Lexus ux250h F sport few questions
ColinBarber replied to JDF's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Both unfortunately are often a source of inaccurate information or omissions. The media resources mention it, and this 0 kg base spec seems to be matched in other countries too. https://media.lexus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/pdf/230731M-UX-250h-Press-Pack.pdf -
Electricity tariffs for charging
ColinBarber replied to Gazetta's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
You typically pay more for daytime electricity to get a cheaper overnight rate. So it would depend on how often you need to charge and if you could benefit by delaying other things (e.g. set dishwasher and washing machine to run overnight or overnight hot water heating via immersion etc.). The best is probably Octopus Intelligent Go but you would need a compatible charger to qualify. -
Lexus ux250h F sport few questions
ColinBarber replied to JDF's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Correct but that isn’t the issue. It’s illegal to use a vehicle for towing if it isn’t type approved to do so. The base model has a 0 kg towing capacity so towing anything would exceed the maximum towing capacity. -

Ah ok the website. I'd recommend looking at the brochure as that is clearer, and whilst both have been a source of mistakes in the past it is normally more accurate than the website. Having looked at the site, it just seems to be the way the website has grouped and displayed the differences - the total of 22 is probably automatically calculated rather than it being some conscious decision to try and deceive by placing all of the trim options within. Regarding the towing capacity, the website is correct. The base UX does not have any towing capacity, only with an options pack do you get the 750 kg capacity. There might not be any physical differences, or maybe it is missing the wiring harness, but either way the VIN plate on a base model will be stamped with a towing capacity of 0 kg and it would be illegal to tow anything on a public road. -

The question is why was it low, it shouldn't drop at all. Possibly your water pump is leaking, otherwise a hole somewhere in the rad or pipe. -

No it's not obvious. Where are you getting this list of 22 extras from? -
Lexus ux250h F sport few questions

Takumi grade doesn't have AVS. F Sport with Takumi pack does (AVS is only available on some F Sport models on the UX). In theory AVS could improve comfort somewhat but in practice it's there to improve performance by stiffening up the suspension around corners etc. It takes the suspension from stiff to very stiff when put into Sport + mode. To put it another way, don't get AVS to improve F Sport comfort, just don't get an F Sport if it isn't comfortable enough. -

ES300H TAKUMI - wheel arch CAN BUS theft
ColinBarber replied to Colenso's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
Yes - MY17 onwards (factory built from Oct 2016) No -
I'm sure most after market belts are fine, but given that the engine would be damaged if it snapped I'd be using a genuine belt from Toyota/Lexus - the extra cost isn't that significant compared to the overall cost.

ISF with missing service history
ColinBarber replied to ISF855's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
You would expect full service history, and normally you would typically see full Lexus service history. The car itself is probably fine but I wouldn't be purchasing it with 4 years unknown history. -
Lexus ux250h F sport few questions
ColinBarber replied to JDF's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
It comes with the Tech & Safety pack or the Takumi pack so look for Head Up Display or wireless phone charger which was included in both those packs but not others. If it has AVS then the mode selector has Sport / Sport + mode rather than just Sport. -
Two batteries including the traction (EV) battery. The 12v lead acid battery (aux battery) that powers the car when not in ready mode and the large hybrid (traction battery) that takes over from the aux battery when in ready mode. The vehicle is started by the traction battery. You have no issues with either the two vehicle batteries, nor the battery in you key fob.

Lexus ux250h F sport few questions

Not all, depending on age. AVS was an option in the early years, now standard. Yes. The 18" with runflat tyres are poor for noise and comfort. If comfort is important to you then 17" wheel models may be more suited to you. You will need to test drive them as comfort is subjective. Even if the 18" wheels are ok for you, test an F Sport - it has firmer sports suspension compared to the other models. AVS won't make it as comfortable as non F Sport models. -
Sonic White is a 5 stage paint finish, not really pearlescent but is metallic and has a depth to it. For F Sport, F Sport white is available (not Sonic White) which is a very bright metallic white.

12V battery problem
ColinBarber replied to David Williamson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
It's worth testing that if you can because it is surprising it doesn't. At least some of the vehicle's ECUs would need to be powered up to charge and therefore the 12v system would be alive. -
I doubt it is the key battery because it shouldn't be old enough to have gone flat, it would have warned you if it was getting low and the use of the fob buttons would use more power than the smart entry system. I suspect there was some external RF interference stopping it working correctly, or the smart entry ECU wasn't functioning correctly (software bug?) and then reset itself. Certainly nothing to do with Lexus Link. If it happens again try moving the vehicle just a few metres and then testing again.

ES300H TAKUMI - wheel arch CAN BUS theft
ColinBarber replied to Colenso's topic in Lexus ES 300h Club
Something visual such as a disklok steering wheel lock is probably best because it should stop someone even attempting to steal the vehicle. Otherwise a 3rd party immobiliser designed to stop CAN bus attacks would prevent theft, but that won't stop a thief trying and possibly damaging the vehicle. -
2020 UX infotainment reverts to satnav?
ColinBarber replied to elbadgero88's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Menu, setup, general, Auto change to screen - off Select to set automatic screen changes from the audio/air condi- tioning control screen to the map screen to on/off. When set to on, the screen will automatically return to the map screen from the audio/air conditioning control screen after 20 seconds. -
Four wheel drive RC 300.
ColinBarber replied to GrumpyCat's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Lexus often have different engine and drivetrain options in different countries. AWD options are common in the US where some states have weather than makes it much more desired than RWD. IS, RC, GS, ES and LS have all had AWD options in countries other than the UK. The RC is also available with the 350 with a 3.5 V6, but not in the UK. -
Runflat tyres can blowout. The UX with 17" wheels has standard tyres. The UX with 18" wheels has runflats. Both have identical suspension, unless an F Sport. F Sport has different rear springs, shocks and anti-roll bars for a more sporty ride, and the optional AVS suspension means an F Sport with that options has different shocks all round.
