  1. It's as good a place as any given it isn't coming to the UK so there won't be a dedicated forum for it. All the Land Cruisers and derivatives are this design.
  2. Self levelling lights, not suspension. All UK series II RXs have self levelling HID lights with washers.
  3. All UK RX400h (in fact all series II RXs, 300, 350 and 400h) all come standard with HID / Xenon headlights. Due to age I imagine they have lost brightness and you need to change the lamps and/or make sure the lenses aren't cloudy.
  4. 1 - All UK series III RXs have either HID or LED lights. Both use standard halogen lamps for high beam. You will have high voltage warning stickers in the engine bay if you have HIDs. LED type HID type 2 - No they don't lift - that would make them illegally move above what is allowed for dipped beams. If you need more reach then you should enable main beams (assuming it is clear ahead to do so). 3 - HID and LED lights in Lexus models are considered flat beam and need no correction for driving in mainland Europe. 4 - AFS needs to be disabled because they swivel more in one direction that the other. It isn't adjustable so you need to disable it if you are using a RHD vehicle in a LHD country.
  5. Sometimes the hybrid system won't shut down the petrol engine when idling after a battery change and the ISC reset has to be performed. Won't affect seat heaters.
  6. There are no relays involved. Does the light come on the control switch? If yes, are both the seat base and seat back heater not working?
  7. They provide different model data in more recent years under the newer testing method. But these are tiny variations - nothing to make any real world difference between the models, other than the extra weight of the sun or pano roof.
  8. It's pretty much confirmed that it isn't getting a new engine, so it will just get the updated version of the M20A-FXS. The battery change is the bit that is unknown, although the latest hybrid system only uses a lithium ion battery - will it be the same physical size as the old one to give better performance, or will they make it smaller to get more boot space?
  9. This has been posted before on the RX forum:
  10. For an original NX 300h (2014 - 2017) expect high 30 mpg, for facelift models (2018-2021) expect low 40s. If you find an entry level FWD with 17" wheels then you might get 1 or 2 mpg more. The other grades are all essentially the same, close enough that Lexus doesn't have to officially provide different consumption figures between them. On other Lexus model (e.g. RX) the F Sport has larger heavier and wider wheels/tyres and less aerodynamic styling which makes it slightly less fuel efficient but no so with the NX. As has been stated above, if you see mpg figures in the 50s then it was using a different testing method to the one used now. Ignore that and accept they are all the same.
  11. European schedule should be a service every 15,000 km.
  12. It does depend on the specific year but other than acoustic front side windows which you only get with the Takumi, the F Sport + Takumi pack is actually better spec'd with additional drive modes, adaptive suspension and steering wheel paddle shifters, active sound control (if you don't count that as a negative 😉 ).
  13. It will have the revised version of the same engine with a bit more power, combined with the slightly enhanced hybrid system - essentially what is in the current Corolla and new C-HR. It will likely have a lithium ion battery rather than the current NiMH.
  14. The F Sport has a different front bumper that the grille fixes into - difficult to say with certainty if it will directly bolt into a standard bumper. Maybe someone has tried and can post their experience.
  15. The GS F hasn't been sold for years now in the UK.
  16. Or if you have a RAV4, get charged £70 to have plates fitted.
  17. Do you mean to the look of a 2022 onwards second generation NX? It certainly wouldn’t be a straightforward replacement as the vehicles are built on different platforms with different body dimensions.
  18. Too much fuel. I’d get the fuel pressure and injectors checked.
  19. Assuming full price was actually paid for the vehicle.
  20. These 'services' are one reason why are insurance prices are so high - please don't use them if you don't have to. I suspect the reason why they aren't doing everything they claim on the website is because there isn't a third party at fault that they can claim against.
  21. If the battery is good then you need to determine where the click you are hearing is coming from. You should hear a click from both the starter motor relay and also the starter motor solenoid. If the starter motor solenoid is clicking but the motor isn't turning then you need a new starter motor. An auto electrician, or even a normal mechanic, should be able to diagnose the issue quickly.
  22. Most manufacturers use higher pressures if transporting via a RoRo as vehicles are lashed down via the wheels and therefore the tyres have additional load on them. Even if pressures were set at normal recommended levels, temperature differences between countries or just the time lapse between manufacture and delivery would mean the pressures were unlikely to be suitable, hence why they should be corrected during PDI. If you are receiving vehicles with incorrect pressures then someone isn’t doing their job correctly or are using miscalibrated equipment.
  23. There isn't a separate fuse. The parking ECU powers all front and rear sensors directly. The thing in common is they are all wired on the same sub loom - potentially it wasn't reconnected if the bumper was removed.
  24. Bluetooth Dial Up Networking protocol is old now, not sure all the latest phones still support it and the Lexus Connected Services implementation was always flaky at best. Personally I wouldn't bother even trying to get it working. You are better off just using your smartphone to search for anything on the web and for navigation with up to date maps and traffic info. Here's another thread on the subject which may help:
