  1. See here regarding the head gasket
  2. Created new thread as off-topic on the original one. I doubt your tyres are illegal because of the 75% rule and probably because they aren't even primary grooves that are worn. It would become illegal if the cords start to show. Worth getting your wheel alignment checked to stop it getting worse, or the same thing happening to any new tyres. Tyre rotation wouldn't help here, other than cause uneven premature wear on all four tyres.
  3. I have a Virgin Media package which does includes a fixed phone line (VoIP in our area rather than traditional telephony) but I've never plugged a phone into the router in the three year's I've had it - we just use our mobile phones and only have the VM phone offering because it is cheaper to have it than not.
  4. There are already some countries in Europe that pay a lot less than us in the UK so there is definitely some margin to offer price reductions and discounts but it would need sales to slow first and Lexus just posted their best ever year in the UK so I don't think so just yet.
  5. Is your car an F Sport or an F Sport Design? If the latter with smaller screen then it sounds like you have a connectivity issue. Some people have recently complained about some of the Lexus services not working correctly, so possibly a backend issue rather than cellular connectivity. Worth contacting Lexus customer services directly or go through your dealer.
  6. Lexus hasn’t confirmed but it appears to just be the standard LBX/Yaris Cross platform not Corolla.
  7. Not unless there are holes up at the manifold as it is only the upstream sensors that affect fuelling. Probably a combination of lazy upstream sensor, carbon build up, injectors leaking/not atomising the fuel etc.
  8. No it won't. The OEM battery is very small and there isn't much space around it in boot to accommodate anything bigger.
  9. Hi Noel, welcome to LOC 🙂 I assume you have the Lexus Link Pro nav system with the 12" screen? I thought that system, unlike the lower grade Lexus Link Connect one, holds map data locally so doesn't need cloud connectivity. Not sure what the solution is other than checking if there is an update or contacting your dealer to resolve the issue.
  10. As has been said above, the official Lexus ones are quite poor quality these days - you can get a better product for less money elsewhere.
  11. Certainly if you are going to use Carista as your software then it makes sense to use their dongle - works well compared to some of the cheap rubbish out there and you get a free month's subscription.
  12. I believe only the new 300e (MY 2024) has wireless CarPlay.
  13. No RX series III (2009-2015) has auto high beam. AFS steers the beam left/right as you go around corners, it’s not related to high/low beams.
  14. Sure, you can put it into Acc mode by pressing the start button without a foot on the brake pedal.
  15. Yes, it appears to be the same transmission.
  16. Exactly, which is why it gets to approx. 200 bhp per tonne.
  17. The GR Yaris is around 150 kg more than a standard Yaris. If you assume the same then as a standard Yaris Cross/LBX weigh up to 1,360 kg, it would put a GR version at 1,510 kg - for a manual version. The new auto box apparently only weighs 20 kg more than the manual on the new GR Yaris. It would therefore keep the 200:1 power/weight ratio that the old GR Yaris has (new one is now better than this).
  18. I will add that if the lights are similar to the AFS ones on the RX in that era then the AFS swivel ECUs are part of the headlights and have internal connections, plus a connection into the wiring loom that is separate to the power supplied to the bulbs. There are no external sensors near the lights - really only the height sensor on the suspension for self-levelling which you wouldn't have been anywhere near. Ideally you will need to obtain the fault code that is being generated to help narrow down the problem to one of the headlamps.
  19. Welcome to LOC. Your question would be better asked on our US sister site as the ES only started to be sold in the UK around 2018 and therefore people here won’t have knowledge of your specific model. https://us.lexusownersclub.com
  20. Both 22060 and 22070 are used on the 400h exhaust so it depends specifically which joint you are referring to. I’d ignore descriptions about diesel, these parts are used on many Toyota vehicles including diesel Land Cruisers, Corolla, Avensis etc.
  21. Here’s the official Lexus press release on the concept vehicle:
  22. Many runflat tyres will only fit on wheels specifically designed for them, but normal tyres can fit on runflat design wheels with no problem. There are more modern runflats that don't even need special wheels.
  23. Lexus dealer? https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-ct-phase-1-auxiliary-12v-starter-battery/
  24. This all seems engine related. It really needs a proper diagnosis by looking at all the sensor data, especially when it goes into a fault condition - otherwise you will be guessing. Worth checking that state of all the vacuum hoses in case they are perishing and open up when they get warm. It could be related to the MAF and O2 sensors, but you really want to narrow down what the problem is rather than throwing money at it by replacing parts that aren't faulty. I don't think so. The faults related to hybrid are because the engine is failing to start - the same as those two new codes, they typically appear when other problems exist rather than being the root cause themselves. Worth checking you don't have water ingress in your boot though, as it is a common issue on older 400h vehicles.
