Well ive had the CT200H 2 weeks now and im absolutely loving using this thing day to day. So comfy, quiet, easy and cheap to drive. Its an absolute joy. Didnt realise the fuel tanks was so small!! I did 15 miles with the fuel light on and just about squeezed £40 into it with an estimated return of 425miles!!! Gave it its first bit of TLC, good wash off, attacked it with the clay bar which tbh there wasnt much to get off, quick polish with super resin and a quick coat of EZ Sl02 ceramic wax, not happy tbh as i needed to take more time over it, the moisture was dropping in the air as the evening came. Dont attack me for no tyre shine i was at the Mrs house and forgot to take it. That last picture you can really see how the moisture dropped. Got some nice beading (i know im sad) and a good picture of frozen beads!

Lexus service stamps vs independent servicing
rob_clio172 replied to Mcalr3's topic in Lexus General Discussions
1 problem with independent places is they maybe cheaper but they dont always know what is due on each interval like a dealer would. So you end up having a "cheaper" service but not having essential items replaced or checked. Meaning the stamp in the book is nothing more than a stamp. Buying a car with service hsitory is a must but when its main dealer history it just gives that little more peace of mind imo. -

Decat Manifold Installation Video!

Quite enjoyed watching that, your pretty relaxed infront of a camera i dont think i could do the whole youtube thing i would look and sound pretty crap on camera 😂 although i would love to do something like that for my build. -
If that light on the button lights up then it maybe ok, the defrost will be for the wiper blades not the screen. If you look at the black area where the wipers are parked there should be some heated lines like on the rear screen, feel them and see if they are warm when its on.

Rear discs have come but still waiting on the stoptech pads! So same as the front i gave the calipers a good clean up, primer and some paint. Gave the hand brake shoes a good clean up. So other than the rear pads that take seconds to throw in im getting ever closer to that dyno day! Few more minor bits that need sorting and its ready.

Yeh just have a look under it, either way inner or outer the drive shafts will have to be removed anyway. Might be worth getting hold of some 2nd hand shafts and just throwing them in rather than strip them down to change the boots

😂 cheers mate, yeh i know these can be a problem on these carriers so i thought whilst im here just replace them as they are pretty cheap on ebay. Its so nice putting brakes together with absolutely zero dirt or dust on them.
-
So resizing the image seemed to have worked. Here she is, balancing out the polution the IS300 is pumping out 🤣. On to the brakes, wasnt going to post any pics but i did manage to get the 1 side of the fronts togehter last night and now ive figured out how to post again so here they are.

Small update, ive started cleaning and painting all the calipers and brakes are ordered. These parts have been very slow coming through, still waiting on rear discs and pads. I have all new rear pad fitting kit, from carrier pin and bush kit, stoptech street front and rear pads and brembo cross drilled discs all round. Was going to go with a big brake kit but as this car is probably going to be too loud for tracks it probably wont see anything apart from santapod. BBK would probably be over kill and talking to a few running big power and doing trackdays they suggest that a good disc and pad combo would be adequate for the road, if not i will run them for a little bit and swap it out for something. No pics just yet as i will wait for everything to turn up. Another update is ive swapped the dailey driver Celica Tsport for a Lexus CT200H. Absolutely worlds apart in terms of quality although the Celica has had a hard life with 140k on it. Well i would load pics but seems to be that problem with an error message again when loading pictures, tried 13 pics and not 1 will load🤨

Yeh thats what the dealer had done, the salesman just didnt realise it was free. He was kinda saying like they had paid for it like doing me a deal with the price 😂 looked pretty suprised when he realised
-
Cheers, yeh when i picked it up (from an Audi dealer) salesman said its all been taxed and half a tank of fuel put in for you..... i said isnt this exempt from road tax? To which he kinda stuttered and said err im not sure i didnt sort it but i will go and check 😂
-
Not the F-sport, i believe its just Sport. Been looking for some time and always looked at white 1s although the 1 i really wanted was silver.... then this popped up perfect combo with black wheels, grill and mirror caps.

🤣🤣 . Yeh the only thing i will miss about it compared to the CT for a daily driver is the punchy 1.8 190 lump it had but tbh i think im going to enjoy the fuel economy more. Ive got the IS300 for my speed fix.
-
Great to hear, hope so. This is the newest car ive owned so want it to last. Looking into getting the 2-4-1 extended warranty which is a really good price, always good to have a bit of peace of mind.

Hey, so ive finally took the plunge and joined you lot in CT200H ownership. Traded in my daily driver 05 plate Celica Tsport, only picked it up today so still having a play with bits and bobs. 66 plate on 36k, so much better than the now dated Celica and can really feel the build quality difference, although that might have something to do with the 140k it had on the clock! Absolutely loving learning and playing with how to drive this thing to get best mpg. I know have a clean/cleaner green car to balance out my pollution pumping IS300 turbo🤣. Strange having 2 Lexus's both at complete opposite ends of the spectrum!
-
Dont quote me on this but the time this colour came out i think each dealer got 1 to sell, pretty sure it was 52.
-
🤣 yeh ive played it a few times myself. Yeh i will definitely need something wider and stickier. Im rolling the arches soon as they are catching but with the wheels i have im on the best offset available. I think once ive got through these NS2R's im going to either go with an R888R or the Dunlop Direzza DZ03G in a 265 wide. I think that maybe as wide a tyre as i can get on this wheel setup. From other people ive spoken too on big power the R888R's in that size hook pretty good, this tyre game is going to get expensive!
-
Thanks man, yeh im kinda glad i stayed with the oem look now. Im thinking of maybe trying to get hold of the trd side skirts. I do like the look of them.

Well ive hit another big milsetone in the journey today....... MOT is done and passed! Was a bit of a spur of the moment decision as i was given the day off work today so i took my car in for an mot instead. Have a couple of pics of it on the ramp and a cheeky video of it sounding nasty. 20201114_105608.mp4 Only done just over 3000 miles in just over 4 years, was gutted as i ended up driving it in the rain but i guess once wont hurt anymore than it already has.
-
Good see its flew through the mot, nervous day for me as mine is going in today.

Nice work! Always nice to get things done especially things like the brakes and how bad they was. As for the garage not wanting to use parts supplied by yourself even though they was genuine.... i suspect this may have something to do with them not being able to make much profit in the job. They may have wanted to use none genuine parts and made money off the parts themselves by bumping the price up. Top work, love the attention to detail 👌
