  1. They are all different, but whether this is a good or bad one I don't know. Ideally you want something with PEA in it to try and remove carbon. Toyota don't make any fluids, this one is from Texaco and some of their products do have PEA so......
  2. Pads don't come with wear sensors on the LC.
  3. Yeah you wouldn't think it that hard to get the specification right on the website. The brochure seems accurate.
  4. Air con seats are reserved for the LS, and I'm not sure it even has them now, but ventilated seats are certainly nice in this weather. To make them more effective, put your climate control to feet level so cool air goes under the seat for it to be drawn up by the fans.
  5. The UX was similar to the CT200h in that it wasn't fitted on the lower spec models. Even the base level NX doesn't have it.
  6. It's not missing anything from the base model - 10 speaker audio, electric tailgate, Lexus Link Pro are all Premium Pack Plus items. F Sport Design is essentially a UX with a Premium Pack and the 18" wheels, Tahara, BSM and RCTA options with some F Sport styling but in a special edition way nothing is configurable so you cannot upgrade to the 10 speaker stereo, leather, etc. The only choice you have is interior and exterior colour.
  7. Is the sunroof flush with the roof? Any misalignment will cause wind noise.
  8. it is vulnerable to the same can bus attack that the RX suffers from, buy I've only heard of one or two being stolen. Might be worth speaking to Lexus customer services to find out why Lexus insurance won't quote.
  9. On an RX400h? It is mechanical, no electrics involved.
  10. Insurance is going up everywhere, you might not get anywhere near your old figure 😞 Always worth trying the alternate brands within the same group - e.g. for Direct Line get a quote from Churchill and Privilege, or for Admiral try Elephant etc.
  11. UX with Premium Plus is over £3.5k more than the F Sport Design, and it is also now over the £40k threshold for extra VED so isn't such a good deal anymore.
  12. The 12" system has maps fully embedded into the system whereas the 8" system is cloud based. Normally not an issue but if you are in a place of no mobile signal or the cloud service is down it might result in a loss of map.
  13. Seems high - the list price in the US seems to be $500. GBP pricing is normally a little more but shouldn't be nearly double plus £100 to fit.
  14. They have the technology but no point in having a health check if you cannot get the main benefit of the extended warranty which is underwritten by Lexus. The HHC has an automated workflow, the engineer needs to enter in the vehicle's details to even start the test - the software won't allow a Lexus vehicle to be registered by a dealer than isn't an authorised Lexus dealer.
  15. It can be done but it isn't a straightforward swap.
  16. They are pressure tubes only fitted to the latest Fs with the Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) (MY18 onwards). They connect to the Differential Pressure Sensor which measures pressure in the exhaust compared to outside air - if high then the GPFs are clogged and will produce an error. If you are fitting these to a vehicle without GPFs you would need to find a way to block them.
  17. Most manufacturers use hot-wire MAF sensors these days but it may depend on the specific engine. All modern Toyota engines use them, you have to go back to the original Lexus IS200 to find one that didn't - that that didn't use a MAF sensor at all, just a MAP sensor - or further back to the LS400 / GS300 / Toyota Supra TT where they were using Karman-Vortex type MAFs.
  18. Yes, the tester will assume that if the manufacturer fitted two then they would both be needed to keep the screen clear in severe conditions.
  19. Try Amayama, just make sure you get the correct ones for your vehicle as there are different spring rates/suspension in different countries.
  20. Not many other options for these other than import from Japan or second hand from breakers. Your rear disc is looking quite worn too.
  21. If you have swirls then you have no choice if you want to correct it, but if not then definitely use a polish without abrasives.
  22. Are you in Park?
  23. A combined abrasive polish with fillers to hide swirls and wax - I can certainly understand why a dealership would be using this, no matter how high end they are. Very similar to Autoglym SRP. Nothing especially wrong with that but the effects will wear off quicker than a multi stage treatment, especially as the fillers get washed away.
  24. Worth trying a clean before replacing. Here's our guide specifically for the 4.3 V8 engine models but is similar for other models too.
  25. Try some BG244 and give it a good run at more the 2,000 rpm (don't use 6th gear).
