  1. Todays replacement was aborted due to them not realising the lower panel and side trims are essentially sacrificial; they have contacted a partner firm in the USA that has done a screen change on an LC500 to confirm the additional parts. A bit of a faff, but actually the approach of the guys from autoglass has been flawless - they are not going to start a job they can't finish, and they are super careful. Will update when the job finally gets done!
  2. It's got to go into one of the glass fitting centres specifically because of the sensors, so I'm guessing they have learnt that the hard way now! 😄
  3. Booked in for a couple of weeks time with the insurers recommended firm... fingers crossed nothing else gets damaged/marked when they do it!
  4. I'll get the bonnet done via Lexus, but they have categorically stated they do not do their own windscreen replacements - so this could be fun! Maybe I should see if I can book them in to do the replacement on site at the dealer? 🤔
  5. Has anyone on here had their screen replaced yet? Have you had any issues post installation? Mine now needs doing after a hefty impact on Monday, Lexus have said to just use a mainstream windscreen firm via my insurers as they don't employ any fitters... (I'll also need the bonnet repairing/respraying from the same stone/rock/asteroid!) Thanks in advance! 😇
  6. Now I have my Etsy valve controller installed things are a lot better! 😄
  7. Little bump as we are getting close to the event now 😎
  8. To be fair, I do have previous for exhaust mods on V8 Lexus...
  9. That's a bit too much for me, I've been down that road with a lot of cars - now I like the idea of being able to easily choose between noisy and quiet! 🙂
  10. I've got it set to car control as it's start up/normal mode - so unless I give the remote a single click it stays in factory mode - so nothing to see or spot unless they start taking up the boot floor randomly. Not due a service for awhile as only delivered at the end of May.
  11. I have the Etsy controller, and it makes a difference in the lower RPM range... but missing some of the bark from the earlier cars.
  12. Would be interesting to know who, if anyone, on here has modified the exhaust so far? I keep looking at Armytrix as that seems to the one with the most coverage - but there must be other options?
  13. I'll have a go at getting over there 🙂
  14. I once got near 40mpg in my 450hL, but that was more down to luck. 28-35mpg more realistic!
  15. The LC is very comfortable, it's not directly comparable to an LS or Range Rover in terms I'd ride because they are so different- but it's a relaxing cruiser and won't make you wince with every pot hole! I don't think you would be disappointed with a 2017 model. 🙂
  16. Around £900-1200 for the ceramic, nearer £5500 for PPF 👍
  17. Mine is black, with black bits on a black backgound! 🤪 Intersting that it has the full leather seats, not half & half as per a sport+. I had the same...just no follow through, and at the time Lexus UK had no demonstrators available anywhere in the UK. Lexus Hedge End offered me a go in an early LC500 that was in stock, and that was fine by me as I intend to keep it for a long time - so seeing how one a few years old was wearing seemed a good idea. I decided on the IGL Kenzo because you never know how good the factory coatings are - and it gave an opportunity to get the wheels and calipers coated too. (and it wasn't daft money either)
  18. Woohoo! 😄 Which interior have you gone with? RE: Lexus dealer apathy and LC500... I had exactly the same issues, it took trips to 3 dealers before I found one that was actually interested. (I wonder if they have the same issues Mazda had in the early 90's whereby only certain dealers were allowed to sell them, so the rest of the network gets a bit cagey?)
  19. He couldn't get it to restart anyway, so a moot point in the end. A classic race though 🙂
  20. Probably a late '94 with those wheels?
  21. I'm probably going to attend, so could be two of us! 😄
  22. I had the body, wheels and calipers ceramic coated - they did a really good job. (I'm reusing their photos as my camera skills are a little suspect!) I collected at the end of May, so probably 🙂
  23. I sometimes notice it's slower to engage a gear in comfort, but no throttle response issue. Suspect it's going to need live diagnostics to work out what's really going on with yours and the one you quoted. (Could be a strange combination of gear, gradient and steering angle etc... or a duff sensor!)
  24. What drive mode are you in at the time?
  25. I can answer some of this for you. 🙂 I have a black inspiration, and on delivery it didn't have the "Inspiration" style build plate like some others I have seen online - instead it has a "Bespoke Build" plate instead. After some back and forth via the dealer we were able to ascertain that UK cars won't have an individual numbered plate, but the following are true as of last week: So far 3 black inspirations have been ordered in the UK. (I know of two, my V8 and a hybrid that Lexus Coventry have as a demo car/on eBay... so third is either still in build, or delivered and off the radar) They expect the total number in the UK to be between 13-15. Black Inspiration builds will end in March 2023. Lexus UK were able to confirm the build date on mine, and that I have "No.1" for the UK - first time I've been number 1 for anything! 😁 The wheels, paint, dark chrome and spoiler are stunning in the flesh, (and the spoiler is ever-present in the wing mirrors!) the paint appears deep black to heavily flaked graphite depending on how the light hits it. 🥰 I've got a thread on elsewhere about it, but here's some pics:
