    Well I had a quick Google on it and the worst that can happen is your fuel pump keeps pumping and it gets hot and burns out.

    I have often seen this answer used as the answer to a problem but I don't think there are any cars out there where the fuel has outlet pipe which is higher than the base of the tank so your petrol/diesel already comes from the lowest point inside the tank and that hasn't been a problem by bringing up rubbish in your petrol tanks, so I am afraid that isn't the answer to your problem.

    Today we drove down to Cornwall 460 miles round trip. Why? to pick up a front bumper as I miss judged how high a kerb was and concrete and plastic do not like each other. Need to change the colour of the bumper to Jade Green so that's my project for the next 3 weeks or so. Now I ache all over, so its this weeks Deadliest Catch and bed time.

    Mercedes estate W124, 2 litre it was always in the garage for one thing or another. Would never have another Mercedes after that. My garage was so disappointed I went from that pile of junk to a Lexus LS 400. She has only had one breakdown in the 11 years I have her and that was because of the Oxygen sensors and a cat went at the same time, my garage replaced both of them, that was 4 years ago and she is still running today just as though she had come out of the showroom. Long live my wonderful LS400
