  1. Got home last night after a couple of weeks away, and my renewal for the camper was on the mat. You were right Mike, I was pleasantly surprised at the small increase, now I just need to ring regarding my LS renewal, and I'll be a happy bunny, hopefully. Good news, the best sort of news. Mike.
  2. I would go with Lexus, I did last time, no problems, tea and biscuits, the morning paper, Sky news oh and not forgetting a very pretty receptionist. They were also cheaper than some quotes which required me fitting it. Mike.
  3. Insurance companies don't always knock all your NCB on the head because of a claim. I would be interested if anyone does know how much their premium is before they knock off the NCB discount as I haven't seen that figure for years. Mike.
  4. The thread you are asking about was removed because no matter how you dress it up asking for valuations on a car you are about to sell and offering pictures of the car is just an advert in disguise. It would be very unfair on all Gold Members to ignore such threads/posts as they pay for that privilege to advertise, for sale cars/parts etc. Mike.
  5. If you are not going for a replacement hire car then ask for an equivalent amount of money on a daily basis until you are happy with the repairs. I did last year and got £2000. Mike.
  6. The Lexus names is something that the manufacturer of the screens would put in for you. Brand names, marques, Logos or anything you want included can easily be done. Making windscreens is a very specialised item and the equipment needed to make glass screens is enormously expensive and once acquired and set up would need to be producing screens 24/7 and that's just too many screens for Lexus needs. Its the same with tyres. Mike.
  7. I know from previous threads on this subject is that Lexus don't manufacture screens, this is an item that is bought in from a manufacturer that makes screens for loads of different cars. Mike.
  8. I went with Lexus replacements, I cant remember the price but wouldn't have been that expensive otherwise I would have remembered. No problem with the replacement Lexus ones. Mike.
  9. Welcome to the LOC. We are a friendly bunch and only to pleased to help when problems, arise to impart info to you. Enjoy your Lexus Mike.
  10. Prefer the M3 BMW above for its body styling. My son has just bought a Limited Edition 330 CI and that looks fast just standing there. 54 plate 40K full service history custom paint and more toys than a Lexus LS. Unbelievably fast. Too harsher ride for me.
  11. "You can gain a name / address from the web for the reg number" Could you enlighten me more. Mike.
  12. No mention of Cam belt being done other than that it looks good. Went through once before and only got up to £2050 so didn't reach the reserve. Only way to really find out is to go and see it. Mike.
  13. I cant help out with what is wrong with your screen but to say, keep your eyes on Ebay as they often come up there and not for huge amounts of money. Mike.
  14. I think maybe he has read this thread. Mike.
  15. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1997-LEXUS-LS400-AUTO-BLACK-4-LITRE-PETROL-REDUCED-PRICE-/111648420477?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19fec3b27d Goes on and on about no insurance no test drive and then later in the description says its on a SORN no test drive, there are also many other puzzling statements. See what you think Mike.
  16. Its an auto electrician that comes to the village garage when needed in Hampshire. Mike.
  17. I never fitted mine but it only took them just over an hour. Mike.
  18. Brilliant. Another year of happy motoring ahead. Mike
  19. One of the reasons can be because of previous accident damage that wasn't repaired correctly.
  20. If you guys are going to swop details like reg numbers it might be more prudent to do this via PMs rather than on an open forum. Mike.
  21. Hi Rob. Yes I would buy the same again and in fact my son bought one as well. The quality is amazing. It does everything I would want. I should have also told you it has night sight camera which also is very high quality. I was initially disappointed with the screen size but some of the most expensive in car cameras don't have any screen at all. Its only used to make sure the cameras are lined up both front and back after that its not really needed. The files are of 5 min duration and I am not sure how many files it can hold on a 32GB chip but its hours rather than minutes. Should you be involved in an accident there is a button you hit that saves the file so it cannot be erased and also continues to carry on recording for another 5 mins. You are correct that there is a motion detector on it but I haven't switched it on so cant tell you if that works or not. I will have a go at the weekend and let you know. Regards Mike. PS It was also on 5th gear recently and beat all comers.
