  1. If you touched the intake then possible a vacuum pipe isn't connected properly (or old rubber split as it was moved).
  2. Try ejecting the DVD and give it a clean if there is a dirty film on the surface, and possibly try a CD cleaning disc in case there is a dirty film covering the lens of the DVD drive.
  3. Lexus will warrant the hybrid battery for 15 years provided you get a hybrid health check carried out once every 12 months / 10k miles. It is either included in a service from a Lexus dealer or you can pay around £50. https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/servicing-mot-hybrid-health-check Plus, many people go well beyond 100k miles without issue.
  4. Nav was standard on all SCs in the UK - that plastic cover just needs to be pulled away to reveal the Nav DVD drive.
  5. I thought the geo-fence capability was a separate device they were fitting, and it isn't available yet? People seem to be getting told different things depending on who they speak to and I wouldn't trust the press-release to be accurate.
  6. It's a battery operated device. Once it has received a signal to start transmitting I suspect the battery doesn't last long.
  7. No, because the hybrid system doesn't start the petrol engine from the 12v system (it uses the hybrid battery). Therefore the 12v power pack really only needs enough power for the on-board computers (something like 20 amps) so the smallest one will do. You can use a larger capacity pack without issue, the car will only draw what it requires independent on what the pack could provide. The only advice I give people is to purchase a pack with enough capacity for use with other cars in the household, or for helping a neighbour etc. e.g. if you wife has a large diesel car then get something that can support its requirement.
  8. The car shouldn't be randomly locking itself though. I wonder if the remote lock button is playing up and is randomly being 'pressed'? You could just take the battery out for a few days to see if unprompted locking still occurs.
  9. Yes, if you click on your profile name in the top right, there is an option to manage followed content. Otherwise if you visit the specific thread, there is a follow/following button at the top when you can change the settings.
  10. Both are fine. Just be aware that the battery monitor works via bluetooth to your phone, so you need to stand near the vehicle to get a reading. Any booster will do, you don't need a high capacity one for the 450h+ - personally I like Noco products but those cheaper Chinese boosters work fine (aside from a concern about lithium ion battery packs and safety - I'd store it at 80% capacity rather than 100%).
  11. How is the car locking itself? That shouldn't happen unless you just mean you are unlocking with the remote and not touching a door for 30 seconds at which point it will relock itself (it's assuming you accidentally pressed the unlock button). If the alarm is armed (by locking with the remote) then if you unlock with the physical key and open the door, the alarm will go off. The alarm isn't armed/disarmed with the key. If you unlock with the remote, the alarm shouldn't go off (assuming a third party alarm hasn't been installed).
  12. That's a review for the NX300 (with a 2l turbo engine and auto transmission) not the NX300h so you won't get 4 seconds, but I would expect better than 10. I assume your engine is revving right up when you put your foot down? Once you have driven, are any of the wheels getting excessively hot which would indicate brakes binding.
  13. Random, seemingly unrelated error codes could just indicate an issue with the 12v battery, and that the codes need clearing to allow the hybrid system to function again. Certainly there is no error there that directly related to the hybrid battery - there is one related to the transmission parking lock (C2300).
  14. I'd recommend you speak to a specialist. For example Richard at hybridbatterysolutions.co.uk @hybridbatterysolutions
  15. All UK grades of the RX series IV have heated mirrors. Yes, if they are faulty then they would be covered under Relax warranty, but you might get charged a diagnostic fee if it turns out there is nothing wrong. Did you feel the glass after they were turned on for a minute or two to see if they had warmed up? It is unusual for these to fail, especially both of them.
  16. You should be able feel if there is roughness on the outside or not - otherwise trying to fix a small area as Malc suggests.
  17. If you don't lacquer them afterwards then yes, they won't last long - the hard shell of the plastic is removed with wear and sanding them down and so they aren't as protected as they once were.
  18. Is anybody stating you don't have to look after a cold engine? Lexus do it for you on the LC where the rev limit automatically is lowered below 4,000 rpm when cold which steadily increases to 7,300 rpm as the engine warms up.
  19. Your current mileage being near 40,000 miles is irrelevant - the car has already had its 40k mile service two years ago. The service interval for the air filter is replacement every 4 years or 40,000 miles - whichever occurs first. If your car got to 4 years old before it had done 40,000 miles, the 4th year service still would have been conducted as a '40,000 mile' service and the air filters replaced. That resets the clock on the air filters and they would then only need to be replaced in another 4 years time (when the vehicle is 8 years old) or at whatever mileage the vehicle was at the time of the service + 40k miles. Given that your vehicle doesn't appear to be doing 10k miles per year the next time your air filters would need to be changed is when it is 8 years old. Your service therefore was scheduled correctly, as a 6year/60k mile service without air filters. The only issue is they didn't inspect the existing air filters and give them a quick clean - this should be done according to the service schedule and maintenance documentation that Lexus corporate publish but sadly it doesn't surprise me that a dealer doesn't bother to do such things 😞
  20. Assuming it is on the outside then yes you can rub the headlights down with progressively finer wet&dry sandpaper (e.g. 400, 800, 1,200 and 2,000) and then use a polishing compound to bring them back to new. I'd recommend then sealing them with a clear lacquer to protect the finish, otherwise you will have to repeat every couple of years.
  21. I don't think it is just the warranty at stake with the LC. Most buyers of F vehicles or LCs would expect full dealer history.
  22. The service interval is 4 years OR 40,000 miles, whichever occurs first. They would have been changed at 4 years, so these current ones are now 2 years old - 2 years to go.
  23. It's not disgraceful if they weren't scheduled for replacement!
