Hi All,
I had this issue last year lucky for me I had my car under the extended warranty so booked it in, they advised me there is a junction box on the drivers side A-pillar which had gone faulty, this aparently there are two types of these juctions boxes so make sure they order the correct one for your car as my dealer ordered the wrong first time around and had to order the correct one, and the part comes from Japan so you got to wait roughly a month, if your lucky in can come in 2 weeks depends on customs i guess.
Hope this helps

What do you on door skin ?
if All doors unlocked and when I go over 20mph doors lock itself if i press the unlock button (on the drivers door) sometimes only the drivers door opens but then my passengers cant open the doors unless they pull door lock switch to open. but I can lock the doors fine.
But at the same time if i was to come back to the car and try to unlock the car using the smart entry from either passenger or divers door it will some time only unlock the drivers door. I very rarely use the keyfob but it does samething when i have tested it
-
it's an Intermittent fault. cant see how that will be the customise the setting considering ive had the cover nearly 3 years ago and only been happening over the 6 months
-
that's not the issue you can tell its trying to unlock but its as if its getting jammed somewhere
-
tried both fobs and also use smart entry still same issue

Hi All,
I have a IS200d (2010) model and quite often when i try to unlock the doors from outside/inside they just dont unlock apart from the drivers door, the rest remained locked. it becoming really annoying does anyone know what could be causing this?
-
This morning if i tried unlocking the car from the passenger door handle or the remote key it wouldn't unlock any of the doors apart from the drivers, I had the same issue last night. I have the same issue when letting passengers out sometime.
What I have done now is swapped my remote key I going to test it with my spare key and see how it goes so far its ok but its a very tempremental thing sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
If that don't work I might just disconnect the Battery over night and see if that helps very adoubt it failing might be a visit to lexus as I see many people are having this issue.
-
I just tested that it does work and you do get a beep after 10 seconds.
Not sure if it has resolved my issues regarding locking/unlocking the car time will tell

Managed to connect mine successfully this morning i was going to run it off the fuse for the cig but i didnt want to run the cable down the drivers side, so instead i'm running it off the heated seats works like magic.

Cool I'll give that a try
Thanks verbout

yes i ordered the hardwire kit from nextbase via amazon ain't had a chance to read the instructions yet
-
Yeah it most likely to be taken to fuse box behind the glove box/ passenger side.
Will need to look what is there on sunday when i get a moment to see how it can be done.
I did have a quick look on youtube but didnt find one relevant.

Hi Paul,
Would you be able to check for me which fuse Halfords used for you if you don't mind?
Thanks
-
i think its better to keep to when the engine is running less likely to run the Battery flat
-
I know this question has been asked previously but unable to locate the post, does anyone where in the fuse box to hard wire a nextbase dashcam on is200d (2010)? Thanks in advance

I dont get why people say 6th is unusable at motorway speeds. I use mine in 6th at 63mph, and average around 53-55 mpg.
True, you need to change down to overtake, but for cruising with the cruise control on, it works beautifully.
5th gives around 47-50 mpg at that speed.
I only use 5th when driving 50 at motorway roadworks, it gives me good 60 mpg then.
My MPG may differ from others though, as I drive north-south every week, so going through half the country I get a good set of motorway bits with inclines and declines that create a realistic average.
Some people may only have an incline to drive up, so their mpg will be a lot worse.
When do you allow your turbo to kick in?
I couldn't drive 63mph on the mway it jus to slow for me, need to be going 70+

To be fair, I wasn't, in this instance, casting aspersions on individual parts counter staff as much as trying to imply that as a matter of company policy Toyota are not going to encourage either Toyota or Lexus employees to help parts buyers identify common parts so that they can pay a (lower?) Toyota price.
Actually Japanese car companies in general do less parts bin raiding than is common in say, the VW group (VAG) , Ford and GM groups - there are exceptions though (eg the Aygo was a Peugeot 107/Citroen C1 clone and built in the same factory, previous generation Mazda3 had a lot of commonality with the Ford Focus, Mazda2 was a Fiesta clone and Nissan share parts with Renault)
But mostly, Japanese design teams do their own thing and I'm sure that there was little cooperation between Avensis and Lexus designers.
I always thought the 107 and C1 copied the Aygo clearly I was wrong. I have driven both the Aygo and 107 both crap and pieces of plastic & metal stuck together lol I love my big luxury cars too much.

Not related to parking, but you have kept the interior nice and clean :)

I keep my switched off all the time and have no windows steaming issue i just keep the blower on set to footwell and windscreen, and set the temp to 21.5 degrees in the winter.
When it is raining the front window steams up sometimes then i put the AC but i switch off after a while cause it feels cold.

Anyone tried running Textar pads on their IS, how they perform?

There are some shared parts, but there is really not much similarity between IS and Avensis - the Avensis is front wheel drive for a start (IS is rear wheel drive, in case you didn't know! :-) ). Engines (petrol at least - Avensis uses 4 cyl petrol engines, IS250 is V6)), gearboxes and running gear are completely different. So are the interiors. You would need a pretty detailed parts list to identify common parts and dealers (either way) certainly won't help.
lol Yeah I know IS is rear wheel drive and the Avensis is front wheel drive, I was just thinking along they could be using same diesel engines
I dont think we need to worry about the interior parts the IS is quite a solid car in my opinion.

Thanks Steve, that's quite interesting and surprising a part costs more from toyota than lexus.
I guess it's cheaper from the USA but have to wait a while to receive it?

The lexus parts dept in woodford is actually toyota as they have showrooms next to each other...

Yeah I have been showroom in toyota, its quiet treck for me take over an hour to do like 15 miles, when i got a dealership a toyota dealership 6 miles from me and a lexus 9 miles. i was just wondering whether there is actually price difference. I'm sure lexus add a bit more margin on to certain items.
Im just curious i dont actually need any parts at present.

Hi,
I was just wondering whether the Lexus IS220d /200d share same parts as the Toyota Avensis, they seem quiet similar and wondering whether parts share the same part number if thats case then surely we could walk into toyota dealership parts department and order the same parts for slightly less?
It's bit like VW using the same parts in their Audi models.

I Agree the only one I would consider is the gap insurance and take out service plan, and if you get them to throw in extended warranty.
Dash is something you can buy for decent price and hard wire into your fuse box quiet easily really only takes 15 mins.
