  1. sounds like they are ordering a new loom and will just cut off the connectors and use on your old loom? I guess from a labour point of view that will be the cheapest way, but you pay for an expensive loom. What is the history of the vehicle? Flood damaged, located near the sea?
  2. It doesn't, not in a 400h. It doesn't have bluetooth audio or iPod awareness.
  3. All the newer Lexus models have a better camera than the one in the RX series II. Given that it was launched in 2003 that probably means the components were selected in 2001 so really the camera wasn't that bad given the technology at the time. Things have moved on
  4. Not 100% sure this works on the CT but try pressing and holding the audio power button for 5 to 10 seconds, that should reset the system, which you can safely do on the motorway.
  5. you can guarantee it will be more than just dealing with the local company direct - there is an extra party involved wanting to make a profit from you.
  6. Probably wishful thinking I'm afraid unless you are willing to settle for showroom vehicles which will mean you don't get to choose trim colours etc. If you order new you need to wait a couple of months for it to arrive so you would need to start negotiating soon.
  7. It was just an example of what is available. There aren't many light coloured interior vehicles about but there are some to the Lexus website for £25k which is still a large saving over new.
  8. do you notice it in electric only mode or just when the engine (ICE) is running?
  9. Hi Mike I would probably go with the 2007 model. There are many people in the US with 150,000+ recorded miles without any major failure. If you were to have a failure of the hybrid system I think you would just be unlucky and could of happened with either of the two vehicles.
  10. I'm not sure if all dealers have the capability of changing tyres, some rely on local tyre companies for all work. This isn't really a problem provided expectation is set at the beginning with regards to how long the job will take.
  11. That is normal until you get to a certain speed when the transmission should go into lock-up which stops a lot of slip within the torque converter. You should see that happening at motorway speeds for example.
  12. yes sounds like a fault actuator unless it has been misaligned after some bodywork repairs?
  13. see if this helps, second from bottom post: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/73231-clock-light-battery-drain-info-please/
  14. Yes, cylinder 2 is second from front. Cylinder misfire could be caused by spark plug, coil pack or fuel injector and the cylinder reported isn't always to cylinder causing the problem, especially when an injector is causing the problem in which case you sometimes see multiple cylinder error codes being triggered by a single injector fault.
  15. http://www.toyodiy.com 28100-50052 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_1999_LEXUS_LS400_UCF20R-AEAGKW_1904.html?hl=28100
  16. People in the UK don't seem to report this, not sure if it is worse for LHD vehicles.
  17. I keep hearing this yet there are good value cars available for sale. For example is one is around £13k less than list price with less than 12,000 miles on the clock. http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/used-IS/IS-300h/2.5-Luxury/Derby/3627528-604615028-1913663.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_
  18. SE - Executive - Luxury - Premier | - F Sport Exec has better spec than the Lux and cheaper too but the Lux can be specified with better options to get the heated/ventilated seats and Premium Nav.
  19. It is the opposite with the new IS. The sensitivity seems far to high, even on the lowest setting which seems unnecessary considering all new vehicles now have DRL.
  20. Cylinder 1 is the front of the engine, nearest the timing belt/pulleys, with 6 at the back nearest the transmission.
  21. I wouldn't waste your time. Get a Brodit phone holder and just use TomTom or Co Pilot on a smart phone.
  22. They shouldn't give a discount but the cost shouldn't be much at all as all the labour would be for changing the water pump, you should just have to pay for the belt itself.
  23. it corners much better, certainly the F Sport - ride is a compromise though so it depends what you are looking for. It does carry some weight though because of the battery pack, not as nimble as a Yaris.
  24. The styling, although with the facelift the differences are now less than before. It does have a slightly different suspension set up too, whether it is better or not is a matter of opinion.
