I have sent Steve an email, there is nothing more the mods can do, (apart from jumping on sales based threads). That's not very nice.

I used to love flying British Caledonian. The last of a real airlines that knew how to look after you. I think they were one of the last UK airlines to use the VC10 a fantastic aircraft one of the finest planes to ever made.

I have said for years that if something is required by law then it should be the government that provides it, just like road tax.

My wife is not a lover of driving large cars but when she does use the LS 400 she drives it well, she says the car does most of the driving for you, she means its easy to drive.

I have locked this as it's not going anywhere. The position over the different `banking terms has been explained over and over again. If you are still not clear ring your bank tomorrow or Monday and ask them if they can make it clearer to you.

When paying with a credit card the whole amount is covered, £5000 no problem should anything go wrong but that's not the same with a debit card its normally about £100. Banks don't like to reverse charges on debit cards. You have to have a 100% cast iron argument for them to do it.

Direct Debits and using your Debit card are two entirely different transactions. You don't make Direct Debits with your Debit card. My bank is the same as yours for personal and commercial banking. (Santander)

No companies can issue you with a fine. Only the courts and Police can issue you with a fine. What you get from a private parking company is an invoice for a breach of their rules and regulations. If you just ignore their invoice and following letters they will probably take you through the county courts which will almost certainly land you with more charges. If you still ignore whatever the court has deemed your penalty it will almost certainly be moved over to the High Court and their Bailiffs will be meeting you with a much bigger bill and believe you me they do not take no or tears as an answer.

If I am wrong I apologise but Debit card payments are not covered the same way as Direct Debits and Standing Orders are.

I was referring to Libel/slander cases which would be heard in the High Courts and if you tried to defend or prosecute in the High Court without representation they will eat you and your money for breakfast. These laws are for the super-rich. Robert Maxwell always used Libel/Slander laws to great effect, everytime anyone was going to release something about the Maxwells which was an embarrassment to them, especially to news media something which was in most cases true he would just keep slapping Libel/Slander writs on them and always got away with it as he knew that they couldn't find the money to defend it so they would just go away.

Libel & slander cases are very expensive starting around a cool £250,000 and that would need paying into court before any counsel would even consider taking it on so with that in mind it would need to be a serious slander or libel. These laws are for the rich and famous.

I keep my air con on all the time. Doesn't hurt the MPG as the engine is more than powerful to cope with it.

How much do you want for the cambelt and waterpump kit ? What are you having to drive instead of the LS? Mike.

My LS400 is exactly the same colour spec as your, I love it. I am for keeping these cars as bog standard with the exception of LPG conversion especially to try and keep the value in the car. Standard models will always sell easier than moded cars, but I am old.
