I would expect the SC to be similar to the GS430 series II, with the rear sensor connectors under the carpets in the footwells. You can move the seats back which gives enough room. However if the SC is more like the RX300 then, yes the seat has to come out and whether you choose to cut the carpet or remove lots of trim to fold the carpet back is a decision to make - people cut the carpet for speed and unnoticeable under the seat. -

The vast majority of owners stick to the service schedule (every 10k/1year) and don't experience problems. There may be marginally more wear than if you half that interval but it is unlikely to manifest itself before 200k+ miles which most modern vehicles don't achieve in the UK before being scrapped/written off for other reasons. If you are concerned then take a sample and get an oil analysis done. That will tell you if the oil is still protecting.

Correct. You just need to be concerned about relay attacks (keep keys in faraday pouch) and catalytic converter theft.

Too low volume I would imagine. They are only used on the LS and LC which are both extremely low volume vehicles and I imagine the majority of owners would just use genuine Lexus parts. EBC do always seem to list parts before they are available - I guess it's their way of testing the market. -
If the car wasn't being used then that would be too long. By that time the battery would have discharged too much, to the point where it would be causing small amounts of damaged to the battery because they don't like being kept in a low discharge state. The damage manifests itself as a lowering of capacity which then becomes a vicious circle because it takes less and less time to cause further damage. However, I assume you are actually using the vehicle? Is it being used frequently and for drives more than 15 minutes in duration?

What is every so often? Every few days, every week, every two weeks? I would have expected a slightly better charge level after 16 days. The next time it is left so long it will probably be even worse and does indicate some of its original capacity has been lost, but for normal daily use the battery will probably last a few more years without issue.

Yes that's correct, if the doors aren't opened within 30 seconds they re-lock by default. But the OP stated they opened the door then locked it. -
Glad you found the issue 👍 The iPod connector was a dealer fit accessory that could be installed at any time - they weren't standard so most RXs won't have one. Not the first time I've heard of an aftermarket add-on being the cause extra drain - seems they develop faults as they age which causes the extra drain. Probably due to not using automotive grade components that cannot handle long term temperatures and vibration that car electronics experience.

None of that is CAN. There is some BEAN bus there but most is discrete wiring which isn't an issue. It was around 2016 onwards (depending on specific model) where Toyota changed the lights to use CAN which introduces the method of attack that thieves are targeting - so only the RX series IV.

Only the left, as that headlight is the master and is controlled via a CAN bus connection back to the ECU. The right light is just a slave which the left controls via wiring that cannot be used to access other vehicle systems.

No, not in the UK if it doesn't have an E or BS marking on it, nor if it is being fitting into a housing that wasn't designed for. No LED lamp can be approved with a H (Halogen) fitting. -

It's a common mistake to think that just because a car passes the MOT that it is road legal. The MOT has been tightened up with regards to lights but it isn't for an MOT inspector to check lamps are E marked etc. They have a quick look and then make sure the beam pattern falls within their permitted range. However if you have an accident and the other party claims they were dazzled by your lights then the police will investigate and find non-legal lamps. Same with insurance companies who will state an undeclared modification led to the accident.... -

There is when the lens and reflectors have been designed for a specific lamp/light output. There are more to the requirements than just auto levelling and as a minimum lamps need to have gone through European or British Standards approval and be marked accordingly. -

Historically they were just upgraded versions of JDM Toyotas with the exception of the LS which was developed for the non-JDM market in mind. Once Lexus became a brand in Japan and they got their own designers and separate lines in the manufacturing plants they were different but now with global platforms and rising development costs, more and more Lexus vehicles are once again upgraded Toyotas (UX/C-HR, NX/RAV4, ES/Avalon/Camry, BZ/bZ4X, LBX/Yaris Cross) and will probably continue to move further that way. -
Squeal from the brake area when not applying pressure is normally an indication that the pads are worn and the wear indicator is rubbing against the disc (as it is designed to do). However given the age of your vehicle I highly doubt that. Regen braking occurs via the electric motor in the transaxle and therefore should be easily differentiated from the brakes and I'm not really sure how the motor could make that kind of noise without also doing it when operating to power the vehicle. If the noise is coming from the brakes then I suspect your brake calliper/sliding pins are somewhat seized and therefore the pads aren't releasing away from the discs correctly. I would recommend I visit to your dealer but being an intermittent issue they may struggle to recreate the issue and waste your time. Have you tried some hard braking from 60-10 a few time in a row to clean up the pads/discs and help free the pins?

They are hiding the buffer in the sense that the user doesn't have access to it. My point is I'd rather benefit from using the buffer and have it slowly diminish over time than never having the benefit. They have gone too conservative and by doing so are uncompetitive. Radiant heaters consume the same power as normal resistive heaters, and local resistive heaters in the seats and steering wheel would be adequate without the additional expense and weight. Heat pump systems are 200%+ efficient and therefore are best for full cabin heating (and cooling). I criticised where I feel it is justified, and given the video in the OP is from someone extremely pro Toyota it is more than justified.
