She's ready..... Finally finished apart from 1 last job which is out of my hands. Here a few pics of the process for the front bumper. This was a 2nd hand bumper which was green and it needed a little work to get it up to scratch. I had also removed the plinth with the intention of having a plate made to fit the recess, this left 2 square holes to patch up. This was done by cutting 2 pieces of plastic the exact same size and plastic welding them into the holes, this then had filler skimmed over them to tidy it up aswell as all the little stone chips. Quick lick of paint.... Over the moon with it, also had the rear bumper, front splitter, washer caps and mirror covers done too. Then I got the genuine Altezza 3 bar grill fitted with a genuine black Altezza badge, I've had this tucked away ready for this moment. Yeah yeah it's not an Altezza...... I know..... am I trying to be and Altezza???..... no but this grill looks so much better than any other grill out there for these cars, imo of course. This is it, next update will be the dyno results. I'm damn excited, almost 4yrs at it and I just can't believe ive actually seen it through to the end.

Maybe cam belt snapped jumping the timing? They are known to rub on the timing covers until nothing is left.

Looks great 👍

Thanks man, yeh ive always been a fan of the rpf1, they seem to look good on pretty much what ever they go on
-
Yeh i bet it did, incredible! 🤣 dont worry about that..... it was worth it to see that.
-
Damn, thats a masterpiece of engineering!!!
-
It is actually pretty close to a ford colour, Focus ST orange, it has a gold flake in there. Is that an old F1 Cossie lump?
-
Thanks mate, oh god yeah i cant wait. Hopefully the dyno session will be straight forward with no issues! Would be nice just to jump in it 1 morning and take off to where ever.
-
Cheers mate, will hopefully get the exterior looking just as good!

Well ive managed to hit another milestone...... the very last piece has been fitted to the engine and i can now close the bonnet ready for the paint work to be completed. Nuke Performance catch can now fitted and lines installed. Ive decided to recirculate the breather now on the recommendation of the tuner as its not breathing heavy at all, although the original plan wasnt too. So to mount it i removed the passenger headlight and drilled into the front member above the light and fitted to rivnuts. This is it... the final look of the bay, 3yrs and 7 months to get to this point and shes mechanically ready! nothing else left to do in there....... for now 😂. So i just need the front and rear bumpers painting and off for mapping in may! Its all becoming real now the end is in sight

Cough "cat was present at time of test" 👍

Thanks mate, i appreciate the kind words. Yeah i will be knocking around the shows/meets so we will cross paths at somepoint. Best is still to come as its in for paint and mapping pretty soon!

Sooooo back to the label... any idea anyone?

Wasnt this same engine also put the Toyota Avensis? Was this engine in the Avensis before Lexus introduced the IS220d maybe?

https://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/toyota/supra/turbo-upgrades/turbo-kits/garage-whifbitz-2370.html Speak to whifbitz about your application/ideas, they will help guide you. There is so many differnet options to pick from depending on what you want. They have done loads of na-t Supras and know there stuff.

🤣 that should just about cover fuel costs, good idea i like it.

Well the neoprene rubber gasket did the trick. Got it cut out to the size of the existing gasket, got it fitted and tested it again with the leak detector kit. 20210208_162753_1.mp4

Ah that should be relatively easy then as i think stock internals can handle that or thereabouts. You will also be able to keep the existing intake mani as the kits available will cater for that. I would go with 1 of the turbo kits available for this kind of build and it should do the trick perfectly.

Ive spent alot.... way more than i budgeted for tbh. It depends which route you go down, power level goals, parts used..... I fully built the engine from top to bottom with alot of quality proven parts from ARP crank and rod studs/nuts/bolts, ACL race bearings, rods and pistons rated for well over 1000bhp to Brian Crower cams, 3 angle valve job, custom intake mani and a fuel system which can handle 1000 bhp if i drop a 2nd pump in the tank. This is just a fraction of the bits used. Alot dont go this far, some go further. If you want to go na-t without the expense of opening the engine, changing the intake manifold and modifying the existing fuel setup it can be relatively cheap but you wont be able to run big power. Yes im manual swapped with an R154 from the later jzx110, also using a Spec twin disc clutch setup.

Hes also using a 215 tyre and not a 225 and a 235 which is why the other 1 looks to be more chunky. With the coils hes just got more of a drop on it so you wouldnt have to go as low as that if you didnt want to.

https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery/926775/2000-lexus-is300-enkei-kojin-bc-racing-coilovers Have a look at this and other combos on this link, it can be done but says it will rub, ita pretty aggressive and loosk as though you might need alot of camber on the front to tuck the tops of the wheels/tyres under or flush with the arch. There is a calculator on there to input all the sizes and specs then links it results.
-
Hmmm im not sure, its quite an aggressive offset +35. I will do some digging.
-
The tyres are 225/40 R18 and 255/35 R18. The rears i will probably go for a 265 next with a more sticky tyre.
-
Fronts are 18 x 8.5j (+40 offset) Rears are 18 x 9.5j (+45 offset) It did rub on the back going over speed bumps or dips in the road and the lip started to cut the tyre, all sweet now the lip has been rolled and a slight pull on the arch.
-
Not sure on exact measurements as i changed the suspension 1st then had to raise it to put the wheels on but i would guess about 50mm. Rear arches have now been rolled so i would probably like to drop another 5mm or so on the back.
