  1. This has been locked because trading insults gets the forum a bad name and are strictly against the T&Cs of the forum. I will deal with the T&C breakers tomorrow.
  2. It was a nice car. Everything worked as it should. Its the only LS I have been in other than my own one.
  3. It is noticeable that if you go into motorway service areas up and down the UK they are shutting down disabled parking bays and replacing them Tesla charging points. Thanks Tesla. As if life isn't tough enough already for us disabled car drivers.
  4. I don't see how we will ever go full electric with cars. Yes, sure there will be some around but that will only be for those who have private land to enable a charging system installed. There are millions of people who live in the inner cities that cant get their cars within a bus ride of where they live so charging for them is going to be at best difficult at worst impossible. The best the world can hope for is to get rid of diesel and all new cars to be made Petrol Hybrid, this gets rid of the need to constantly plug your car in for charging. There is lots of energy lost in cars that design engineers need to recapture and this will further help the Hybrid.
  5. No selling please as you are not a gold member.
  6. Reason for failure O/S/F, O/S/R and N/S/R tyres damage to the outer tyre walls. this damage on all three tyres is of cosmetic importance only. no structural damage or chords exposed. satisfactory for MOT standard . After 2600 miles, something dozen fit right. I would be asking a lot of questions before I drew a penny out of the bank.
  7. Our first 3 bedrooms detached house only cost £30K Value now £375K
  8. Might have been the result of some poorly repaired accident work.
  9. Welcome to the LOC Luke.
  10. Falkens for me to. Quiet, and you get a fair mileage before they need replacing.
  11. Although they call it paper it's not made out of old newspapers it's specialised acoustic card which has been used for years. Some high-end audios come with thin aluminium cones but they don't have the same warmth you get from a card coned speakers.
  12. Welcome to the LOC.
  13. I didn't have a clue. Why would a mod especially know? I have been disabled since I was 9 years old I am now 70 and quite frankly I am fed up with being disabled. I have not had a pain free day in all that time, I take 31 tablets a day. I would like nothing better to be able to cut my blue badge up and chuck it and join the rest of you able-bodied people.
  14. "I deal with disabled people for a living - thats my job." What is your job?
  15. Well, I read what Rayaans wrote three times and agree with Malcolm 100% As soon as I step out of my car I am in pain and it gets steadily worse to the point where I am looking for somewhere to sit for 5 mins. I only go where I have a route worked out where I can rest, I am loathed to start using a wheelchair as I feel that's the beginning of the end. As for Linus, I think he is just trying out a bit of trolling. If you promise to have my disability I will gladly give you my Blue Badge and that offer goes out to everyone who would like a Blue Badge.
  16. "As for disabled bays - surely it could be argued that they're unneeded. For a start, every disabled person around here seems to park on double yellows right outside the shops rather than in the disabled bay anyway!" That's probably because the disabled bays are all taken up by those who abuse them.
  17. You could always park to the rear of the car park where no one ever parks.
  18. Hi Ross. Welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch. Its always good to have an expert on wrapping, I am sure you will get few enquires. Mike.
  19. There aren't too many cars that are 20+ years old that can still look as though it has just come out of the showroom after a good wash & polish. My dark green LS looks a million dollars after a wash and brush up.
  20. No, I realised it was.
  21. "They probably would find strange why disabled people need bays as well" A bad joke yes? "Anyway .... I believe by now we all contributed enough to derail this tread in to something completely different from what original OP posted. Maybe we should wrap-up or created another thread if anyone still wants to discuss this topic?" The natural direction of any thread.
  22. When they built a new Waitrose near to where we live they put parent and child bays nearest to the main entrance with the disabled bays much further away from the main entrance. I bought this up with the store manager and he said that if distance was a problem I could park in the parent and child bays. I did it a couple of times and you should have seen the looks I got from people. It clearly demonstrated that Waitrose felt their parent and child bays were for the customers that they felt they earn most profit from. The parent and child bays have taken away the importance of disabled bays and why parent and child places are provided in the first place is a mystery to me. No point in telling me that car parks are dangerous places for children then look after them properly.
