  1. I agree with you. The 3 year manufacturer's warranty is more comprehensive than the 'used' Relax warranty and doesn't have the exclusion for trim. I would therefore insist this is fixed under warranty unless they can prove it was caused by neglect. As for the leather, it's a common complain, especially for perforated leather, and Lexus seem to put it down to wear and tear and a character of the natural material. I don't think it's bad enough to take it to court for not being fit for purpose.
  2. It would, but you have the choice of either not charging at all because it will consume too much power, or lowering the charge power. The phone doesn't have a 120 W requirement, just that it has a boost charging function that provides rapid charging up to 120 W.
  3. Just use a lower powered charger then there won't be any issues.
  4. You know perfectly well that the oil is changed, not just topped up. Stop trying to be argumentative based on someone posting a misinterpretation.
  5. Welcome back 🙂
  6. Tyres aren’t going to be originals, what is the load index on them? They could have stiffer sidewalls then necessary. 18” would improve the ride, by how much is subjective.
  7. The RX400h was Euro IV compliant from launch in mid 2005. My old 400h is showing as compliant on the TFL site. It was registered Dec 2005.
  8. The main reason to use the front points is because you can access them when the battery is flat - mechanical key to unlock the driver's door and mechanical bonnet release. Depending on the specific vehicle, the tailgate needs electrical power to unlock - otherwise you are having to climb in through the back seats and then trying to manually release the lock.
  9. You can pay for an hour's access to the official manuals here: https://www.lexus-tech.eu/Menu/Repair
  10. It should be in the manual at the rear with all the customisation setting options. It is set via the centre screen Settings gear icon, vehicle customisation.
  11. I'd try lubricating the mechanism first before delving into the electrics.
  12. Service plans are normally priced based on the services you actual need. e.g. the cost of a plan that includes a 20k and 30k service will be different to one that includes a 100k and 110k service - so yes, your plan should include everything that is needed. Strange that they are asking for an extra charge for the pollen filter, they should be changed every 20k miles regardless - not inspected and only changed as required.
  13. You should be fine for a week, in fact you should have been fine for two weeks so that indicates the battery isn't holding as much charge as it did when new. To help the situation you should unlock the vehicle and put it into Ready mode before opening the boot - the tailgate motor consumes quite a bit of power which probably contributed to then not being able to go into Ready mode.
  14. that would be an additional charge and is only done initially at 100k miles then every 50k miles.
  15. No one in the UK is doing anything more than cleaning the air intake vent with a vacuum cleaner occasionally, if that, and no one is suffering battery pack failures. The yearly hybrid health check that is performed in the UK will run the fans at maximum to ensure they are working correctly and probably blow out some dust.
  16. Error in the database I presume. You will need to register the vehicle. Has it has a change of number plate during its life?
  17. The hybrid system contains an electrical generator within the transmission that charges the hybrid battery and can power the electric motor
  18. The DC-DC converter has a 120 A rating, so around 1700 W and is actually fused at 120 A. The car itself is going to use around 300 W when in Ready mode without the lights being on so in theory you can load up to around 1400 W without draining the aux battery, although I wouldn't recommend going that close to max capacity as it's going to be a real pain to replace the 120 A fuse if you blow it.
  19. Pressing the power button without a foot on the brake would turn on ACC mode, then pressing again would turn on full ignition. I'd say 18 A is probably correct in that mode given all the ECUs would be powered up. I would expect a warning beep if you try and exit with the car still on, and again if you try and lock it.
  20. It's a great colour Chris 👍
  21. A normal lead acid battery shouldn't be run down anywhere near to a completely discharged state as it damages it. Even going to 50% is not good for it so you would need to at least halve your figures. No Hybrid battery No, not if the vehicle is not in 'Ready' mode. If the vehicle isn't Ready then all 12 V systems are being powered by the aux battery. Once you are in Ready mode then the hybrid system is supplying 14.4 V, charging the aux battery and powering all 12 V systems. The petrol engine will then cut in/out as required to keep the hybrid battery at a minimum state of charge.
  22. The fuse is there to prevent anything melting, but yes what you are suggesting is likely to blow the fuse. You would need to put in a dedicated socket that can handle the current you are suggesting, with appropriate gauge cable and a fuse of suitable value near the battery connection - or directly connect the converter to the battery when you use it. It's only 0.7 A at 220 V but that would mean 12.5 A at 12 V even with no conversion losses. Power = voltage x current
