    What generation of Prius Dave? You should certainly notice a big difference, more refined and more power.

    The Telsa system is much easier to use. The huge screen allows for more buttons to be displayed rather than multiple levels of menus/button presses. The complication comes from the fact that Telsa system has more functionality.

    If that amount of fluid has entered the transmission the level should be well above the maximum mark. When checking make sure the transmission fluid is red in colour. If you are losing the coolant through the cylinders then you should be able to see white smoke from the exhaust when revving.

    either the pistons/pads weren't fully in their correct position on one or more of the brakes or you have air in the system. Try pressing hard on the brake pedal a few times when stationary with the engine running to make sure the pedal is nice and firm. I don't think it was an abs issue, you would have felt the pedal vibrate if it engaged.

    it would be, we aren't in daylight saving time at the moment ;) Unfortunately it isn't an automatic mode, just allows the clock to be moved forward 1 hour when we are in BST.

    I don't know about the undocumented ambient-sensitive volume but the documented feature would work in the opposite direction - i.e. the volume increases with the vehicle noise and would effectively be off when stationary. If you don't have that feature turned on (Automatic sound leveliser) you should probably try it as it would stop you having to put the volume up so high when driving. If that doesn't fix it then it just sounds like you get use to the excessive volume whilst driving and then it appears too loud once you return.

    I've never looked into it but have you considered getting an oil analysis done? Quite a few people do that in the US, but there may not be the inexpensive options here in the UK.

    At those speeds I'd say a diesel would be better for economy but the different probably wouldn't be that much. What is the cost different in Sweden between petrol and diesel? Here in the UK with diesel being more expensive the running costs become more equal. How about an NX?

    The current cold weather will force the engine to run more frequently, especially if you have the cabin heating system on. Unless you run in Eco mode you have to adjust your driving style to make more use of the hybrid system, you will learn to back off the accelerator so EV mode comes on and then gently press the pedal again to try and run on just batteries. Eco mode will trigger EV mode more easily however if it is anything like the IS then it will be quite unresponsive, especially pulling away from a standstill.

    Worth looking at the US forums as a lot more SCs were sold over there and are modded more frequently too. Personally I never liked the SC flex, it is built on the series II GS chassis which itself isn't rigid even with a fixed roof. There are plenty of strut and chassis brace options available.

    I'd recommend people use the 'contact us' form on the portal and recommend that the latest software is published. Having to visit a dealer seems wholly unnecessary, and outside of a service they will probably try and charge you for the work too.

    Maybe it is only the VVTi variant of the engine but I thought the filter pointed somewhat downwards so the oil couldn't run out. If it doesn't have a Toyota filter on it I'd get it replaced. Also do you know what grade of oil was used? Maybe it is too thin.

    I believe the stock plugs are Denso SK20R11 or NGK IFR6A11 and the performance alternative is Denso IK20. Standard gap is 1.1mm. ​NGK would do some alternative copper plugs, they also do special LPG plugs too.

    really need to know the model number written on the plugs to make sure they are even the correct ones for the petrol engine. lpg sometimes needs a smaller spark plug gap. If you have iridium plugs currently then you probably should change them as it isn't advisable to change their gap.

    I think you will be out of luck. By the time the iPod was popular all of the Lexus vehicles had moved to DVD nav systems so even the early VAIS Tech SLI only works with them and doesn't appear to be backwards compatible with the CD based systems (which have different pinouts on the display unit). Even if you did find one that works they only do so by using playlists to represent a CD so the control and navigation of tracks is a bit clunky to say the least.

    Maybe there were more colour choices available for the LE in the final year. Would need to find a brochure from that year to be sure.

    The belt on my old RX300 was Mitsuboshi but it also had Toyota on it and the Toyota part code. I'd say that isn't a genuine belt. What is the paint code on the VIN plate? The LE came in Kodiak Sky dark sliver when it launched in 2003 and I don't think it changed, it is darker than platinum ice.

    What I don't understand is why the profile wasn't changed. Rather than having a 3% error using 245/45 they should have used 245/40 for only a 1% error. At least they got it right with the current generation of IS

    John your concern seems to be related to the different circumferences between the front and back. The ECU is very likely to have been calibrated using the standard 16" wheels and so it is your summer tyres that are less accurate, or calibrated in-between so all sizes are a little out one way or the other. There isn't a different calibration between the different trim grades to compensate for the different wheel sizes. Just your tyres wearing tread down from 8mm to 2mm introduces a 1% difference in itself, you are never going to be totally accurate.
