  1. It's also on the Lexus website. Not sure why they cannot honest and state it is due to component shortages and factory shutdowns rather than some big demand.
  2. seems a little low but nothing others haven't reported before. Take off the EGR and physically inspect it, it is probably clogged and just a fuel additive isn't going to help - they will help to keep it clean afterwards.
  3. As above the driver has to select one of the modes set up be the engineer but these are mainly adjustments to the peak rpm of the engine. The official press releases for the initial launch and the facelift have the power at 282 bhp. Other countries, i.e. the US, will have slight changes to emissions compared to European cars hence the different in power. There are also differences in 0-60 mph (0-62 mph) and what power is actually quoted (e.g. hp, bhp, PS). The facelift model did have a remapped ECU, mainly due to the transmission.
  4. It's Europe only unfortunately.
  5. Certainly impressive compared to the rubbish Lexus fitted as standard to my UX. Will definitely look to see if Seal tyres are available when I need to replace mine.
  6. It doesn't feel as big these days but still a lot of Toyota Prius cars get imported - probably more than all others combined.
  7. Toyota ECUs of that age are not easy to remap in the way you can with a BMW. This won't achieve anything in an SC430.
  8. No. Disabling smart entry will stop a relay attack, but it has no effect on a CAN bus attack.
  9. Yes a misunderstanding, but the backlash was based on the misunderstanding that it was a subscription. The public, or at least the media, made their feeling know so MB should expect the same.
  10. This is ridiculous and hopefully they will receive backlash from (potential) owners, similar to what BMW with their heated seats subscription. Personally I dislike subscriptions, but I can see the benefit if the feature you are subscribing to is constantly being developed and improved. Here it is just a static feature so I see no value in this not just being a one off purchase. It is also vastly overpriced. It just appears to a money grab, or MB have no faith in their batteries and motors and so this is just an extended warranty in disguise to pay for the extra failures they expect due to the extra power demands.
  11. What specifically is the error code? If it is a cat efficiency error, those can be intermittent and it may not be an issue with the cat itself. It could be a small hole in the exhaust or the upstream sensor that is running that bank rich which fools the downstream sensor that the cat isn't working correctly.
  12. That is a dealer customisation. Cannot remember if the kick function when locked is a in-car or dealer customisation, but it is possible as I've both of those functions enabled on my UX.
  13. It's common on Toyota/Lexus vehicles that there isn't just a single main fuse. Those others are possibly supplying power for the alarm, hybrid system, electric power steering etc. and it seems some emergency lighting 😉
  14. That's correct, it is Toyota that is the financial institution that is lending the money. Most of the large vehicle manufacturers put their cash in hand to get a good return, which also helps sell their products. But the point Escanor was making is not who is the provider but why are some people being allowed to kept their existing deals and others not when it is the same provider no matter which Toyota or Lexus you are purchasing.
  15. I'd want to know what was done on that 100k mile service. Was the engine and hybrid coolant changed using the correct Toyota coolant. All 4 tyres need to be changed - 4 different designs is not good and indicates the car has been maintained to a budget recently. The front drivers seat has a stain and possibly the leather is in poor condition. Was a picture of this purposely left out to hide this fact? Looks like it is a SE-I Lifestyle grade.
  16. I believe they should but it's another grey area where some of the generic exclusions could be interpreted as being relevant. I think it will be a case of the dealer submitting a warranty request and seeing if it gets approved.
  17. Rubber parts aren't covered by the warranty but if they are not separate replaceable parts then I'd argue it is part of the sunroof which is covered by Relax.
  18. Did the ICE run in your test? That is the part that has stopped this type of thing being an option before as it is an offence to leave an engine running on public roads unattended and Lexus always took that decision out of the hands of the owner.
  19. He has, it will be £20 from 2025 - please start saving.
  20. I don't know about those specific parts but if you don't want to go to Lexus, or they no longer stock the parts, then if autodoc.com don't list them then I'd try somewhere in the states such as rockauto.com
  21. Yes always best to avoid at least the first one or two quarter of a new model and I'd have been very nervous if the series II NX was the first of a new platform/drivetrain to be built, but the RAV4 has been out for some time already so I'm a little surprised with the amount of issues. To date there have been recalls across the world for Lane tracing assist, headlight/DRL issues, parking brake, missing welds around the suspension, Vehicle Stability Control randomly deactivating. Plus a whole bunch of issues/TSBs for things like fuel flap, console door/button stuck, remote control app functions not working, air con compressor noise, software fixes for the infotainment system etc.
  22. Not comparing the countries or the way they are governed, just that both their car industries were/are seen as a thread to US and European car industries and in the past attempts to stop them with protectionist trade policies didn't work - and members here benefited from that failure with high quality cars as a result.
  23. If the pan has been removed were they not able to see where the damage is, e.g. big end bearings etc. Engine can be rebuilt, but I wouldn't let a Lexus dealer do that as they just swap out £10k blocks rather than having experience or tools to repair it.
  24. Yes correct. Band A will disappear and everything there goes into Band B. Alternative fuel discounts will be removed. For all Lexus hybrids up to 2017, whichever band they are in, it will mean an extra £10.
  25. Wasn't the same view held in the 60/70/80s about Japan, and yet here we are on a Lexus forum.
