  1. Who knows what benefit either company gets out of it but the one thing you can be sure of is that if you dont abide br the terms and conditions as your insurance comapny has laid out you give them the excuse for not paying out a claim and leave you in a large pile of doo doo. Mike
  2. Read the terms and conditions of your insurance policy, I dont make the rules up. Mike
  3. Note I didn't say anything about them asking. I said don't ring them and tell them. I couldnt see the bit about "ringing" your insurance company. There can be no argument about informing your insurance company, as soon as it is convenient for you to inform them after the accident if its your fault or not they will expect you to tell them. If you go down the route that the 3rd party is going to pay damages direct and that he has admitted fault for the accident makes no difference you have to ring them, email them or write to them and tell them. To tell people not to inform their insurance company is fool hardy and just plain wrong. Mike.
  4. Its not a good idea to lie to your insurance company. Note I said they ask you if you have had an ACCIDENT and not a claim in the pas 5/6 years. If you lie to them and they find out you can lose your cover and you may then find out insurance companies refuse you insurance in the future. Lie at your peril. Mike
  5. They wont necessarily bump up your premiums for reporting your car had been involved in an accident for which the 3rd party has accepted complete blame and you have recovered all your losses. When you renew your insurance or go for another insurance company you will be asked if you have been involved in any accidents in the last 5/6 years, note they ask for accidents not claims, you need to tell them about any accident and also put you were not to blame and that you recovered all your losses. If you dont they can refuse to cover any future accident damage for failure to divulge previous accidents. You wont know this untill its time to claim or often you will get an administration invoice to amend your policy to show you had an accident which you failed to tell them about. I know someone who was charged £45, yup its all just a money making scam but they have the whip hand. You can always insure your NCB but I dont know of anyone to lose their NCB for being involved in a Non fault accident. Mike
  6. Happy New Year to you Jonathan and your family and to all Lexus fans and LOC members.
  7. Well done Steve you little teaser. Always worth looking at these for sale boards, I have found some bargains over the years. Great way to start the New Year. Mike
  8. One thing worth remembering is if these LSs do go for very strong money it can also lift the value of our own LSs. Mike.
  9. Come on Steve you just cant leave us hanging in mid air. Mike.
  10. This finished at £3300.00 and failed to make the reserve, I cant believe somone bid that amount of money. Mike
  11. Well it finally went for £1010.00 should have taken the first auction when it went for £1350.00 but didnt reach the reserve. Mike
  12. That is pure genius. I didnt find the secret tray under passenger seat until I had owned the car for 5 years. Mike.
  13. That interior looks a great place to be. I could just sit there looking at it. Mike
  14. Sell it, take a hit on the money and buy what you know you shouldnt have got rid of in the 1st place. Happy New Year. Mike
  15. First of all this guy is a dealer. Hes asking £6000 for a car which he can barely put a dozen lines together on it most of which dont tell you anything. Absolutely no mention of service history. LPG system needs a service means it aint working properly and that alone would make not even want to see the car. Getting someone to sort someone elses LPG install will be a nightmare and it would be cheaper to rip the old one out and reinstall. Leave this one for someone else. There are better cars out there than this one. Mike.
  16. I am assuming that Lexus feel that had the part supplied wrongly by them been fitted by them the mistake would have been spotted by their engineer and corrected at that point. Its like all these things, set yourself a position which you think is fair to both sides and negotiate from that standpoint, meet somewhere in the middle and both sides should be reasnably happy. Mike.
  17. Any car is worth only what someone will pay you for it. The car probobly, according to the dealers bible, Glasses guide is not worth it but this car does look as though it is in extreamly good condition. Lets face it this is a dealer and £4K is where you would start negoiatating from. Remember when the tyres need to be replaced this has the DHP wheels on so budget for around £200 (I know it already has new tyres fitted) a corner fitted and balanced. If I was in the market for one I would be looking to pay £3250/£3500. Someone will get a nice car. Mike
  18. Happy Christmas to all LOC members and their families. I trust Father Christmas brings you everything you have asked for. Mike
  19. Remember once you have informed your insurance company each time you are asked have you had any accidents in the last 4/5 years you will have to declare this and as you are at fault for the accident they will not look kindly on if you forget or dont declare it. If of course the third party eventually contacts their insurance company your insurance company will find out that way and could refuse to pay out because you have failed to inform them of the accident. Mike.
  20. To be fair, he's probably only been singled out because he is a regular seller of Lexus LS models, and as such has often been linked to by new members who want advice on one of his cars. You're right though, there are loads like him who make low bids on lots of cars, knowing that some will accept his bid through ignorance, or sometimes because they can't be bothered to go through the normal selling process. When he bids low like that he has already spoiled your auction. As for singling him out, this is a Lexus forum and he sells almost always Lexus LSs so anyone who comes across as dodgy as lexuschap is immediately going to be posted to warn your fellow members and friends. lexuschap has put himself into this position let no one run away with the idea that this guy is being persecuted. One day he will get his just deserts as all his type do. Mike.
  21. There is a thread on here which lists all his Ebay names, they are in the archives somewhere. Mike. I posted them I think, but all I did was check his ID history on ebay. Cheers Mike. Mike.
