  1. The series II NX is unaffected (NX350h or NX450h+). Some insurers don't seem to have a correct list of which models are or are not affected and may refuse to provide cover but generally you shouldn't have an issue. Your RX is entitled to have a tracker fitted FOC by Lexus - would your insurer provide cover then?
  2. Yes, NEVER use accessory mode for more than a minute or two - always go into full Ready mode when possible. You don't need to give the car a run to recharge the 12 v battery - just put it in Ready mode for an hour to charge it (petrol engine will start/stop as needed by the hybrid system to keep the hybrid battery at the correct state of charge.
  3. It's the premium audio system (Pioneer headunit, with 8 speakers that includes the central dash speaker) that is vulnerable to this failure.
  4. EV database normally has good estimated range figures. They give it a real range of 210 miles but look at either their combined cold weather or highway mild weather figures for worst case. https://ev-database.org/uk/car/1943/Lexus-UX-300e
  5. Water pumps are around £240 from a dealer (£216 from Lexuspartsdirect)
  6. It only has an aux battery (no traction battery), but we don't call it that on a conventional engine vehicle - it's just the battery. Low voltage can cause spurious errors to appear - possibly your 12v battery is a bit low, the terminals aren't clean and tight or there is a poor earth somewhere. Measuring the voltage at the ECU as the engine is cranked would confirm if you do have an issue of this kind. But equally, it could just be an obscure software glitch.
  7. https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005006216223591.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2nld Not sure why a uk google search returned the Netherlands store, but you get the idea.
  8. Whilst the facelift IS has CAN bus controlled headlights, they are connected to a different bus to the central locking module and therefore the common attack that is being exploited on other models doesn’t work. The IS is vulnerable to key relay attacks so keep your keys in a faraday pouch/box and test that it works.
  9. Useful but I don’t think OP will get those features as I think they only arrived in late 2022 with the facelift.
  10. The first thing you need to do is attach a fault reader to obtain the error code(s) that have been triggered. Until then it is just speculation about which of the 100+ faults that could produce that error has actually occurred.
  11. If the car goes into Ready mode then it is already charing the 12v battery and more than sufficient power is being delivered by the hybrid system to open the boot.
  12. I assume you tried the mechanical key in the boot lock? I don't think removing the seats is an option as I suspect there is a bulkhead between them and the boot.
  13. I imagine they mean just briefly disconnect the battery and then reconnect to do a hard reset on the Nav computer before performing an upgrade. Not something I've ever heard of needing to do though.
  14. Worth trying - it will probably be cheaper to order from Amayama though. Part number of 77606-48070.
  15. Sounds like a corner-case software bug then - I didn't experience that in the five years I had my 400h, but I'd mainly have the display on the Consumption screen rather than Energy Monitor, with energy monitoring on the instrument cluster screen. Looking at your picture again, it seems you also don't have a temperature reading - which would certainly point to a software issue, or problem with the infotainment computer, rather than something with the hybrid system itself.
  16. Not sure if this is the shield you are referring to: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/7760648070
  17. I've never seen this. What was the battery status when you switched it off? It does imply that the battery is losing some charge when left, and possibly indicates one or two cells might be having an issue.
  18. Stock tyres are normally poor (cheap, or only focused on one feature (e.g. emissions)) compared to the best on the market. I'd switch to the best run flats or move away from them if you are happy to lose the puncture protection. Moving to smaller wheels is obviously a more expensive option - you would get better comfort, better economy, rims less prone to pothole damage and less noise but you give up the look of the larger wheels (if that is of interest to you). If you go with Lexus original wheels then you wouldn't, IMO, need to inform your insurance company as they would be deemed factory installed equivalent - otherwise you would need to inform them and possibly pay an admin fee to get the change noted on your policy. Michelin CC2 aren't the quietest of tyre, but they are a good all round tyre for the UK. This is probably the best resource to research tyres: https://www.youtube.com/@tyrereviews/videos
  19. An audio repair shop should hopefully be able to fix it. Otherwise you would need to source a used unit - 2014-2017 pre-facelift models all use the same ML amp (obviously dependant on if they have the ML stereo system).
  20. They must be being flown over - you don't get container shipments from Japan to the UK in 3 weeks, especially as most shipments aren't going through Suez. I imagine there is a slight delay in sourcing the part and/or waiting for a plane full of orders before it sets off, plus the delays at the UK end. Given they have supplied a loan vehicle, of similar/higher spec I don't see it as a big issue.
  21. Some insurance companies allow you register the vehicle against the VIN and you then update them with the registration number once allocated (Direct Line certainly used to). I thought the whole we must see your insurance certificate before we tax it wasn't a thing anymore - they certainly don't need it do their registration and first year tax 😞
  22. Keys only emit a signal if it receives a signal from the car (or pressing a button), and therefore performing the action in the manual will stop a relay attack. However, I believe the keys sleep after a few minutes of no movement so it is unnecessary.
