  1. Yes all the coil sprung series III RXs use the same rear springs, 2009-2015.
  2. I think the only way to stop the nagging is to reset the indicator as described in the owner's manual as if you have performed an oil service.
  3. It’s exactly this and the older the vehicle the less choice there is because Lexus were using discrete wiring or non-CAN bus communication to switches much more historically.

Not these days, the base level LS just gets basic leather, although you can have optional l-aniline leather on the top end grade rather than semi-aniline (I assume L-aniline is still lightly lacquered as full aniline takes too much looking after and it's too rainy in the UK to avoid getting water marks on it).
  6. Stock lamps are around 4300k colour temperature. 6200k would be appear blue in comparison.
  7. If you aren't experiencing high oil consumption I'd stick with 0W 20. No harm in moving to a quality 5W 30 oil and it may offer greater wear protection but as stated by David, you will see a decrease in economy. The CT engine can suffer from carbon build up which will lead to oil consumption and cylinder wear. Using a quality oil can help this from happening.
  8. Breakdown cover in someone else's vehicle. They specified moved the policy from personal cover to vehicle cover.
  9. Check you contract, not what the Lexus website states. When my roadside assistance renewal came through earlier in the year the personal cover was no longer included so I let it lapse and went direct to the AA.
  10. They are a different design so you cannot use rears on the front etc. If you replace your pads before you damage the wear detector you don't need to replace them, just move from old to new.
  11. The problem is most of the wiring diagrams out there are from the US, which doesn't have rear fogs. Are you able to measure the voltage at the relay - not the power to the relay coil but to make sure the supply that is switched is there. That would narrow down the search. If it's a broken wire then the most obviously place would be at the boot lid hinge which is subject to fatigue.
  12. Sorry no, but for that age of vehicle the fog lights are almost certainly operated via a relay which would be a likely troublesome area to investigate.
  13. GPS antenna is under the top of the dashboard, slightly to the right of the centre screen near the centre dash speaker. Do you have a replacement windscreen fitted?

  15. Sounds like a front sensor is permanently detecting an object. They only work when not in Park/Reverse and switch off at around 6 mph. Give them a good clean, and also try getting any foreign objects out that are stuck within the circular gap around inner part of the sensor (use the edge of some paper for example).
  16. That's not the case. Different wiring to the seats for example based on having heaters or not. I don't know specifically about the auto lights but the dashboard wiring is also dependant on the options fitted.   17. I don't think you will have the solar sensor on the dashboard, wiring or ECU in addition to the correct lever/switch.
  18. It will slowly discharge over 6 months but it doesn't harm the battery provided it doesn't go too low.
  19. Prices were slightly cheaper until April 2020 but only by around £50 so doesn't make a different to the £40k threshold as I don't think there was an option right on the limit.

That’s fair enough but people don’t have a flat hearing frequency response and it moves with age so you may want to boost the mids at some point, especially if you are listening to voices rather than music. I also find that tweeters can be placed too near the driver in certain vehicles, giving you an overly bright sound. Taking down the highs a notch or two then helps. With a home system your speaker placement can dial out tonal imbalance, you don’t get that luxury in a car.

  22. Looked into this a bit more and 2022 seems to be when these were introduced, give or take some months depending on model. I’d recommend you test this by placing the key on the ground near the door and then unlock/lock every minute without touching the key. After 4 or 5 minutes it should stop working and then a quick movement of the key without pressing the buttons should make it work again.
  23. It’s a concern and depending where you live it could be a real risk. The RX is most targeted, the ES rarely and the C-HR hardly ever (it has the same vulnerability).
  24. Unfortunately Toyota/Lexus were slow to move with other manufacturers to adopt automatic sleeping keys. To my knowledge no Lexus uses them. Only the Toyota Supra has them because the engine, ecu and ancillary electronics are from BMW.
  25. Sorry to hear this Ben. Do you know if they used a key relay attack or CAN bus attack (access via wheel arch)?
