it. The GPF is a bugger!
  12. If it's a GPF car the benefit is much smaller, so bear that in mind. 🙂
  13. I agree the scope for fraud/being endlessly dicked about is bigger with more expensive items, so there is an element of being willing to take a hit for a lot less risk/grief - but not a WBAC type hit!
  14. Are you planning on replacing it directly, or looking to just move on for now? If it's the former look at PX with cash +/- from a main dealer/ (I did this with mine vs a Supra) I'd definetely see if Lexus will offer you a decent price for it. (If they are still interested in buying them in for stock)
  15. In my case it was that, plus the fact I was struggling to safely negotiate the diddy little lane anytime I wanted to take it out. Solution was a manual Supra, a bit smaller so easier to live with. (probably every bit as nickable!)
  16. That was one of the factors that made me decide to sell - the dickheads would trash it anyway before they find out it's not possible to steal it.
  17. 5th of July 2023: Good afternoon Brett Thank you for your reply and for your update. It is a great pity that you have had to sell your car. There is always a risk with such an attractive and desirable product that someone wants it, without having to pay for the privilege. As per my previous reply, we have only just started to see feedback relating to the LC and so it is something which is on our radar. The most effective method of protecting your car from this type of theft method is a ghost immobiliser, which is not a product we manufacture. However, we will look to see if any other deterrents can be used as well but this could take some time as this issue appears to be concentrated within London and the M25. I really hope that you can look at Lexus again in the future and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Kind regards Claire Dean Lexus Customer Relations Case Manager Toyota (GB) PLC - Lexus Division Distributor of vehicles, parts and accessories for the UK
  18. Hah! I have it in writing from them! Dodgy gits!
  19. You need a physical deterrent - none of the immobilisers etc will prevent them damaging the car before they realise it's a non-starter. Make sure your vehicle is too much risk to touch vs others in the area. Locked garage with something else in front, bollards, etc etc.
  20. What a shower of bastards 😞 Lexus deserve a huge kicking 😞
  21. That's awesome - wish I had installed one of those!
  22. Cayman GT4 - I really wanted one, but Porsche wouldn't entertain the idea of actually selling me a new one. AMG GT - decided it was far too ugly Roma - by the time I had it specced how I wanted it to be it was near £300k, sod that F-type - Felt like a step down McLaren GT - put off by the scary customer service stories and reliability tales LC - Noise, feel, reliability, dealer experience - loved it, but ended up being a bit too big, (and therefore vulnerable) for my location, glad I had one though.
  23. It's only going to be a potential investment if you don't drive and put it directly into storage for 5-10 years. Even then, unless you own the storage space you will be unlikely to see a profit vs storage cost.
  24. The best thing you can have is sensible, easy to live with physical security measures. Ideally keep the car garaged with another car in front of the garage, if you have a driveway with a gate you can lock - even better. Most CANBUS thefts are done because the thieves do not want to risk a confrontation, so if it's not really easy they much less likely to go for yours.
  25. The risk overall is very small given how few LC500s are in the UK, but for me the worst part about CANBUS theft on the LC is the fact they have to essentially rip off the front bumper to do it. 😞
