  1. Yes it is correct, you shouldn't use your vehicle to jump start another - certainly not unless you disconnect the 12 v battery from the car first and just jumped from your 12 v battery. You run the risk of pulling current from the DC/DC converter and blowing the 120 A fuse if you jump from the vehicle. The only exception would be jumping another Toyota/Lexus hybrid, but even then I'd avoid doing it. Receiving a jump start is fine - you will only draw around 10 A from the donor vehicle (assuming your lights are turned off) so even the smallest of vehicles could be a donor. You cannot bump start a hybrid.
  2. see here:
  3. My mistake, that is the adjuster for left/right positioning - although OP wants to move up/down so is using the wrong one. I imagine the flex shaft or the adjuster itself has seized over time - other than squirting some penetrating oil down between the shaft outer pipe the headlight would need to be removed to light to free up the mechanism.
  4. That isn't how they are adjusted - you don't mechanically move the whole light unit on the fixings, you adjust the controls to move the internal bulb/protector lens. It's been a number of years since I owned an IS300h but from what I recall I never felt the beams needed adjusting.
  5. All RX hybrids, be that gen 2, 3, 4 or 5 have electric not hydraulic power steering and all give speed-sensitive adjusting assistance. But yes, the level of assistance does vary between them.
  6. looks like this: https://afyal.com/en/part_8750105010_Toyota
  7. The diagram is simplified to just the heating components - obviously its more complicated than that in real life with the wiring for the motors, sensors and airbag. I'd certainly start by trying to swap over the control module - it is the same part on both seats.
  8. Not heard of any reports yet but takes 10+ years to occur on the IS-F so still a little too early to call it. It is a different part but fundamentally the same design as before, however some people have used the newer design to fix their IS-F based on the fact that it should be no worse and hopefully better than the original.
  9. No, not really. No issues reported with these specific batteries, and warranty cover is for 5 years, and then free Relax warranty with each service up to 10 years. Missing welds all covered under a recall so no worries there for that specific issue or anything else that might crop up.
  10. Apart from Land Rover, evidence would suggest otherwise with Lexus going from nowhere to number 2 most stolen car with the RX and a 500% increase in thefts in general for Lexus over the last 18 months. Lexus cars aren't that common or that sought after that they would suddenly top the lists unless they were substantially easier to steal than the majority of other vehicles.
  11. A bit of both really. The V8s in LSs have never been tuned for performance, whereas the engine in the LC was originally designed for track use and gets close to the magically 100 bhp per litre for an NA engine - and seemingly without sacrificing reliability, although as you say 200k motorway miles sitting under 2,000 rpm isn't going to stress any modern engine. Not that these engines are bullet proof. Exhaust manifold cracks and valley plate leaks aren't uncommon but these are more related to age and number of heat cycles rather than pure mileage, and its possible that these issues have been corrected on the latest variant of the engine that is in the LC - only time will tell.
  12. Do you not get your car serviced at Lexus? The fault should be covered under Relax warranty if your initial 3 year manufacturer warranty has expired.
  13. There is nothing lazy about the F engine used in the LC500. Worlds apart from an LS400 V8.
  14. Not sure if there is an upgrade or not but Lexus in general don’t tend to perform upgrades until you state you have a specific issue that is addressed by an upgrade. They operate differently to other manufacturers in this respect.
  15. Sorry to see you go Carl. I can't say I blame you.
  16. I'm surprised it isn't higher - have you not seen all the posts in the RX and ES forums?
  17. Yes, I would imagine so due to the fact that these interior pieces haven't been sealed properly - the external parts don't suffer as much from this. Mine took over a year to get to the point you see in the photo, but started during lockdown when the vehicle wasn't really used much.
  18. no surprise to anyone here unfortunately 😞
  19. Good luck. The problem is that you would be competing with many other GS F owners for the same part. Here is what mine looked like before I sold the vehicle: According to Lexus CS we have all mistreated our vehicles and used cleaning products we shouldn't have I'd look into getting the part wrapped, possibly along with the other pieces (which will also delaminate at some point in the future) so they match.
  20. People damage their cars getting them in/out of the garage, plus have tins of paint etc. fall on them whilst inside. You could also argue that if a thief were to break into the garage then they would have much to time to attempt to break into the vehicle undetected. It doesn't always make much difference but I've always found driveway is the cheapest option when I've checked.
  21. Don't state your car is in a garage, it will increase the premium over a driveway.
  22. I didn't say you did????? Yes, it's a cool video. If people get a chance to have a tour of the Derby Toyota plant they should definitely take up the offer. https://www.toyotauk.com/community/public-visits/burnaston/
  23. Flat enough is perhaps a better choice of words, certainly that is what Lexus CS has told customers here over the years. Are you sure your two headlights are in alignment? If one is out that could explain your different levels. Try covering them one by one to see if the step down is within a single light or misalignment of the two.
  24. When the 300h was first heard of, over a year ago, there was speculation that it could get a new engine, e.g. a 2.5 l engine. However this isn't the case, it will get the reworked version of the existing M20A-FXS engine.
