  1. Yes I know what you mean, I guess it’s what you’ve been used to before. This is a different way of driving with cvt but in Sport+ Mode there is a definite change from the about town driving where you have speed limits etc., to the feel of the car on the open road with the suspension and road holding and as you say, the paddle shift. It has taken me a little while for me to get used to the difference from my previous IS250 (which wasn’t a hybrid btw, I should have mentioned that in my previous post) it’s is certainly quicker than that was and the breaking is superb even on corners, it stays where you put it. Anyway, a good discussion which will give a lot of readers reasons to look at this car in ways they may not have considered and may not have driven a hybrid before.
  2. Reading through these posts, I was wondering if the test drive of the RC300h F Sport included the paddle shifts. There’s a noticeable difference in the performance when using these as you can hold it in lower gear. Another mention was the fuel consumption. There is a huge difference in this depending on where you live. For instance, if you live in hilly terrains you will use more fuel. I proved this with my is 250, normally 32 mpg in Devon, but in Suffolk I hit 50 mpg.
  3. Hi, is there a complete service schedule available for the is250? I have never asked Lexus about this but presumably depends on age and mileage. For instance, in some other makes the cam belt needs to be changed etc., I recently changed the oil in the differential. Has anybody done this? Wow, what a difference this made. The car is so quiet now, the only noise I have now is tyres on our awful roads!
  4. Can I just ask, when changing front discs, is it a good idea to apply copper grease to the hub before attaching the discs in order to prevent them from rusting on?
  5. I've put a new link for the brakes in the How to section

Thanks normski2, appreciate it. I was hoping to tackle this today but my pads have not turned up from the supplier,😩 I don't suppose they will be here until Monday now, it's not good as I paid for 24 hr courier delivery!

I'll have a look at your blog all the same though, thanks again,

  6. Unfortunately, this link does not seem to be working now.
  7. I agree with johnatg, I bought the rubbers from toyota (no Lexus dealer near me). The blades are specifically designed so that the rubbers can be replaced. Look on YouTube for instructions, it's really easy and took me about 10 minutes.
