  1. John .. I have a Po-40 fitted and has been for quite a while now. How long have you had yours fitted? I don't mind taking a look at the way mine is installed and taking pictures or notes on wiring and also if the fried junction box is easy to get to (do you have the exact location) I will have a look at that as well if it will help... I have been down the road with the expense of Lexus parts and the long lead times they quote in getting them so I know exactly how you feel about this, probably want to get rid of the car as I did but there will be a resolution I am sure
  2. 250 SE-L no argument .... be worth you reading the forums regarding the diesels There's not a lot of choice to be had for the SE-L models (pre-facelift) looks like people hold onto them for quite a while and when they come up for sale they go quick.
  3. There was a recall for this I believe they solved it by adding two hooks to the carpet which hooked into holes in the mats preventing them from slipping
  4. I am pretty sure there has been a post last year from someone drivine on motorway who had the same issue ... I don't know date it was posted etc
  5. Been covered a lot of times on the forum but just wondering if anyone has bought any recently and where it can be bought from - either OEM or a good alternative.. thanks
  6. Hi John .... There was an issue with replacement windscreens in that they were not being sealed correctly on the is200 and letting water in behind the dash and with Lexus's track record of resolving ongoing issues from model to model (such as brakes etc...) it may be worth a looksee just to see if any noticeable water marks - am only asking because this is probably the first time this problem has been presented on the forum and from a car that has has a windscreen replacement.... Clutching at straws ... Good luck with Lexus !! Are you closer to the Cheshire Oaks Lexus branch?
  7. Hi John - Have you ever had the windscreen replaced Looking at the board it looks a bit like there is a liquid stain and the screws untouched by the heat look like they are a bit corroded
  8. Has this happened after the service was done ?
  9. That's a lot of wires ... good job ! Just a reference for the future - when you had the carpet up, under the drivers seat did you see the exhaust sensor cable?
  10. Thanks guys for the info Was dreading taking it out as everything else is working and don't really want to disturb it ... I suppose I can live with the DVD not working, just annoying .... I like Marks comment as it sounds like it could be an easy fix - I cant see how though if it is this, how it has come out? Maybe playing music too loud !! I will give it a go - maybe at the weekend if its not raining !!(ha ha)
  11. Does anyone know if there have been any walk through instructions on removing the centre console housing the Radio / DVD player? This is the ML unit Still no luck on getting sound from the DVD player Music and radio work fine - DVD picture works fine but no playback sound when playing DVD. Amp is all ok Not aware of any fuses just for the DVD sound itself? Not aware of any mute selection for the DVD ? Aux jack is free Is it conceivable that the rear connections on the console could have worked loose through general driving conditions - no one has been behind the console as far as I know and I cant think of any disturbance that has happened around the area of the console. Wouldn't sound present itself from the CD player - - there shouldn't be any different mechanics in playing a DVD compared to a music CD?
  12. Just an update ... 2391 miles done on the recent oil (Magnatec) since it was changed a couple of months ago. It is performing better than the Edge I initially had in the engine - oil is still clear and the level is as it was when it was changed. Compared to the edge at this comparable mileage, the Magnatec is a lot clearer and the level has held. Picture below is of todays reading
  13. If you have disturbed the battery then check the earthing point but that would not explain the lights on the dash. You could try disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it again ...
  14. First real problem with the car that I don't reckon I will manage to repair myself. There is no sound when watching a DVD. Picture is fine and the DVD region is fine (2). Volume is up (but it doesn't actually show the level on the top of the screen when adjusting as it does when adjusting the music volume) Park brake is on. It has previously played DVD's so I put the one disc I knew worked in it and that did not play any sound either. It plays the video just no sound. The sound when playing music from the radio and the cd's is fine Music sound is fine. Am I missing a setting here that has been selected by mistake - something like mute etc or has anyone else had this issue where no sound is available when playing DVD's - blown fuse etc? Any help appreciated thanks
  15. I use Wynns engine flush before changing the oil I have used this for nearly two years now on this car, and also 2 on the last Lexus I had. No issues so I am happy to carry on using it
  16. Nice car in White - good its sorted ..... the issue with the brakes seems to be an underlying issue with the Lexus brand, you would think that such an important part of the car would work properly
  17. It sounds like a brake issue - did the AA try both sides?
  18. I would check the P40 install (even thou it has probably been installed for a while) - make sure grounding connection has not come loose. Also - only recently (last week) I had noticed when I had the passengers side window open (only that one and only about an inch or so) I had my hand resting by the memory buttons on the door card while travelling on a motorway and there was a big draft coming from around the memory button area. When I closed the passenger window the draft stopped. It could have only been coming through the door through the gap in the door jamb. With all the cold and wet weather then I would check if its wet within the door at the P40 location. I also had frozen mirrors but they opened ok when unlocking the car
  19. Isn't removing the cats on a petrol engine after 2003 an MOT failure?
  20. Change the stock air filter to an oiled K&N one. Around £30 and will last the life of the car. You will notice a difference in acceleration, not major but noticeable.
  21. Anyone had a non oem sunroof fitted to their IS?
  22. Very complicated...
