  1. I would download and decompress and move the MAPUPDATE directory to the root of a USB stick and see if that is detected. It might be worth checking on the uk my Lexus e-store to see if they have newer instructions. Otherwise I'm sure your dealer will help you.
  2. Sorry, let me rephrase. Do you feel it also when driving?
  3. I'm assuming they mean the trade-in price rather than forecourt price. Just got a WBAC valuation for that registration - £35k.
  4. Yes to a point. An SUV needs stiffer suspension compared to a luxury saloon otherwise it leans too much in the corners. What size wheels to you have on your RX, and what are the tyre pressures?
  5. Having to drive a 1.6 blue tech diesel C class is surely worse than pulling up behind one 😉
  6. 1 - the hybrid system will automatically select just ICE/EV assisted/EV only mode depending on many factors (battery state charge, how warm the cabin is, throttle position, engine load, engine/battery temperatures etc.) - just let it get on with it as in general it is selecting the best mode to use at that particular moment in time. 2 - by design it won't charge the battery passed 50% so there is always buffer to accept some charge from the regenerative brakes. If you want to get the battery full then coast down a very long hill/mountain road. 3 - You have the EV button which forces EV driver mode. This is really for moving the vehicle out of a garage or around a car park when you don't want the petrol engine to run. It isn't an efficient mode to be in so you should use it sparingly. 4 - The hybrid battery is very small (a maximum of 1 or 2 miles range, it isn't an EV). If you run in EV mode for too long the petrol engine has to fire up to recharge the battery when it gets low.
  7. Series I NX has poor economy compared to the IS. The UX has poor economy compared to the old CT. SUV style vehicles aren't fuel efficient. But I agree, I expected the UX to have better real world economy than it does.
  8. Pricing is based on the demographic they sell to and a Lexus owner is an affluent golf player will more deposable income compared to a Toyota owner in the eyes of the marketing department. Lexus finance, parts, servicing etc. are all priced higher compared to Toyota.
  9. Seems high given it hasn't been that cold yet but hybrids particularly suffer a drop in economy during winter. One of the main reasons is the ICE has to run more often to maintain the coolant temperature to heat the cabin. If you turn off the climate system and use seat heaters/wheel to keep warm and you will see an improvement. Also, an obvious one, is to check your tyre pressures as they drop in cold temperatures.
  10. If the 12 v aux battery goes flat then the GB20 will get you going again. However you don't want your aux battery to go flat because each time it does it will slightly degrade the battery. You are much better off trickle charging the battery to keep it at 100% charge. If it is left outside then a solar trickle charger will help, although you may not get enough sunlight during winter months.
  11. There was no recall for water pumps on the IS300h in the UK. Some leaked prematurely and were replaced under warranty. If your one has got to 90k miles then there certainly isn't a manufacturing issue and wouldn't be a surprise if it started to leak at some point as they don't last forever.
  12. It depends what grade you have. If you have the 450h+ with Premium Plus pack, F Sport or Takumi then you have full adaptive matrix style high beams. If you have the 450h+ with premium pack then you just have standard auto on/off of the high beam.
  13. Personally I didn't think the series III MR2 was a patch on the first two, but the end of the MR2 Spyder was the point at which Toyota became very boring until the GT86 started to bring something of interest back. Early 1990s with the Celica GT-Four, series II MR2, Supra TT was the best period in Toyota history from a driver's point of view.
  14. Neither the dealer, Lexus UK nor Toyota finance are going to make a loss on the deal and they have T&Cs in place to protection them - but if you don't want to accept their new terms then they need to give you a way to back out of the deal without incurring any costs. Normally there isn't an issue but with extended lead times, increases in component and shippings costs and exchange rate (which can only be hedged for so long) we aren't in normal times when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. That specific T&C is just related to the offer being available to a new order, once the paperwork has been signed a whole bunch of other T&Cs become relevant.
  15. I doubt Lexus UK will be able to do anything. They, essentially Toyota GB, don't have any control over Toyota Financial Services UK as they go up completely different reporting chains into the TMC organisation and each have their own P&L. I imagine it is the finance company that has pulled the plug.
  16. This should help as you can tell from the initial warning screen format: Personally I'd save your money and use a much better navigation system on a phone.
  17. Luigi's reply was against the assertion that no Lexus hybrids have a rev counter - and that is wrong as the CT, IS, RX series IV etc. provide that functionality. Just not the RX series II or III. I don't believe any rudeness was intended, just someone who is from a different country where English isn't their native language. Rough idle on the RX450h is potentially a fuelling issue, and there have been a few reports of injector issues. Might be worth trying a fuel system cleaner as a first attempt to resolve the issue, something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Liqui-Moly-Injection-Cleaner-300ml/dp/B0096Y6OII?ref_=ast_sto_dp
  18. Worth measuring the battery voltage when the engine is running to make sure it isn't over voltage and stressing the bulbs. You don't really want to see anything higher than 14.6 v.
  19. If it is policy then Lexus UK is covering the cost, so I wonder if the dealership is syphoning off what was rightfully yours 😠 (money not actual petrol 🤣). If Lexus UK aren't covering the cost then I cannot believe any dealer is paying out of their own pocket.
  20. I've had matching bulbs blow within a few days of each other but at exactly the same time seems a bit strange.
  21. Ignore the XL, you need to match the load index stated in the owners manual. I think for the IS on 16" and 17" wheels it should be 91. You can go higher to support extra load but that would compromise ride comfort.
  22. Welcome Mr G 🙂
  23. Yes, exactly the same as the NX450h+.
  24. What's the mileage? mpg is around 45 to 55 mpg depending on the specific grade, the journeys you do and how you drive it.
