  1. The series III 450h had variable ratio steering. On the current series IV only the GS450h F Sport has it, Non F Sport 450h and all 300h do not have it. The IS has never had it.
  2. My issue isn't anything to do with variable resistance steering. Many of my previous vehicles have had that, I know how such a system should feel. My issue is an intermittent issue, that only seems to occur once I've driven for quite a distance at high speed. There is a TSB - I have a copy, I've attached it, and it is for both the IS250 and IS300h. I swear some dealers don't do any work and just fob off their customers. My steering assembly has just been replaced, under warranty and obviously approved by Toyota GB so the TSB is valid. It will probably be a week or two before I make a journey that would normally cause an issue so don't know for sure if the issue has been resolved. CP-0044L-0314_IR.pdf
  3. My dealer has just removed/cleaned/greased all my pads to try and resolve the issue. First impressions are it has improved but I've not driven it enough yet. The courtesy car I had was certainly better than mine. I suspect the pads glaze with only gently use, as the hybrid system is doing a lot of the braking, which increases the noise.
  4. Part of the monster thread - unfortunately some of it was lost http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/4397-the-monster/
  5. Mine was upgraded to G yesterday, not had a chance to see what difference it makes. Putting the software updates online and providing release notes would be a nice step up in customer service. Unfortunately this just doesn't seem to be a concept that car manufacturers understand. Very disappointed to read recently that Toyota/Lexus will not be introducing CarPlay to their vehicles soon. The quicker they remove themselves from software and just provide a screen for Apple/Google to use the better IMO.
  6. DAB isn't CD quality but even 128 Mbps is miles better than FM radio.
  7. It is something that I have previously suggested - it is something to do with LHD vehicles. However there is no reconfiguration for RHD vehicles - that is the normal and correct way, it is a RHD designed vehicle. The reconfiguration is to convert it to LHD ;)
  8. I currently have a courtesy vehicle, a Premier on 18s, and my journey home which normally provides very consistent mpg figures was around 3 or 4 mpg better. Not sure what that tells me but it could be: It isn't just the larger wheels that makes the F Sport economy worse than the other models Lexus have improved the mpg of the IS300h over its short lifetime There is quite a large manufacturing tolerance in these vehicles which affects economy Having only cover 3,000 miles the IS300h engine doesn't need running in - people seeing improvement all the way up to 8,000 miles are probably just getting use to driving the hybrid system more economically.
  9. Sounds adjustments are source specific so maybe they are just set wrong for DAB? Sound quality should be noticeable better on DAB over FM, certainly on a mainstream station with decent bandwidth such as the BBC stations.
  10. The reset didn't work or it still isn't warning you of a low pressure? The system gives you + and - tolerance, so if your system is set at 2.35 bar then you could go as low as 2.2 or higher than 2.5 without an issue. Better to set your pressures to 2.5 and then reset the system.
  11. If you are going for an engine conversion why not go the whole way and put in a 2JZ-GTE
  12. you cannot message reply - Apple does not support.
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, seems like a good idea. It's something I'll have to pass on to the admins, no idea if our forum software has that capability or not.
  14. You won't get 44 mpg from a RX450h if that has any bearing on your decision.
  15. It would have been a big surprise if you managed that mpg on the 18" wheels and OEM tyres.
  16. Yes, sounds like that have blown one of the major fuses. You can get the wiring diagram from http://www.lexus-tech.eu
  17. If you don't want leather then you would be looking at the SE-I grade up to Oct 2012, or an S or SE from Nov 2012 onwards. Just depends what toys are want - the drivetrain etc is the same across the whole range.
  18. Factory option prices are on the Lexus website. The Adaptive cruise control, pre-crash system, auto high beam and lane departure alert all come together as the 'advanced safety pack' for £1,540 and only available as an option on the Premier grade. This cannot be retro-fitted. For accessories, mats, boot liners etc, these again are listed on the Lexus website and available from your dealer.
  19. Your manual should confirm whether this is possible or not but I do not believe it is possible. Certainly it isn't possible with the current generation GS, MP3 and WMA playback is only possible on CD or memory stick.
  20. Typically there is a gauge fuse, or D-IG, which feeds the meter. Within the combination meter itself there is a CPU and other electronics which may be at fault rather than this just being a simple fuse issue.
  21. Why? People pressing the brake pedal rather than just coming off the throttle is the biggest cause of congestion on the motorway. The system will use the brakes if it needs to slow down that quickly, such as somebody pulling into your lane, and will bring on the lights.
