Hi and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over. We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/terms-conditions/ Regards Mike

They issue MOT garages with possible new changes to come in the next year but very few actually happen. There is obviously a dept that comes up with all this nonsense and nothing ever happens but civil servants can never be laid off so this dept keeps churning out crap to try and justify their huge salaries. You pay your taxes and they waste it. -
I never use BP no matter where I am in the country or Europe so it wont make a bit of difference to my life. BP have consistently priced LPG higher than any other suppliers and so never got to build up a regular LPG customer base. LPG is a price sensitive product and that is something BP has never managed to incorporate in the business model. My best guess at BP filling stations is that the large number of customers they serve are business account customers and they don't care what the price is as they don't pay the bill. BP? NO LOSS. My SatNav has all the LPG stations installed in it so its easy when you are in an unknown area to find someone who sells it.

For many motorists, modifications are a way to cosmetically enhance and personalise their car. Others customise their wheels in order to optimise the driving dynamics and engine performance. However, these seemingly harmless modifications can more than double drivers' insurance premiums, MoneySuperMarket has found. The British price comparison website reviewed 2.3 million quotes for vehicles listed as modified and discovered that even small additions to a car, such as fitting a sat-nav or changing the paint colour could cost. The most expensive addition found was fitting a turbo engine to a vehicle, which increased insurance quotes by a whopping 132 per cent, pushing the average premium of £494 up to £1,146.Other purely aesthetic additions to bodywork, such as fitting a bonnet bulge, or upgraded wheel arches saw prices shoot up by an average of 66 per cent, while transmission or gearing changes saw a 63 per cent rise in a premium.Interestingly, a 57 per cent hike was attributed to fitting a complete body kit and 41 per cent to removing seats and adding roll bars and cages.Changes to paintwork and uprated brakes were found to equally affect car insurance, with quotes increasing by an average of 36 per cent for vehicles with these modifications. Changes to a vehicle's exhaust system and upgrading its suspension increased prices similarly, with the latter seeing a 26 per cent rise, and the former one of 25 per cent. Finally, even adding stripes, decals or badges saw a 22 per cent increase in the average cost of insuring a vehicle.Kevin Pratt, consumer affairs expert at MoneySuperMarket, explained why modified vehicle owners can expect to pay more for their insurance.'Insurance is based on risk, and modifying your car is a warning sign to insurers,' he said.'For example, spoilers or turbo engines will mean a vehicle goes faster, and therefore increase the likelihood of an accident, while car phones and sat-navs are attractive to opportunistic thieves, so insurers balance the scales by pushing premiums up.'When you change anything about your car, you change the original specification which may invalidate your policy if you don't inform your insurer.'Reporting the changes might mean a higher premium, but having an invalid policy is considered fraudulent and could reduce or even remove the prospect of a pay-out if you had to make a claim.'Motorists looking to lower their premium are advised to opt for functionality improvements to their vehicles, such as fitting parking sensors or tow bars, which see average insurance prices fall by 13 and 20 per cent respectively.

No point in fitting a flash lube system the engines don't need it. Its just another way of getting a hundred or so more pounds out of you. In the 16 years I have been using on all my cars I have ever owned I have never had one fitted and I still know of three of the cars that I have sold to people and they are all still running strong. I have run on LPG for the past 16+ years and had all my cars converted and never had a lubrication system fitted on any of them. If it runs on Unleaded then LPG will not do any damage to your engine. LPG also has far fewer contaminates to hurt your engine over petrol. LPG also burns at a lower temperature to petrol. You will not regret it just be sure you can trust 100% the people who are going to do the conversion. If you have any doubts about them stop and go somewhere else. If your buying a car already converted BE VERY CAREFUL and check first that there is no smell of gas inside or outside the car, if you do smell gas don't take any excuses just walk away and quickly as you are looking at a bomb. Next make sure that they have the LPG certificate for the car if not walk away. After that look at the conversion and satisfy yourself that it looks like a professional installation. Finally check with your insurance company that they will accept your car being converted if not you will have to find one that will, its getting rarer that they wont accept you but always best to ask first. Profess in South Wales have done my last two conversion at £1400 which has now dropped to £1200 inc VAT and the bonus of using them is they will do it in a day and lend you a car for the day. I have never seen anyone post anywhere they have had a problem after using them. Both our cars haven't missed a beat. Before that I used a company called Duelfuel in Woking Surrey they always wanted a week and wanted nearly £3K to convert the Lexus which is why I started looking round for a better deal. £1200 and Car loan for the day, its a no brainer. If you pay someone ten grand to have a system fitted if they do a bad job you have wasted your money. Other suppliers and installers do not like sorting out other peoples problem so your stuck with it. Finally ignore anything UKLPG have to say, they are just a self appointed sheriff who like you to think they are a government associated body that over sees the LPG industry and its complete rubbish. This also goes for those that say they are affiliated to UKLPG. Good luck with whatever you decide. Mike
