My advise would be won't slip :P
The other option would be put a soldering iron on the screw head and let the plastic melt but I do think that drilling is the best solution
-
You would think Lexus would start to use a decent supplier for it's wheels or at least get them to put a proper coating of lacqure on them. They have only had the problem on the IS for 4 years and on most Toyotas for the last 10 years!

Nothing

You will not lose anything whilst the key is apart.
If you just do enough to drill off the head of the screw then you won't damage anything.

Try pouring a little water on the belt to see if the noise changes/disappears. Hopefully it is the belt - it could be the water pump.

me either...
Claire, aren't you too special to have a gold logo

for a '99 IS200 Sport. Last time I was in Big H the book listing manufacturers/models and Bosch wiper codes didn't list Lexus.
Does anyone now what code/size Bosch wipers fit my car?
I require driver and passenger side wipers.
Cheers,
Mark.
Do you require wipers? Why not just replace the rubbers which are available from your dealer.

They both read the same to me
One gives the maximum/minimum figures and the other gives the mid point and the allowed tolerance each way.
I think the Lexus way of writing it is perfered as those are the figures you should be aiming for when adjusting.

You don't say what age your LS is.
It appears that oct 95 onwards have both a cat 1 device and a cat 2 device installed.
CAT 2 devices
oct 95 - dec 97 EIS
jan 98 - oct 00 EIS 2
CAT 1 devices
jan 95 - sep 95 Toyota 5000
oct 95 - dec 97 TVSS IIIA
jan98 - oct 00 TVSS IV - MPX
Info from Thacham - http://www.thatcham.org/resources/pdfs/compliance.pdf
all Lexus are listed under Toyota

You are aware of the system crash over the weekend? Just over months of posts have gone.
-
Sounds like the Battery is completly gone. You need some charge in there otherwise the engine won't run.
Also try not to bump start the car - not good for the cats.

Unless your engine temp is higher than half way on the temp. gauge the stock system is doing fine and this panel will add no benefit. As with most things designed by Toyota the stock cooling system is overengineered.
The claim that the stock system is 20% inefficient is untrue. That 20% air is being used to cool the engine bay. If you look at an MR2 that has to use side vents and an engine cooling fan to achieve the same thing. It's not just the engine that can overheat there are all the electrics etc. within the bay that need to be cooled.

I think the dealer would fix it for you out of good will.
