  1. I think it is difficult to compare a previous experience with now. Unless you are ordering a MB at the same time as a Lexus then the comparison cannot really be made when all manufacturers are production constrained with moving build dates, or unable to even give one, shipping cars with missing features etc.
  2. It's not ok just to put the same brand on the same axle, it needs to be the same model of tyre so the tread pattern and compound are the same.
  3. The service books have items listed that are model dependent because it is a generic list and the CT200h for example doesn't have a rear diff so doesn't apply to that model (but it clearly states that). However the IS300h requires it as per the service book and Lexus service schedule. It was always changed by my Lexus dealer on all major services.
  4. You cannot perform a relay attack if the car's keyless entry has been disabled as it won't send/receive signals, it doesn't matter what the key does. The keys themselves respond when they hear the car so if the car isn't sending a signal then the keys won't respond. They will respond to other cars but that is of no use or threat.
  5. That's encouraging, what make and model of tyres are fitted to your UX?
  6. found this video which shows it:
  7. I believe there is a filter as part of the pump assembly within the fuel tank and an external one along with a sedimenter up above the rear diff/axle.
  8. There is no current limiting on the 12 V outlet other than the 15 A fuse that protects the wiring. Either your inverter has developed a fault or you aren't getting a good connection with the socket. Unless you are trying to use this when not in Ready mode? If so your aux battery is low and you really shouldn't try and use anything in the vehicle without being in Ready as you will discharge the aux battery very quickly.
  9. I'm not sure it was offered on the IS, and if it was probably only on the premium nav. But if you log into my lexus website and go to the e-store you would see if you have free entitlement.
  10. I think this might just refer to the shipping protection they put on the vehicle to protect the paint which is removed once imported/delivered to the dealer. Anti chipping paint is just that. Typically applied to the rockers/lower doors. Every Lexus has this.
  11. I believe the nav unit is the same for all pre-facelift models (2001-2004). The facelift models use a different part code so I'd stay away from the 2006 one as it may not work. I think the SC430 nav unit is the same as the ones fitted to the GS300/430 2001-2004 and LS430 2001-2003 and others (part 86841-50100)
  12. I believe it is still the latest. The premium and newer systems seem to get more regular updates. Lexus do provide free map updates on most vehicles for the first three years now but probably wasn't the case when your vehicle was purchased.
  13. No auto boot opener on the Luxe grade. Exterior colour code is probably 085 Leather interior Here is the brochure: brochure_es.pdf
  14. Not sure. It will probably go into ready mode if the voltage is as low as 12.0 v but you would only have 30 to 40% charge at that point so you don't want it to go that low on a regular basis. Ideally you want to charge it at 12.4 v (if not before) and you want it to be at 12.8 v once you have charged it.
  15. I'd be surprised if they do that. All NX orders have been suspended in Japan, including the 450h+. You cannot order the Toyota RAV4 plug-in in the UK.
  16. It's part of EU type approval regulations that are coming into force and would be mandatory to be fitted before the NX facelift is due so they implemented before the start date. Any new RX model to be type approved, or even if they continued to sell the current model into 2024, would need to have it enabled 😞 If the UK opts out, I doubt the big global vehicle manufactures would bother with UK specific settings so we would just get the European implementation anyway. ... 3. Vehicles of categories M1 and N1 shall also be equipped with an emergency lane-keeping system. 4. Advanced emergency braking systems and emergency lane-keeping systems shall meet the following requirements in particular: (a) it shall only be possible to switch off such systems one at a time by a sequence of actions to be carried out by the driver; (b) the systems shall be in normal operation mode upon each activation of the vehicle master control switch;
  17. A used 300e isn't going to be that old so I doubt a dealer would replace a good working battery. They are only ever going to replace it with a direct replacement, whereas the only way to improve the situation would be to replace it with a higher capacity one (if something of higher capacity can physically fit). Powering up for 30 mins (if you have a volt meter you would need to give an eye on it to make sure it does fully charge and if not just extend the time a little) will keep it charged and avoid any issues.
  18. The 12 v battery gets charged by the vehicle's DC-DC converter from the main traction battery when the vehicle is powered on. Hence if you are not driving your vehicle regularly (or at least turning it on but not going anywhere), it isn't charging the 12 v battery. I assume it will also be charged when the main vehicle is being charged. But again if you aren't using the vehicle much then you aren't charging it frequently either. The 300e operates in the same way as the 250h. The 12 v battery powers the alarm, keyless entry system and a few minor systems whilst powered off which slowly drains the battery. It will last over 2 weeks without problem, but you need to use the vehicle enough to put back that 2 week loss. What the 300e doesn't do is use the EV traction battery to power the standby systems and nor does the vehicle power itself up and recharge the 12 v battery if it is getting low, unlike some EVs.
  19. I assume this is occurring before actual financial contracts are signed and the money has been transferred from Toyota Finance to the Lexus dealer. They can withdraw the offer and provide a new one with increased rates, you can decide not to use them. Once the contract is signed and the cooling off period has passed then if it is a fixed rate agreement then it won't be altered.
  20. Even if you have the money, paying cash for a car these days normally gets you the worst deal. No dealer/manufacturer incentives and less margin available for the dealer to give you a discount. Purchase with finance, take the offers available and pay off straight away is the best deal. Also before this year you could get a good interest rate and put your money to better use. Plenty of very wealthy people finance their cars when they could pay for them outright.
  21. A cheap alternator or a proper Denso one? This is the likely culprit given it is a recent change to the vehicle and now you are having problems. Also strongly matches someone else with who had the same issue:
  22. I'd start with checking your battery voltage when in gear. A poorly performing battery or alternator could be the cause - when in gear at no throttle the rpm of the engine is lowest and therefore there might not be enough voltage for a good ignition. Try idling in drive and then turn on your headlights/full beam to see if it gets worse.
  23. We don't get the new IS in the UK 😞 You will be fine, just don't put your foot hard down in the wet in a corner until you get use to the vehicle. The traction control can only do so much.
  24. Normal, it isn't fixed at the ends so will flex if pulled.
