The issue is Lexus and most other manufacturers don't have a fixed price so you can negotiate with the dealer an extra discount that you cannot get via the Internet. They would need to move to a model like Tesla where there are no dealer discounts so you know the price you are paying is fair and the same as others. I'd certainly buy via the internet to avoid the salesperson upsell and the 'let me speak with my manager' shenanigans which everyone is put through.

Those wheels, especially the optional 10" extra wide rears which are prone to damage, have been like hen's teeth for years. Good luck in finding one.

Always difficult to know how accurate a dyno engine result is because it is estimating the drivetrain losses, especially if you have an auto - the only figure that is accurate is at the wheels figure. There is a different wiring loom part code for the rear door depending if the vehicle has a camera or not so I suspect your car doesn’t have the required wiring in place.

You are charged when you hand back the vehicle at the end of the term for every mile over the agreed allowance, at the rate specified in your contract. Normally if doesn’t matter if you use the allowance evenly or for example you are heavy in one year and then not the next - unless you terminate early, in which case the allowed mileage would be proportion to the length of time the contract has run.

The forums have no advertising or soliciting terms and conditions and a company needs to be authorised before participating but there is nothing stopping a Lexus dealer from doing so. There have been two or three that have been active here in the past. I don't see why. I've been a member of a dozen owners clubs over the years, representing a number of different manufacturers and they have all been independent - and all the better for it. I can count 1 - which is a pretty poor percentage of the overall number of car salespeople I've dealt with. But they are probably better at their job of hitting sales targets by not being so.

Insurers rarely pay out for modifications even when declared unless you have a specific policy that covers them. The premium increases because the risk increases - with cosmetic upgrades it has the potential to attract more interest in the vehicle (both theft and people wanting to race). Repainting your callipers the same colour as factory isn't an issue (and shouldn't be declared), but painting them bright red is. Adding a PPF increases labour just to remove it - that's why they increase premiums if you declare it, and if you don't they could give you a bill for the extra work needed. I've never heard of a standard policy replacing a PPF even if declared.

Cosmetic and performance changes are what they are most interested in. Changing pads isn’t an issue provided they are suitable for the vehicle.

Whilst there is a hill start assist feature I don’t believe the series III RX (2009-2015) has what Lexus call Brake Hold where once you stop the brakes are continuously applied until you touch the throttle - that was only added to the series IV RX (2016-2022)

this is off topic to the thread but a Toyota/Lexus hybrid cannot charge its battery when in neutral, hence why you shouldn't leave it in that position, but just waiting a minute or two at lights isn't a problem (and doesn't cause harm, although it is completely unnecessary). If they are moving into N then I suspect they are worried about being rear ended, or don't want their brake lights shining at the person behind.

No it doesn't. Block exemption prevents a manufacturer from forcing customers to use their authorised service centres to maintain the vehicle's warranty - but it only applies for the original manufacturers warranty. Once the original manufacturers warranty expires (3 years) then you can only get the Lexus extended Relax warranty by servicing at an authorised Lexus service centre - there are no laws that prevent restrictions on extended/after market warranties as the owner has freedom of choice over which warranty policy to take out. Once pasted 3 years, if you are happy to no have warranty cover then you can make a good saving by having your vehicle serviced by an independent. If you want a warranty then you will be hard pushed to be able to get a policy with any soft of reasonable cover and servicing at the same price as just using a Lexus dealer.

It’s meaningless really as Toyota and Lexus count from different points in time. The IS is a second gen Lexus hybrid (first being RX400h/GS450h) but it would be third gen when looking at it from a Toyota timeline as the tech is equivalent to a Prius series 3. After then you have cars being launched with minor upgrades that some people count as a gen, others not. Ideally for any TMC vehicle the gen should be aligned against the Prius as that is really where the main changes are launched. So an IS300h would be gen 3, an ES300h gen 4, and the latest Corolla as gen 5.

^ this. It is not a good idea to leave it on a dumb trickle charger for weeks but a CTek/Noco etc. intelligent charger is designed to stop overcharging.

You don't need to solder. The hardwire kits normally come with a piggyback fuse adapter where you remove a suitable fuse, install the adapter and then insert you original fuse into it to provide protection for the dash cam and the original circuit.
